Does MTG not know where Georgia gets some of its funding? They can't pay their bills alone without help from us 'blue guys'... She says we have to jump through TFG's hoops or else.... Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has repeated her demand that America gets a divorce. An outraged Greene (R-GA) on Monday urged a national split from Democratic states whose lawmakers, and voters, have expressed criticism of President-elect Donald Trump. *** I’m still in favor of a national divorce if need be," Greene wrote. "If Democrat governors plan to commit treason against our President and the majority of Americans then let them destroy their own states." Greene did not name names, but several Democratic governors have reportedly launched efforts to protect their states from Trump policies. *** Greene has made several calls for a "national divorce" in the past, arguing that the left and right have reached "irreconcilable differences." She has claimed this could be done without mass violence, though critics have called it a euphemism for civil war. www.rawstory.com/marjorie-taylor-greene-divorce-2669923390/

I just heard that yesterday. I did have carrots in the fridge and told DH that I had already opened and eaten some. I couldn't remember where they came from and he didn't remember where the origin was. I used them this morning and they were from our local store here so since I have not gotten sick or died, I am going to consider they are ok.

Just be careful if you exhibit systems and have it checked out.

The recall is for whole carrots. I just bought baby carrots and was so close to buying the whole ones. I’m glad I chose the baby ones. I still can’t believe they want to get rid of the FDA they are needed for so many reasons. They play such a vital role in the safety of our foods, medical devices and medicines. They are already understaffed.

I do need to look at those. It seems I did use 1 in a recipe a couple of weeks ago. Those might actually be TJ carrots. Thanks!

Lawrence O'Donnell just had Nathan Heller, writer for The New Yorker.. He had written, after the election results, that less then 50% of citizens are able to read past the sixth grade level. They gain their info audibly from others. Why FOX and TFG are so successful....
Scary!!!

The wealthy will start to/continue to send their children to private schools, the nutjobs will send their children to nutjob private schools or homeschool, and everyone else will have to muddle through as best they can.
If the economy goes in the shitter, I wonder how many high school kids will have to drop out and try to get a job? How many kids that go to school hungry will have even more food insecurity? How many tired, stressed out parents will be even more exhausted, irritable and less able to monitor their child’s schoolwork? My thoughts are all over the place but I just keep thinking about compounding overlapping ripple effects.

They are in homes and restaurants in fridges and/or freezers.. Without the FDA we would hear nothing . Do any of them care..??..??

johnpavlovitz.substack.com/p/no-the-democratic-party-cant-message"In the wake of the election results, one of the most common media postmortems has been the Democratic Party’s supposed failure to reach those Americans who they were unable to persuade over the course of the campaign; rural and working class voters, especially. The airways have been filled with politicians and talking heads offer their critiques and suggestions on how Democrats need to rethink how they are messaging. I’m sorry, but that’s largely nonsense. This election result isn't about Dem messaging. Their messaging during the campaign was pitch-perfect in any other iteration of America. It was about helping the middle class, lowering taxes for the average American, continuing with sound economic policies to cut rising grocery prices, preserving democracy, taxing the wealthy, affordable healthcare and education, the rights of women, strengthening the border, unity, opportunity. Kamala Harris and Tim Walz formed a balanced ticket filled with character, intellect, and genuine love for this country, and they delivered their vision beautifully and eloquently. Their respective resumes contained exemplary histories of their work on behalf of the working people of this nation. They were experienced, mature, and competent. And none of these realities could overcome the America that we’ve become—or at least a sizable portion of it has. This election result isn’t about policy or platform, it’s about racism, misogyny, lack of education—and a Right-wing media machine that caters to those realities." ETA: we've seen multiple instances of proof of what Pavlovitz says right here on this board. Trump supporters don't know why they support him. They don't know what plans he has. They just believe his fear mongering and think he will make things better. I really don't know how we go forward when such a large chunk of our country is impervious to logic and reason, and frankly too lazy to READ about candidates and policy positions instead of relying on sound bites.

I recently saw a post on iG that said gov Newsom would be withholding California’s tax payments to the government. Which is not only untrue, but impossible since each taxpayer pays the IRS directly Gov Newsom can’t with hold it. That’s a lot of bat shit crazy stuff out there

Lindsey Graham defending Gaetz... They should do nothing to Gaetz because of media reports . They sure screwed Madison Cawthorn... Maybe what he said was true!! .. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) doesn't appear particularly concerned about the cloud of scandal hovering over former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Donald Trump's pick for attorney general. When CNN congressional correspondent Manu Raju caught up with him on Tuesday and asked him if he had reservations about the nominee given the allegations he engaged in sexual misconduct with a high school student, Graham replied, "Nobody should be disqualified because of a media report." www.rawstory.com/lindsey-graham-matt-gaetz/

If the country heads into a recession many companies will either lay people off or not hire replacements as people quit or retire. There was a long stretch here in my area where many kids weren’t working at all because no one was hiring.

My my my House Ethics committee has photos of Gaetz with the girls... House ethics investigators are reportedly in possession of “numerous” photos from two women who claim former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) paid them for sex. The new details emerged Tuesday during an appearance by the women’s attorney Joel Leppard on CNN’s “OutFront” days after President-elect Donald Trump tapped Gaetz to lead the Justice Department as attorney general. The women said they were paid by Gaetz for sex on a 2019 trip to New York, which they also said was paid for by Gaetz, Leppard told host Erin Burnett. *** The women additionally provided the House Ethics Committee with selfies Gaetz is said to have sent them. They also testified that they sent nude photos to Gaetz, sometimes at his request,” their lawyer told CNN. www.rawstory.com/matt-gaetz-2669951891/
