Hi, good morning scrapmaven. I'm sorry about your tablet, but it's good to see you here this morning. I am hoping this is a good treatment day for you and that you get a good tune up on your trip. I'm hoping The Birdhouse Lady can check in. I mean back surgery, though, is a big deal, so it's understandable if she can't. But we are all hoping for a good update. Chloe finally reached out to me around 7pm last night. She said she fell asleep and she had a raging headache. Unfortunately, so did I. I've known since Sunday night she wanted to get together and talk to me this week and the anxiety has been killing me. Each day that goes by I get more ramped up and more ramped up. I am most certain that this is the reason I even told my coworker on Monday that she was condescending. I normally would not have said that, but I was quite fed up and emotions running on high to begin with. I'm resisting the urge to apologize. I'm not going to do it. I swear, I'm not going to apologize! Chloe said she'd come at 4 pm today. I barely slept last night, but chances are the anticipation will be much worse than the aftermath. So we will see. I think I'm going to make crispy lentils with yogurt sauce over rice. A salad on the side.

Happy Wednesday! Welcome to Texas scrapmaven! Hope you had a good trip. Yesterday's offsite meeting with my team was fun. I really like the people I work with and it's fun to get together in person once in awhile and connect. After dinner, I went with my sisters to our local winery and shared a couple of bottles. It was so nice to sit outside as it wasn't swelteringly hot. All in all, a good day! I'm not sure what dinner will be tonight. I've got to pickup my grocery order at lunch so we'll see what I feel like making tonight. I'll probably have my parents over or take dinner to them. Hope you all have a great day!

Hello all, I am on the train to meet with my after school peeps for coffee, after the kids all go home. It means that I’ll be late home for dinner and I may not want anything to eat, depending on what I eat at the cafe, we’ll see. Apart from that, I haven’t done much today. I went to bed last night at half time in our football game and woke up to find we’d won 9-2! So I found the replay and watched the second half while I ate breakfast. I’ve done a bit of knitting research for a friend as well. She has a pay she likes, but doesn’t know how to do all the stitches, so I’m meeting her tomorrow to gel her out. She is the second friend who has asked for my knitting brain in the past two weeks - maybe I should just start classes! jeremysgirl - hopefully today will work out with Chloe scrapmaven - all the best with your treatment. @birdhouselady - thinking of you as you recover from your surgery

You're lucky you're not local to me sueg because I'd be picking your knitting brain too. But just for the sake of equity, I would allow you to pick my crochet brain. LOL!

Good Morning all! Welcome to Texas scrapmaven. I hope your appointments and treatment goes well. jeremysgirl I'm sorry that Chloe is stringing you along and the anticipation is building. I hope you have a good visit with her today. DH went to a meeting this morning, I'm juggling the puppy, several calls and trying to shower this morning. We are going to dinner with my BIL and SIL this evening. Have a great day everyone!

Happy Wednesday! This has turned out to be a busy week and I'm running around in circles it seems. Drama in the neighborhood yesterday. I heard helicopters circling when I left for cards yesterday but didn't think too much of it. About 10 min. later a neighbor called and told me to stay inside and lock all the doors if I was home. Turns out there was a home invasion 2 blocks away and a police officer was shot (he'll be fine, already released from hospital) and they were searching for the 3rd suspect. They finally caught him late yesterday afternoon so we can breathe a bit easier. Turns out the first two they caught were posing as a door dash delivery driver and when the young mom opened the door to tell them they had the wrong address, they pulled a gun on her and then ransacked the house. She and her 2 young toddlers are fine physically but having been robbed I know they are going to be dealing with the emotions for some time to come. Ladies - NEVER open your door to strangers you are not expecting (especially in a place like Houston)! So a lot of interacting with neighbors yesterday as a result.
Back to the hospital today (getting very close to being moved to rehab!) and then need to make a return on the way home. Not sure what dinner will be but I do plan to get in some sewing tonight so it will be simple.

I hope the visit goes smoothly. scrapmaven - best wishes for you **GypsyGirl** - WOW - glad everyone is going to be okay but yikes. Glad your husband is continuing to improve. I'm sure you'll breathe easier once he's in rehab. hutchfan - your day sounds an awful lot like mine. Dinner tonight is chicken taquitos

Weird morning! I overslept but made it to the pool on time. Cloudy and cold so there weren't many of us. Then it rained for a while but the water was warm and we had fun. Then I walked all the way to my car and realized I had left my water bottle by the pool Back to get that then finally got home. Just took a shower and we'll eat lunch early because I have a color and cut at noon. jeremysgirl , I hope it goes well with Chloe. Please do not apologize to your co-worker. She deserves anything you said and MUCH more! **GypsyGirl** how scary for that young mom. scrapmaven, glad you made it safely to Texas. We ended up going to a late afternoon movie yesterday and ate out so today will be grilled Tri-tip steaks. I'm guessing this sign is from either Louisiana or Florida.

