Good Morning. What's for dinner? Dh has been thawing some of the stuff I made for him and is enjoying that, as well as his own cooking. What is everyone up to today? I have my appt and then I have to pack. I'm sending my big suitcase home tmw. I've been knitting for relaxation and when I make a mistake I just hop over to YouTube. It's not perfect, but I might be ready for a small project. scrappert, thank you for coming back to us. This is an empty table w/o you. We're here and one the best things about this tribe is that we will always listen and have your back. naby64, I'm thinking of your dh and you. jeremysgirl, Good luck on your interview. I'm sending you all of the get-the-great-job vibes. How is everyone doing? Enjoy today and may it be a positive, happy one w/good news.

Wishing everyone a terrific Tuesday! We are grabbing dinner out. I have the dreaded female exam today and back to the eye doctor again to get my glasses corrected. Thankful we are getting some very much needed rain.

Thanks everyone!! It's really a situation where, in my mind, there is no good outcome. One of us will be happy with it and one of us will not be. And a lesson will or will not be learned and we will move on. One of us with resentment in her heart. scrappert I am so sorry to read of your horrific fall and resulting injuries. jeremysgirl best of luck with your interview! scrapmaven sounds like the way I knit and crochet. Completely self taught here and way before Youtube. I love being able to pull it up and find what I need. My kids gave me a clear, 3-D puzzle of a hedgehog for Mother's Day. I finally sat down Saturday night. Was horrified with the one page Ikeaish instructions. So what finally clicked? Hey, I bet there is a YT for this. It still took me about 45 minutes but I did it! I am thinking dinner will probably be smashed potatoes, garlicky green beans and a pork chop for H. I have some crispy tofu I'll throw in the air fryer to see if I can make it crispier and have that. With same veggies and some sauerkraut.

Happy Tuesday! Glad you're enjoying your time here in TX, scrapmaven! I enjoyed knitting for a time but never learned to fix my mistakes so I did a lot of unraveling! Today is a fairly quiet day. Both my boss and my co-worker are out on PTO so I'm covering for them. Hopefully, there won't be any fires to put out but I'm ready just in case. Epic Mickey is being re-released today after 14 years so I'll be buying that and hoping to get a chance to play tonight. Dinner will be spaghetti and I'll probably end up taking some to my parents. Hope you all have a great day!

I have some chicken and peppers so either I will make fajitas or freeze the chicken and grab ground meat out of the freezer for unstuffed pepper casserole. I have options! Thank you, it has been something! Before this, I was grieving the loss of my dad and having a rough time as there were so many other losses going on. I was having a hard time going to work and would cry at work and wishing for time to off and alone. Welp, I guess I got that. And be carful what you wish for. This is not at all what I meant. We are still trying to settle dad's condo and there were power outages, blown circuit breakers, bad water heater, and trying to figure out how to get the things that I want and my son wants, back here. Thankfully my sister is closer and she is well organized and can get things done. I am in no shape to help, still can't do much as we don't want to put any pressure on the nerve. So heavy lifting is off the table for now. Oh boy. I feel so bad leaving all this work for her. Good luck jeremysgirlAnd prayers for H naby64

Good morning all! As always, I try to keep up and send good thoughts out into the world for everyone even though I haven't been posting. We are good here. The semester is underway with the usual challenges and delightful moments. I always have to remind myself that teaching first year students is a while 'nother thing!! My juniors have their own face-palm moments, but the freshmen are getting their footing in a very different way. Bless their hearts, lol! This is my 25th (?) year teaching and it is still a wild ride sometimes. Love it!
Dinner is meatballs over mashed potatoes. On Mondays and Tuesdays I teach and have a long commute so Nick has agreed he will take care of dinner on those days, either by doing something simple I set up for him, ordering takeout or we will go out. Last night he put stuffed shells and a baguette into the oven that we assembled together Sunday afternoon. This morning I have put the meatballs together with gravy and seasonings in a crockpot liner in the fridge and he will drop it in the crockpot when he gets home this afternoon on high. I'm gone for 10hrs today or I'd do it myself...that's way to long for this meal to go all day, so this will work. The Bob Evans mashed potatoes and a steamed veggie will make a quick meal.
So loving the cooler weather, even rainy. I hope to have some time in a coffeehouse this week, reading or grading. I did the outside decorations and took some family pictures to celebrate the fur babies' 5th birthday. Some of you have already seen them on FB but I'll try to post a couple here if I get a chance. I made a cake I was really happy with and the girls got new dresses...yes, we are ridiculous! π€£
Much love to everyone...grateful you all are here and wish for you happiness today!

