My stepdaughter hosted a wine party back in 2018ish. It was fun! I can’t remember the name of the company, but I am sure it was a MLM se up.

The last one I went to was Lia Sofia. The host friend who invited me was very chill saying just come you don’t need to buy anything. The consultant however was the most obnoxious, pushy and aggressive woman who was demanding everyone throw their own parties and buy a lot at this one. It felt like a hostage situation. They rely on your friendship to the host for you to make overpriced pity purchases to support your friend. The friend I came with told me she was very uncomfortable and wanted to leave and we literally got up and ran out the door to escape this horrible consultant. It was that bad. I’m now very vocal about being anti MLM and I would never attend another party.

I don't remember when it was, but it had to be before I moved in 2013. We (my work friends and me) had an endless ring of Lia Sophia parties. Those were fun because we'd all go out to the bar after. I really liked everything I got from those.
I also had a Candle Lite party that was fun, and bought some candles and a few holders that I still have.
Went to a sex toy party once for "girls night out" but never hosted that one.
I attended virtual Pampered Chef parties and one online Scentsy party. I still use my pizza stones and all of it fairly regularly, and I love my Scentsy warmer BUT it's made to only perform well with their wax blends so it's tricky melting other melts in it unless you know what wax they use. Bastards!
Although I hosted a few parties over the years, I never got into the MLM thing for myself because it didn't appeal to me. I'm not a natural salesperson.

It's been many, many years. The only ones we were really into were Home Interiors. I had that crap all over my house in the late 80s/early 90s. We always served fuzzy navels and the more we drank, the more we ordered. Our consultant loved us. I have been invited to a few others over the years but I always decline the invitation. OMG - I loved Home Interiors stuff. Loved it all. I recognize some of the pictures and Knick knacks of theirs at Antique malls and such. Always brings a smile to my face. Good times. 😊

I went to a virtual party for Tupperware maybe in the last 5 years. The only reason I did it was for my cousin. Always happy to throw a bone to help a friend - just don't ask me to do anything beyond a purchase!

In my post earlier, I forgot about the sex toy parties. I attended one and then later several girlfriends threw one for me when my husband and I were engaged. Uproariously fun!

I don't even know how long ago I've been to one in person. I sold Tupperware for about ten years when I was a young mother and most of my parties were also young mothers and it was a form of entertainment for them so we would hold a party once a month for certain circles. Over the years I've been to Pampered Chef, "those parties ( ", Partylite, Home Interiors, Stampin Up, Creative Memories, Creative Circle (needlework party plan), Mary Kay and many more I can't remember. When I was a kid in the 60's my mom was a Beeline sales person which was a clothing line that sold at home parties.

Over a decade if we are speaking in person. On-line was maybe 5 years or so, Thirty-one & Pampered Chef.
I own 4 Thirty one items. All but 1 had a specific use in mind. The 4th is the large tote for $10. It gets used occasionally.
The skinny spatula from PC is used often in our house. It’s about time to order a few more. 😂
My sister had a candle party a couple of times, early in her adult life. I didn’t participate in any way. I feel rather bad about it. Unfortunately, I was so done with home parties and had way too many candles. I still have some in the storage room from that time period.
I remember the last one. Mary Kay. Went with a friend to support her niece. We both ended up with food poisoning. The product I purchased made my skin look like scales. Passed it all on to my friend. Not sure when, though.

I went to an at-home, learn to make freezer meals prep thing that was also a Pampered Chef party in I want to say 2016.
I've also gone to three virtual Facebook parties, because a friend was hosting, since then one was for nails, two were Pampered Chef. The most recent was last summer, I ordered a cherry pitter (it arrived after cherry season ended so I haven't used it yet) and a half-spatula thing.

Back in my military spouse days, there seemed to be one once a month or so. They were very popular in our community because you can move your business with you when you have to PCS.
I sold Longaberger from 1995-2011 and made a ton of money. It paid for DH’s first masters degree and all of our fertility treatments. It got me out of the house and I made a ton of friends. I’d like to think that it was low pressure, but I’m sure some were obligated to buy. The last few years, I couldn’t sell to anyone under DH’s command which really limited me, so I stopped selling. If anyone needs a basket, let me know. I have hundreds!

There were tiny little pencil-topper penises, perfect Barbie size. Mine still lives in one of my Barbie's purses. A special surprise for one of my future grandchildren to find!

I was going to say it was around 2006, just before we moved to CA, that a friend started selling home decor items and I swear the company was called Southern Living. I managed to get out of buying anything at her second party since we were packed up and ready to move, but still have a pretty metal & glass tray and set of small glass dip serving pieces used on every charcuterie board I've ever put together.
Then I looked up Stella and Dot because I didn't know what they sold, which made me remember going to a couple jewelry parties 10ish years ago, so 2013 maybe. A friend's DD was technically organizing them for a 3 Day Walk fundraiser to put on her college applications, but her mom did all the invites, food and hosting. Can't for the life of me remember what the company was called but it was very pricey for what you got IMHO.