I would open the door too ... something to think about.

Happy Wednesday! I'm solo tonight (DH on a 72-hour shift, all kids at college/with other parents) so I'm going to make chicken, potatoes, and green beans and have leftovers for the next couple of days. I'm making this recipe for the first time: Oven Baked Chicken BreastI will probably make the green beans and potatoes in the air fryer, so they are extra crispy.

You could make money at this by sharing your knowledge. I would sign up but no yarn hobby teachers cannot fix my tension.

my usual paid transportation for my sister person was out of town, and yesterday, the backup person cancelled at the last minute. so I set up a lyft car to pick her up for medical appt.
even though we rehearsed her calling me at certain times, and for some reason her phone was not letting my calls or texts go through, I talked to her at 8:45.. reminded her to call at 10:15.. finally got a hold of her at 10:22.. and the lyft driver was calling her name.. or she would have never found the car! what a headache. now I have to call one to get her home, but there is help at the desk of the medical center if she needs it. so I got in 30 minutes of exercise and now have a few more errands to accomplish.
I think I will get take out.. as the list of to do stuff gets longer and longer. so maybe falafels.. or kebabs.
very very thick fog this morning.. 1 block visibility. now some sun breaking out.
tomorrow they are paving my street. so will have to play a parking game.. and do some walking.
my son has been unemployed for several months and has been frustrated in looking.. he did not want to go back to his old career of bartending and/or serving. so after seeing a tv ad, he went down to the electrical union to check it out. he tried doing this like 4-5 yrs ago, and got stuck trying to get through the process. so prayers that this works out. it would be a career path and he wants to work.. he hates sitting around. he has 3 yrs of college. so big hopes!! that it works out.
now need to run to store and to get the family tickets to new zealand finalized.

Hoping The Birdhouse Lady is recovering well after surgery. scrapmaven.....hoping your awesome doc can help you feel better! **GypsyGirl**....that poor Mom and her kids! Last night I had a bad headache.....managable, but bad. The chance of precip. Thurs is 40%. I usually get the headaches 2 days before the rain. Annnnd then today I had a *severe* headache. DH has a garage and workshop full of tools /machinery, and we always joke that I want to put my head into one of his vises!! If it does indeed rain tomorrow, hopefully the headaches will stop (until the next storm!) I'm about to go shopping and planning to ignore that almost every. single. joint. in my body hurts. Making DH one of his faves for his birthday tonight....arroz con pollo (chicken and rice). I need a few ingredients, plus, I'm gonna look at fun Halloween decorations. I don't NEED any, I just have fun looking! For the chocolate cake he loves for his birthday--to increase depth of flavor-- instead of plain boiling water, I use coffee. Instead of plain milk--buttermilk. DH always worries when I go anywhere in pain, but as I tell him, it's better to go DO something instead of being in misery at home. He also wants me to see yet ANOTHER doctor, but I'm sooooo sick of seeing them. We were HOPING to travel to see family for Thanksgiving/ Christmas....it has been too long. But I'm seriously doubting how I can travel this way.

Dinner tonight is a mystery and I have no clue what I will eat. I think there is one hamburger in the freezer (we get these awesome ones) and will cook that. I have salad, tomatoes, cucumber, and maybe fried onions. I could also have breakfast for dinner. There might be some bacon left.
I need to go to the quilting re-store and buy some rulers. I will go after I get my hair done. Yay!!!
Things at Dexter’s house are very nice. Everyone is happy.

My onc wants to do a wait and see on my skin issue as it is responding to the antibiotic, so I was able to get my infusion today. **GypsyGirl**, what a scary event for your neighborhood! I usually open the door to anyone in the daytime. Coffee is a great add to chocolate cake, scrappintoee. I have my girlfriend happy hour this afternoon, so dinner is leftover lasagne and one of the kids will make a Caesar salad to go with it.

jeremysgirl I hope things go well / went well with Chloe today. xx The Birdhouse Lady I look forward to hearing from you, and hope that all went well with surgery. We were told last week that we have to start going into the office TWO days a week now, instead of just one. That's the hugest bummer. I am trying my best to put a positive spin on it, but honestly, the idea of wasting nearly three hours a day travelling into town and back is just.... shit. Anyway, I went into the office yesterday (Wednesday) and as I was driving home from the train station, I passed the local shopping square and thought to myself that I would suggest Fish & Chips or lamb souvlaki for dinner. When I got home I discovered that DSO had some lamb in the slow cooker, and all the fixings for lamb souvos! Isn't he clever?! (I think I am turning into an American. I just used the word "fixings" in a sentence hahaha!!)

Things with Chloe today were...cordial. she basically talked about work. She was here for an hour. I listened, threw in some nice comments, she left and I cried. I was kind of wanting her to own some of the behavior. But Jeremy and Delta Dawn were both like, it's an opening. So we shall see what happens next. My dinner was fabulous. Broiled lentils are chefs kiss.