I've been knitting for relaxation and when I make a mistake I just hop over to YouTube. It's not perfect, but I might be ready for a small project. I'm so glad to hear that. My scarf is taking me 582 years to get an inch done. Hahahaha... It's frustrating me how slow it's going. Good luck on your interview. I'm sending you all of the get-the-great-job vibes. best of luck with your interview! Thank you. I've got my hair done and I'm debating whether I really *need* makeup. It's an online interview so I'm unsure if they will even be able to see me that close up enough to notice I'm not wearing mascara. LOL! If it is the recipe from the book, Jeremy is begging me to make them. And he's not even a big potato guy. I have my interview at 11:30 and then I'm taking my cat to the vet at 2 today and then I have the dentist at 4 (just a cleaning). When I get home I will make some green peppers stuffed with tomatoes, lentils and quinoa.

Good afternoon all,
Itβs another week here where I will hardly see DH. He got in after I was in bed last night and left for the airport before I woke this morning. He did leave me a small gift though - last night he was at Oktoberfest with a group from work and he was in charge of food and drink vouchers. They must have had a no show, or some who didnβt eat/drink their quota, so I now have vouchers for 3 MaΓ of beer (thatβs 3 X 1 liter glasses) and β¬40 in food vouchers (2 X β¬20). I was planning on going for lunch tomorrow after my hairdresser appointment - salon is 10 minute walk from the fest - so now it will be almost free! Iβll just need to cover a tip on the beer and any extra over β¬20 on what I decide to eat. Oh, in case anyone is wondering, there is NO WAY I will drink 3 litres of beer! One will be plenty.
Today I had no plans, so I called my nail salon and she was able to take me in at 2pm, so I am now home with pretty pink finger and toe nails, all set for vacation next week..

Happy Tuesday! Having the hardest time getting going this morning. Would love to stay in bed until noon, but too much going on for that! Going to see DH this morning and then have a couple of errands to run. Need to drop a new dress with my alterations lady. Cute shirtwaist dress that is about 4" too long. That's the usual amount it seems so I have decided I am 4" too short. Then I need to stop by J. McLaughin to size down in a belt and a sweater. Went with DD there Sunday afternoon to look at clothes for her and ended up with a dress, sweater and belt for myself. She walked out with an entire fall work wardrobe, courtesy of mom & dad. She is self supporting but that girl has been such a godsend this year for us and I was feeling generous. Fortunately both those errands are between the hospital and home. Not sure what dinner will be. Something easy as I want to spend some time in the sewing room tonight. Haven't made it in there for the past two nights. scrapmaven - Have a good day. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow! jeremysgirl - Sending you all the good luck vibes! scrappert - Nice to see you again. Hope things start to get better for you.

I am texting to gamer boy and he's laughing at me. I couldn't do Zelda or Hogwart's Legacy. I am more of an AC or Disney Dreamlight Valley kind of girl. However, he said he has heard good things about it. So I sit and ponder the purchase. ETA: Shoot, I didn't answer your question. I don't know about a chip being available. Ok, just looked and it is available at Target as cartridge play. So yes, you can buy the physical game.

I'll run a few errands this morning then head home. We're expecting a high of 98Β° today so I won't be outside very much. I received my 4th packet of photos from Freeprints and will order 2 more in early October for a total of 255 which will set me up for my October crop. If anyone caught the Monday Night Football game, it was a fabulous clash of two Heisman Trophy QBs from LSU. First time that happened on MNF. It was also the first time since 1940 that there were no punts or turnovers! Dinner will be what I decide while I'm out. Good luck jeremysgirl !! Amazing Optical Illusion!

