Russell springs, KY. Active shooter situation at little league ballpark. Officer shot at another location and suspect fled. Details are just what I’m seeing on fb. They assume same person, fled to park and fired shots, hiding in woods near park.
I’m on vacation and reading friends post on fb about fleeing park has me so upset.

Shootings reported in Russell Springs Monday
Tonight's Russell/Casey Volleyball game was cancelled due to a reported shooting. Parents are posting this game plus others and practice sessions were interrupted or cancelled.
Law enforcement from multiple agencies are on the scene at Bluebird Drive in a neighborhood just south of the Cumberland Parkway. People are asked to avoid the area as law enforcement works the scene.
We will report as news is available from official sources.

Damn. I'm so sorry this is close to home, particularly when you aren't there to offer solace and grief with your neigbors.

The officer passed. The suspect was neutralized.
Prayers for all of our first responders dealing with this tragedy. Prayers for all the children/ parents at the ballpark. They called off school today. I read several posts this morning that the kids were so scared and didn’t sleep. This is something they will not forget.

Do they think it's the same man who was shooting people on the interstate last week?
