Agree. I think Vance is smarter than Trump (low bar) but the scarier part of it is everyone else in MAGA who’s in government now and what they can do no matter if it’s Trump or Vance.
I say this all the time but I still believe we can stop it. Good just has to win and I think we’re as close to the brink as America has ever been. Stay strong and vote blue!

I should not read 'political nightmare' threads right before I'm going to bed. It isn't as though I hadn't thought about Vance as president but it isn't something I want to sleep on.

I mean ... unless they've already set aside the constitution (possible), doesn't the VP have to become president if the pres dies? Not saying he'd be elected for another term. I think Vance is even worse than Trump. He's in the same box with Ted Cruz as far as I can see. |

It looks like this is Vance's entire angle. He's an opportunist, so kissing up to the one he previously called America's Hitler gets him into the VP spot, banking on the probability that Trump drops dead before four years is up. Vance slides in as president, slam dunk.

I looked this up once when Biden was still running. What happens if a nominee dies or between the convention and the election? I think in the Republicans case, the RNC chooses the nominee. Since ballots are already being printed and mailed. I can't imagine they could choose someone else but Vance. This election is enough of a nightmare. I hope we make it to election day with our current nominees and their running mates. |

IMO best case scenario Harris wins the election, preferably by a lot, and TFG is so upset he is hospitalized with some ‘got too upset to communicate anymore’ medical issue & unable to lie in/to the media.
Vance is just not as influential with the MAGAts as TFG, nor is he believable. He just didn’t go to the same lie school TFG did and he doesn’t seem to know that you NEVER admit you made it up no matter what is proved, you just keep lying the same lie.

Everything in me says that Harris/Walz has this in the bag. But then I thought that back in 2016 about Clinton. My anxiety level is way up there.
I really need to stop reading stuff on Facebook. My distain for trump/vance is too much for me to keep quiet. I need to stop interacting with maga people on there. I'm not equipped to handle it anymore! LOL!
I hadn't seen anything that vance wants to invoke amendment 25 against trump. If true, maybe their whole campaign will just implode. That would be nice.

JD Vance is no Mike Pence. He will invoke the 25th at the first chance he gets. He is a scary fuck that everyone should fear.
The VP can resign but cannot be fired or replaced. This is why Pence stayed the entire term and why the orange piece of shit wants a constitutional amendment saying the 25th applies to the VP as well.
As creepy as Pence is, he believes in the constitution and essentially democracy. I truly believe he was the only thing standing in trumps way from running amok. He also didn’t want to go down in history as the VP that invoked the 25th. That’s why it didn’t happen. He has balls but they are small.
