Good morning, friends! As I type this scrapmaven is either getting ready to fly or is already in the air, jetting her way to Texas to meet with her very special doctor. We wish her much success on this trip! sueg , I hope the rivers have calmed down and there isn’t massive flooding to deal with. The Birdhouse Lady , sending love, hugs and good wishes that your back surgery is a rousing success today! leannec , how are you feeling today? Hopefully back to normal. PolarGreen12 , it was wonderful seeing you on yesterday’s thread! Stop by when you can as we love seeing your face! AussieMeg , regardless of what kind of infection you have, I hope it clears up quickly. bc2ca , how are you feeling this morning? I sure hope it’s not shingles. I will run some errands this morning. I'm in the hunt for more new bathing suits and I need to decide on dinner. Wishing everyone a peaceful day. What's on your menu? While I loved the 70s, I'm glad there is no smoking in restaurants any longer!

Happy Tuesday dinner friends! save travels scrapmaven! @birdhouselady sending good vibes and healing prayers for your surgery. @polarbear it was good to see you yesterday! @caddoodlebug thanks for keeping us on track while our fearless leader is away. I'm dragging today, I have managed to wash the sheets and have them back on the bed along with some work. DH will be back from the ranch today, I have some sliced chicken for sandwiches that needs to be used. I'm going to try to be creative with this and some broccoli. Maybe Chicken broccoli alfredo. Wishing everyone a great day!

Happy Tuesday!
I'm just getting ready for my 1/1 with my boss. He's so nice and always uplifting. This afternoon, we have an offsite team meeting so I'm wearing jeans for the first time in months as it's still in the 90s here. I actually did my hair and put on makeup! We're having a catered taco lunch and then there is an optional happy hour after so we'll see how social I am feeling at the time as to whether or not I'll go.
Dinner tonight will probably be something out since I'll be gone all afternoon. I need to place a grocery order for tomorrow so I'll have some food up in the house!
Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning! Hopefully our scrapmaven is having safe travels. There really was a lot of talk on yesterday's thread, wasn't there? I felt like I couldn't keep up. I was glad to see PolarGreen12. Yesterday I had to spend time putting out fires that arose while I was gone. This morning, I've been sorting through and answering emails. I had 284 emails while I was gone. Takes time to sort everything and respond. But it's been bite-sized work so it's been fun to pea like every ten or fifteen emails. Today at 3 I'm going to have my hair cut and Chloe is coming over at 4 today. She wants to talk. I'm nervous she will get out of control. Jeremy will be here so he can help me get her to leave if she blows up. We shall see. I don't know what's for dinner. Maybe the same as last night.

Good evening all, The rain has stopped! I was able to get out to the supermarket this morning around 9:30 without getting wet. Sadly, I am sure I picked up a tub of Ben and Jerry’s, but was not in my bag when I got home and it doesn’t appear on my docket either, so I must have left it in my shopping basket or lost it some other way. This is the map from our weather service this morning. I am under the blue dot. The darker the red, the wetter it is. Near Passau (middle right) is where rivers from the east flow into the Danube. I heard this afternoon that a lot of Danube river cruises are having to be cancelled. Dinner here tonight is chicken and vegetable pie. I made the filling earlier - used the leftover chicken from Sunday’s roast - so it is cold to put in the pastry cases. The Birdhouse Lady - I hope all goes well today jeremysgirl - I am glad that Chloe has decided to talk to you again and hope all goes well. Hugs

I'm glad Jeremy will be able to intervene if necessary. I know we will all be pulling for you and awaiting an update when you are ready to share.

Had my mammogram yesterday. All good. I figured out I've been going there for 23 years. I was there for the first time on 9/11. That’s when they used to have televisions in the waiting room. I watched as the first tower was on fire, and then I also saw the second plane. It was awful. They found a lump which turned out to be a bruise from a student who had butted me during a restraint.
Helped my mom yesterday after 4 1/2 years pack up my dad‘s clothes. We found a group here that has five homes for veterans that are displaced. There’s 16 beds in each one and they can stay up to 90 days they receive job training, etc., so they’re getting dress shirts, etc. It was hard to do.

