Youngest dd has been thinking about expanding her Etsy store and looking at various laser cutters/engravers. There is a Glowforge Plus for sale on FB Marketplace at a really good price. Can the peas give me the good, the bad and the ugly?

It appears I even commented on that thread and completely forgot about it!
Hmmm my big worry is the ease of use.

I have an xtool m1 10w. I have read mixed reviews about glowforge. I’d have her verify how many hours it has been used. Look to see how it has been maintained ( cleaned, parts replaced). I’d also say she needs to see it in action prior to purchase to make sure it is working properly.
As for venting I have mine in my office and run a hose out the window. Also they can catch fire so you can’t start it and walk away.

I use an x-tool D1 10w pro in my classroom. It has a surround on it (eye protection and ventilation) and it's got a fan and dryer hose type thing that I throw out the window when I run it. I have no regrets on my x-tool. It IS a Chinese laser so there are things that go along with that. I was looking at a Glowforge but went with x-tool over it.
There are things you can attach to the laser to have it clean the air so you can run it inside a room. That said, there are mixed reviews on that. I think it's a smoke filtration system?