If so, I sure can't think of what it would have been.

I think the last one would have been a Tupperware party that I hosted for one of the school mums about 18 years ago. I did it as a favour to the mum of a new girl in my daughter's class, who was trying to get her Tupperware business up and going. I don't know why I even helped that beotch - her husband was a pastor, and she didn't approve of my life choices (two children out of wedlock) and certainly let me know it. Sorry, I went off tangent there!

I had a friend who sold a kind of clothing capsule wardrobe back in the 90s, and I hosted a party for her. The clothes were very versatile - a skirt could also be worn as a dress, etc and made from a fine jersey knit. I can’t remember the name of the company, but I’m sure they were Canadian.

As a child, I remember attending many house parties with my mom-tupperware, home interior, some tubes that she used to draw on pre-drawn items, Avon lady. For me, I hosted one and attended many Mary Kay parties. I remember attending a crystal party in a college friend's small married housing apartment, and I bought one small item. Through the years, I attended pampered chef parties, which have evolved into virtual parties. I love the PC items that I bought. My Avon lady still comes to see me, but she admits the company isn't what it used to be, so I expect that to eventually end.

Maybe 2005-ish I was invited by a friend to a Creative Memories weekend crop/party. I asked about bringing “contraband” so she talked with the rep, who said no problem. There were four of us who weren’t pure CM scrappers.
When we arrived, there was assigned seating at the cropping tables. All the pure CM ladies were placed in an area close together. There was an alcove area where those of us with contraband were seated. It was quite obvious that the rep didn’t want us to bring the others over to the dark side.
I took my Crucut and set it up. Before long, the purists were asking to use the Cricut. The. They’d look at our layouts and drool over them. I think I corrupted quite a few of them over the course of a couple of days. 😀
Each of us at the outcast table DID purchase quite a few costly things from the rep, so she should have been grateful. She didn’t say much to us all weekend, though.

As a child I loved it when the Avon lady would come. It seemed so glamorous. In the early 90’s my friends would host Tiara glassware. I loved that stuff and have some crystal cut wine glasses we use and some cute snack plates and bowls. I think it’s been about 15 years since I’ve been to an in-home party. I miss the getting together. Now most are online. I think the last one was some years ago and it was a lipstick that stays one. It was online and I ended up tossing the product.

Jan 2023 Wine Shop at Home. Planned on hosting one in Feb but then my mom had her stroke and my life got put on hold for a bit.
Actually wait, I forgot I just went to a Tastefully Simple I think I’m March of this year. I got a seasoning that we really like on our pork and chicken. I got a slushy bucket thingy for DD.

I've never gone to one of those parties. I was afraid if I went to one friend's party, then I'd feel like I had to go to every other friend's as well. And then I'd be buying something at each one, and I'd wind up with a pile of stuff I never wanted and an empty wallet.

I’ve been to quite a few parties. Stampin Up, Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, Partylite plus others. I hosted a few parties, but I was lucky to get $17 of sales so I never really got many of the hostess rewards. Except for Stampin Up.

The last in person party was Norwex about ten years ago or so. The last one I hosted was also Norwex a couple years before that. I’ve bought from a few online parties that my friend’s kids hosted just to help them qualify for some big thing they wanted to get.
Honestly my favorite way to get MLM products is to win it in a silent auction. I’ve bought a lot of Stampin’ Up, CTMH, 31 Bags, Tastefully Simple and Pampered Chef things that way and usually end up getting it for less than what I would pay at retail + the crazy high shipping those places always tack on.

In person, it was probably in the early 2000's. The last time I bought something was an online Usborne Books party that a mom friend hosted probably 8 years ago? I've been invited to other stuff through the years but never went to anything. I know a few people who still sell - Doterra and one of the nail wrap brands. Oh, and a local woman dm'd me on Instagram a couple of years ago about Beachbody after I viewed some of her stories.
My mom still went to them in person before she retired. She used to ask me if I wanted something if they were near Christmas or my birthday lol.

I went to a LOT of them when I worked in the hospital 1980-1999 Mary Kay, Tupperware, some plant thing, sex toys, Pampered Chef, 31 bags, Tastefully Simple, DOTS, Creative Memories, Stampin Up, Home Interiors, Lia Sophia, Longaberger...... and those are just the ones I remember. I remember one girl had at least one home party a month. One day, someone asked her why every time she was invited to her house, she had to bring her checkbook? I never forgot that. Currently I am stuck buying things because a close relative is selling three different lines: Mary Kay, Zyia (its exercise clothes), and Epicure (it's like Tastefully Simple. I know she is trying to make money but I wish she would get out of this MLM stuff. Honestly, I think all MLM should be illegal. It really preys upon women. I hate it. On the other hand, if one looks hard enough you can always find someone selling this stuff at a discount. I look for them.