Jeremysgirl...I hear you on the "talk" on the thread, when it gets to page 2 I just cannot keep up and sometimes don't bother to post...it is overwhelming to my brain! I hope your visit with Chloe goes well....Good though that Jeremy will be there to intervene as necessary!!!
Scrapmaven wishing you safe travels and a beneficial visit with your MD Birdhouselady..thinking of you 🙏🏻💝
I was going to make chicken soup for dinner however while at Costco a rotisserie chicken jumped in my cart we will have that along with salad and I'm thinking asparagus

I was up early to get my bottles and cans ready for pick up ... I hate going to the bottle depot so I have a company pick them up ... it's awesome! No one throws their bottles and cans out in Canada ... we get money back for recycling them! Hope your flight was uneventful scrapmaven! Hope your surgery went well and you are recovering comfortably The Birdhouse Lady! I am feeling much better today ... thanks for thinking of me everyone! Once again, no work but I'm glad because I need to clean up a bit around here and run a couple of errands this afternoon ... Dinner tonight is probably going to be Subway because I will be in the area to pick one up!

how are you feeling this morning? I sure hope it’s not shingles. I feel fine but have a large, tender to touch, red welt on one side of my face. Since there is no blistering, I'm leaning to cellulitis being the correct diagnosis and fingers crossed the antibiotic I started yesterday does the trick. I'm also crossing my fingers that they don't put off my infusion tomorrow until it clears. I heard this afternoon that a lot of Danube river cruises are having to be cancelled. Yikes. A river cruise is on my bucket list. When we were in Europe a few summers ago cruises were canceled because of low river levels and now I have to pay attention to swollen rivers in the fall? The Christmas market season is looking even more appealing now. I understand you feeling nervous, jeremysgirl, and hope things go the best way possible this afternoon. Thinking of you The Birdhouse Lady. Hoping surgery was smooth and you are on the way to a good recovery. I took my car in for new tires and, of course, they called to ask if I wanted a couple failed sensors replaced. And of course, DH didn't answer when I called him. And of course I made an executive decision and said "go ahead" to Costco. And of course DH texted an hour later and said he'd take care of them. That will teach him to make me do car stuff. Dinner tonight will be lasagne. I like the no bake lasagne sheets from Trader Joe's and ran out some time late last spring. After looking for them for a couple weeks, I asked if they were discontinued or back ordered. An employee looked it up and, to everyone's surprise, discovered they were seasonal and only stocked in the fall?! So guess what I bought last week.

Well it's almost 5:30 and she was supposed to be here at 4. I'm guessing she is not coming.
My cleaning lady is just finishing up and then I guess I'll cook dinner.

Well it's almost 5:30 and she was supposed to be here at 4. I'm guessing she is not coming. I'm sorry ... I wish I could magically turn Chloe into one of my dd's for you ... at least for a little while ... to give you a break ... I feel guilty that mine are pretty much stress free in comparison ... but I know that you are a great mum and you will be there for her whenever she straightens herself out! Cook a great dinner and then relax doing something you love!

I appreciate the offer leannec. You've got good girls. But my Chloe is pretty amazing when she's sober and on her meds. I enjoy her company and I think she's a pretty dynamic person. If only she could stay that person all the time.

dh took off at 6 am .. I got up and made coffee, helped with loading etc. took the dog out later, then went to aquafit then to trader joes.
doing errands. I think scrambled eggs for dinner for dd and me. cold drizzling day. talked to my sister in law.. the one on hospice. I was crying when I was telling dh about it. she was checking dh's schedule (he is staying a couple days with them) and I realized I may not get to see her again. her photo albums are being delivered by dh.
will she be alive in a month to see? I don't know. it is just sad.

I’m checking in from an amazing cottage in Northern Ontario. After a 4.5 hr drive we arrived and we very pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. We are right on the water with a dock and gazebo at the waters edge. There is a canoe, paddle board, kayak and paddle boat.
I haven’t read the posts but will do that tonight.

jeremysgirl I was so hopeful Chloe would show. scrappintoee at least you were able to make your cake before your pain took over. I hope it’s better now. bc2ca I missed that you are having issues. Hopefully that clears quickly. I had a ct scan this morning. It was scheduled for 8:15. They said get there by 7:40. I was done by 8:05. Hopefully Friday’s tests go as smoothly. I ate a late lunch so I had chia pudding for dinner.

Yikes. A river cruise is on my bucket list. When we were in Europe a few summers ago cruises were canceled because of low river levels and now I have to pay attention to swollen rivers in the fall? The Christmas market season is looking even more appealing now. It is really quite random. This year, summer was fine as we had decent snowfall last winter and then heavy rains in late May/early June (though the first week of June had some problems because of that), so river levels were good. The level of rainfall we are getting right now is well above normal, though we are being told to expect more and heavier rain in the future, but overall fall is OK - this year is an exception. Spring/early summer is usually the time when river levels get too high, as the snow that fell over winter in the alps melts and flows down into the rivers.