I can't get into Hogwarts Legacy either and would rather play DDLV type games but give Epic Mickey a try!

Happy Tuesday! It's going to be another long, frustrating day in the office. Just makes me more excited to have tomorrow off. jeremysgirl sending all the positive vibes your way! tmarschall it is so good to see you post. Have you been to Indy lately? It has been raining since yesterday. I think it will continue most of the day. I've dug out my fall clothes. Not sure how I feel about that. I absolutely love fall but not what follows. Dinner will be hamburgers on the grill.

Chilly & rainy here. We desperately need the rain. Unfortunately the guys who are going to do some additional landscaping and paint the part of our house dug out for our patio wonβt come.
Dd3βs boyfriendβs mom invited me to lunch. Hopefully no surprises as this is not a thing for us. His parents are very nice people. Then I need to shop for Lukeβs school picture outfit. Dd1 isnβt feeling up to it. Dd2 is having way too much N/V too I havenβt been able to discuss a gender reveal party date yet.
Undecided on dinner. Dh is golfing tonight so just me. Maybe cereal.

We are just getting sprinkles. It was supposed to really rain all day today and I was looking forward to it. I'm jealous of all you Ohio and Indiana ladies.
OK, so half hour before the interview, they sent me the questions. I was able to jot down some notes so I had a sense of what I wanted to talk about. Not a single question asked me about accounting. Very few were even about work. Mostly they were about the kind of human being I am. I walked away feeling like it all comes down to if they liked me better personality wise. I would be supervising 9 people. We shall see what happens next week. I should know by then if they choose me. I'm not worrying about it. I have faith that things happen all in good time.

I have been out doing errands, was happy to get home as DH is out for the day (hopefully) and it is so quiet here!!
DH's nephew and his wife had their baby yesterday..this is the baby album I made..side note had to make two as they were not finding out the sex ahead of delivery. So Camille arrived, all five pounds of herπβ€οΈ and she and Mom are doing great!!
On a sad note one of the Gals I volunteer with at the saturday lunch program has been diagnosed with cancer of the liver and stomach. She is having chemo 3 days a week, purely palliative. So very sad, she is my age and she and her DH were just settling into retirement. Please send any prayers/good vibes out for Pam. I am really devastated by this π’π’ππ»ππ»
Dinner here will be chicken thighs, salad and very last of the corn. I'm going the have to put another veggie into play starting tomorrow...summer is so easy to meal plan. I am still harvesting dozens of grape tomatoes a day...so the salads will continue!!
Jeremysgirl....thinking good vibes for you!!

I read yesterday's thread but didn't post. It was a weird day. I woke up to the alarm to take the last of my antibiotics and stayed up long enough to talk to the vet and cancel my yoga. Actually thankful that the vet couldn't see us until Wed. Didn't think the anti-biotic would stay down, but it did and I went back to sleep for 4 hours. I'm still not feeling great, but better than yesterday. My heart goes out to you, scrappert . It really is overwhelming to adjust to your new normal after such a life changing event. I'm not surprised that the interview focus wasn't on your accounting skills, jeremysgirl , given the number of people you would be supervising. Hugs to you too, naby64 . Happy anniversary, ntsf ! I always feel a little better when the expert can't immediately fix an electronics issue. Linda , I hope your DD stayed home because she isn't feeling well and your aren't dealing with more school threats. Are you happy with DD3's BF, teddyw ? The mom wanting to do lunch is interesting and I want to know more. Congratulations on the babies! karenlou , what sad news about your friend. I can't image chemo 3 times a week. One veggie drawer is empty and the other just has a few straggly bits but I just don't have the energy for a grocery run. Dinner will be the emergency tomato soup and grilled tuna or grilled cheese sandwiches. Everyone is working today, so whoever is home first gets to decide and make them.
