I'm apple pie american and I have never used "fixings" in a conversation. Don't spoil my fun! j/k. But I have seen it used here at 2 Peas many times. Oh, and I have also started using y'all in my everyday conversation. I love that word, it just so versatile. And it's better than the Aussie version youse.

Well here's an interesting thing that happened to me today...I got a job interview. For a job I applied for months ago. After a few weeks had passed I lost total interest. But apparently it just takes them three months to interview. Some places are just slow 😳 - one job DH applied for took months - he applied in October and interviewed reasonably quickly and then waited until April to be notified that he was successful! I probably would have not worried about it but for him it was a great move and he worked in the field for the next 20+ years. good luck with your interview

I also don't use 'fixings" but I live in the south and it's very common here - along with fixin' to go somewhere/do something.
