Let me preface by saying that I do not want to Google as I don't want my devices recognizing that I did so.
I receive up to a dozen text messages daily asking for political donations for this campaign or that campaign (lesson learned, NEVER attach one's phone number to political donations). Anyhow, Elissa Slotkin's campaign has been obnoxiously persistent for MANY months, sending at least 3 messages each and every day.
So, I ask those of you in this person's district (I don't even know what she's running for), who is she? I'm not going to donate to her, but really I want to know who's behind this ridiculously tenacious text campaign? So, please tell me what you know (if you know). Thanks peas!

She is currently my congresswoman. She is running for Debbie Stabenow's open Senate seat. They are trying to keep it blue. Her opponent, Mike Rogers, is former FBI, Congressman, and he either has a podcast or appears on a political podcast, something to that effect since retiring from Congress. He has come back out of the woodwork as part of the MAGA machine to get that seat and he has a lot of name recognition. There is a lot of money going into this campaign.
I will vote Slotkin.

She is an incredibly impressive Congresswoman from Michigan who flipped a red seat a couple cycles ago. Former CIA agent and analyst, worked at DoD, etc. Common sense, down to earth but apparently hired an obnoxious fundraising team.

Are you formally from Michigan? Just wondering why you are getting the text.

Not in my district (that I know of) but I feel your pain. My work assigned phone number (different coast) gets relentless texts and calls for political donations. Relentless. Drives me batty. Usually (up till 3 months ago) it was 4 or 5 a day. NOW? It's literally 15-20 during the work day. During the debates and any other frenzy.... it is even worse. My company won't let me change the number and it has made it so that I literally have in my email signature not to call or text me. I am very unlikely to answer. ONLY Teams and Email. My manager was able to take my phone number off the org chart- people always ask why lol

Are you formally from Michigan? Just wondering why you are getting the text. I get fundraising emails and texts for out of state politicians all the time. Once you've donated to the party, you will be asked to contribute to specific races that could use a boost. I donated to Beto O'rourke a few years ago when he ran for Senate. He isnt in my state. Elissa Slotkin is a very impressive person, very focused on healthcare affordability and access among other things. Her opponent is a maga twatwaffle who opposes women.

She’s a Dem running in Michigan. I have read that she is one of the better ones, but do not know firsthand. I just saw that Gretchen Whitmer was urging folks to donate to her.

She's in my state and a really good egg. I'm in the same boat with a candidate in Alaska lol. The unsubscribe worked for a little while for me.

Thanks so much girls. Now you made me want to contribute to her But man, her text outreach has been driving me crazy. I finally actually opened one of the texts today and replied “stop” or whatever the word was to opt out of further texts. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Prior to this I would “report junk” which also blocks that number, but as many of us know, each text comes from a new phone number. Sigh. As to whether I live or have lived in Michigan, no. I live in a very blue state, so most of my political donations are for out of state races. Or to support those behind the scenes in the “get people to vote” realm.

Honestly it doesn’t matter if you ever donated or not. I haven’t ever donated to an out of state election and I’ve been getting bombarded with dozens of texts every single day now for weeks on end. From all over. It’s insane.

Not only did she flip a red seat, she flipped a red seat in a very gerrymandered district that was never supposed to go blue.

The WORST offenders of using my phone number are the local township politicians. I text them back they have no right to my private phone number that IS on the national dnd list and texting me will NOT convince me to vote for them so they should take my phone off their list. This usually works. But I have to do it once every election season - for some expletive reason politicians are exempt from the do it call list.
Can you just block the number?
