I currently organize my stamps sets by brand. I have a lot of simon, lawn fawn, ctmh and stamps of life. I have other brands too but those are my most common ones. Do you organize by brand or theme?
I've been considering switching it up to theme
I do have probably 200 ctmh sets and those are somewhat organized by theme. I have them organized winter, spring, summer, fall and sentiments.

Theme works well for a lot of people, but for my brain, organizing by brand has always been my personal choice. My clear photopolymer stamps are in pockets by brand, though for some brands I have a lot of, I often sub-organize by theme or alphabetical order within that brand’s location. They’re in the top levels of 2 IKEA Raskog carts for easy flipping/finding.
And my red rubber stamps like Unity, Stampers Anonymous, backgrounds, etc are in Tim Holtz binders (the original chocolate brown ones from waaaaay back), also by brand. One is labeled Miscellaneous as a catch-all for the rubber stamp brands I don’t have enough of to fill a binder. I got into a pickle when I eventually desperately needed another couple of those long-discontinued binders. Eventually found a pair on Ebay, but it hurt the wallet because the seller knew they were impossible to find, lol.

I organize by brand and then theme within the brand. I do have all my cover plate dies together. But I separate by brand in there. I use the stamp market organization system and fridge bins. So I can easily see my brands and sub categories.
For shaped dies like circles, rectangles, etc. I have large magnetic sheets I got from stamp n storage. I put those on open frames. I store all my rectangle dies on one, circles another, etc. if items have stand, dies, stencils, I keep them all together in the same storage pocket. If I have several items of one collection I have it by brand with a divided tab with the name of that collection so I remember all those items go together.

I started a binder system many years ago that still works for me. My binder is be theme so when I get a new set I stamp it and number it then file in it’s appropriate place in my binder. The stamp set goes in a pocket which also is numbered. When I go to make a birthday card I go to my binder and look at the stamps in that category then pull out the numbered sets I’ll need.
It’s not for everyone but I’ve been doing it for so long, long before polymer stamps came out, that I just continued it.

I’ve been collecting stamps longer than some here. I started stamping when I was a young mom, and I was a stamper before I was a scrapbooker. I have often incorporated stamps into my layouts. Because I have been collecting for decades, I have a huge collection. Before we moved halfway across the country 8 years ago, I knew the weight of all of my wood mounted stamps would be an issue. I unmounted and converted them to peel & stick stamps and organized them mostly in the now discontinued PSB zipped binders. Sadly, PSB binders are no longer available, so I’ve had to put some in zipped school binders, which I don’t like as well. They don’t hold as many stamps, and they have extra bulk with pockets. I rarely feel a need to buy stamps anymore.
For each binder, I stamped images on a sheet of card stock, put it in a plastic page protector, then stuck those stamps on the back side of a plastic sheet, which I slipped inside the page protector pocket behind the stamped sheet.
I have mostly sorted my stamps by theme, although MFT and G45 have their own (school) binders.
When Close to My Heart changed their stamps from wood mounted to the peel & stick stamps that were in plastic envelopes, I started buying them and their containers, which I loved. Again, I sorted by theme, and labeled the containers. I keep them separate.
Despite my huge collection, I can find what I want for any project very fast. Even if there were no more scrapbook stores or craft stores, I could keep scrapbooking forever. I would simply stamp my backgrounds, as well as my embellishments. I sometimes do that, anyway, when I can’t find the right paper in my stash. It’s not as fast as using store bought papers and embellishments, but some of my favorite layouts are those where I stamped my background paper and/or embellishments.

I organize by theme. I would never remember everything I have just by brand name. And some brands I have very few, so that would be silly.
ETA: My theme are a little more specific than yours:
Example: Holiday / Seasons Floral / Foliage Alphas / Numbers City / State - for Kerri Bradford/Studio Calico type stamps Sentiments
I have more that I don't remember right now. But in the end I guess it would depend on what type of stamps each has.

Organized stamps? What's that?? I have no system to mine yet, but am going to have to do something soon!
Most of mine are from Crop & Create Delivered card events, so right now, I'm keeping the stamps with the dies/stencils/whatever else in pouches for each event. Each event has it's own box and booklet, so I can find what I'm looking for usually.

You’ve probably heard it before but it helps to think about how your brain would describe the stamp - does brand come first when you visualize what you’re looking for or do you go looking for a birthday stamp and then narrow down to brand? And do you like the serendipity of browsing or do you like to find the exact stamp you have in mind asap?
My experience isn’t much help because I don’t have a big stash and mine are sorted into bigger stamps at the back, smaller sets at the front, and sentiment, background, and Xmas stored in their own little sections next to that. When I forget that I reclassified my fall leaf set as a background I only waste about a minute leafing through all of my image stamps twice before I remember.
I had mine loosely arranged by brand within the sizes but I’m absolutely terrible at putting stamps back in the same spot (I often leave the one I just used at the front so I will remember what I wanted to do with it next) so that’s also a consideration.

I organize by theme. I do have many of my favorite brands, but I just don’t think brand first, then topic.
I would sort by brand if I was on a design team as then the brand would be important. But for me the brand is secondary to the content.

Mine are currently sorted by size, and that works okay for now, but I don't think this is the final iteration of organizing for me. I think I would prefer by theme and will head that way eventually.

It's theme for me. When I want to make a birthday card I want to find all the birthday related stamps in one place, then decide which I'll use.
I am frustrated by the size differences amongst my stamps so I'm tempted to split some of the larger sets between two pockets so that they can all fit nicely in one kind of bin.

I organize by brand. I also formerly used Evernote and now use Bear App to catalog my stamps with a full image of the stamp set and coordinating dies. I also catalog my stand alone dies, stencils and embossing folders. Using tags to search for something is AMAZING!.

I use bins and organize by theme, then by brand within the theme. I also have my Pinterest organized in a similar fashion.

Theme, labeled in clear bins and envelopes. There are bins for just stamps then bins for stamp and die sets, organized by theme in clear envelops with magnetic sheets, stamps in the front of envelope, dies on the backside of the envelope.
Solo dies are the same but with the magnetic sheets in the envelopes.
Now stencils and embossing folders, each have their own bins but no organization.

So, I recently reorganized my supplies by purpose. Focal image stamps, dies, stencils, and embossing folders are together in two bins (smaller and larger). Background stamps, stencils, and embossing folders are together in one bin. Sentiment stamps and dies are together in one bin. There's a fifth small bin of basic shape and edge dies.
It sounds a little bonkers, but it's working for me.
Within the bins is a rough sort by height and/or brand.

I too am a clear envelope in a clear bin girl.
I organize free standing dies separately from stamp and die sets. Foil and press plates (I don't have many of them) have a small shared bin.
Then within those I organize by category.
Right now I do have two lines separated in their own bins because I have quite a bit of them from events. They are PinkFresh and Concord and 9th. One day I may incorporated them it with the rest of the stamps and dies, but for now it works for me.

I sort by theme. It gives me a better idea of my choices and sometimes I can combine brands for cards and layouts. For storage I use binders. Not my ideal system but it’s space saving. I put the stamps, and matching dies, if applicable, into plastic envelopes. I use sheet protectors that have 2-4 pockets on the front. I buy them at a place that sells various sizes of sports cards.
When I get a new set of stamps I stamp them out. The images go into a small binder, sectioned off with dividers. This way I always know what I have and how it looks.

Mine are organized by brand.
For those that organize by theme, what do you do when there are sentiments and florals or other images besides sentiments? That's what gets me.

I store all my clear stamps in A4 binders, and then they are semi sorted by theme. There is a Christmas, Alphas, Stamp and Die, Layered Stamp and Die, A4 size Stamp sets, Mini Stamp sets, Odd size stamp sets, 2 x 6 x 4 sized stamp sets and an Older stamp sets (my old 20 yr old ones). The stamps are in assorted plastic pockets, like trading card pockets, 4 pocket for the 6 x 4 ones and full size A4 ones. I know it is a kinda weird system, but it works for me. Rubber stamps are stored in a box in dvd cases. Wood mounted are on a display shelf...I like the look of that. I have forever struggled Gizzy with how to categorise stamp sets with sentiments and asst images....I hope you find a solution.

The mentions of Bear & Evernote reminded me to mention that putting all of my craft items (not just stamps and dies) into the Color My Life app was an absolute game-changer. Love that there’s a spot for you to enter the item’s location and you can be as specific or broad as you like, and there’s a note feature that I use often, especially for things like “has a matching die set” or “in same pocket with Such-and-Such stamp set from same company”.
Keyword searching is how I start out if I know I want to create a certain theme of card or layout but want to quickly glance through what I have that matches that theme or has a specific sentiment like “Thinking of You”, which is in a zillion sets, but I might gravitate toward one style or font over all the others.
It’s a bit of work to get everything entered into the app from the beginning, but super easy to add a few items here or there as they come in, and my goodness, it’s so worth it to me to be able to optimize searching without digging, and knowing immediately what all of my options are.

I'm also a CML app user and it's stopped me from making duplicate stamp purchases multiple times. I've gotten into the habit that as soon as I'm done placing an order for something online, I get it entered into the app. I agree with the pp, game changer! I tend to use the desktop version over the phone app version just because full keyboard > no keyboard. Whichever app you choose - I highly recommend having a way to keep yourself organized (and not keep it all in your head - eventually it will fail you)!

By brand for the most part. I've thought about switching to theme, but it's too overwhelming.
Christmas is by theme though. All sentiment only sets are also store in a sentiments section, not by brand.
