No. Just don't. Granted I haven't stayed at the hotel but I have been to the casino and it is just so grungy, dirty and gross. The Steakhouse restaurant is actually pretty nice with great food at a lower price point than many other Vegas steakhouses. But that's the only reason to go there. My husband loves the restaurant for the old school vibe so we go there on some visits. But for me, it's not worth having to go through the casino where I feel like I need a shower just for walking in.
ETA we usually stay in more expensive hotels or until recently The Mirage. However on our last visit we stayed at Park MGM which isn't really budget, but more mid priced. It's quite nice and we are staying there again in December. My dd and her boyfriend spent a couple days in Vegas with us and we paid for them to stay at the Flamingo (granted using our credit card points) and while it wasn't fancy, it seemed clean and neat, though budget like. They were happy enough with it.

In the past 4 weeks I have been to Vegas twice. We stayed one night at NYNY before we headed to Utah. When we came back we stayed at Park MGM. Just spent last week at Caesar's.
For what you are doing either NYNY or Park MGM will be good. Rooms at both are clean. Park MGM is a nonsmoking casino so that is a plus for me. T-Mobile Arena is right behind NYNY and Park MGM. Be aware, if you will be taxing there it is a nightmare so staying in one of those resorts would be perfect. I have walked to Allegiant Stadium from Park MGM but a taxi there is a breeze. The rodeo in December is a big deal. The closer you get to the convention center the pricier hotels will be.

I can't believe Circus Circus hasn't been torn down! It really should be. As others have said, avoid it at all costs.

Family lives in Vegas and works on the strip. Don't stay at circus circus.

My daughter stayed at MGM when she went to see Taylor Swift at Allegiant. She said they just walked across the freeway overpass sidewalk. Everyone just walked to the strip from the stadium. I would think any of the 4 corner hotels would be ok (except the Excalibur).

I really liked the Marriott. It's next to the convention center and the monorail. You could hop right off at MGM to get to TMobile Arena. It doesn't have a casino so it was really nice to come back to a quieter hotel at night. No woo girls. :))

leannec My sil who is a former travel agent is helping me out. We should be booked somewhere tomorrow. I was getting really frustrated because I was trying to do this on my old iPhone. My work computer is up a flight of stairs and I can’t do that right now. I just couldn’t seem to get to any of the hotels directly, just a bunch of third party vendors. We did get our flights booked, so I am feeling a little better about things.

You usually have to scroll down a little to get the actual website. Glad you got the flights booked and are one step closer!

Woo Hoo!!! It's in a great location! Central to a lot of things! There are a couple of really good restaurants in that hotel I hear! I'm so jealous that you are going to the events you are ... they are exactly what I would want to do! Especially the rodeo.

Paris is a substantial upgrade over Circus Circus! With the events you’re attending, you might want to visit Blake Shelton’s Ole Red. It’s fairly new and located next to Paris.
You’ll definitely want to taxi or Uber to Allegiant for the concert and T-Mobile for the hockey game. Go Knights Go!

The concert is at the Allegiant Stadium. It’s Chris Stapleton, George Strait, and Little Big Town! I’m so excited. I tried to get tickets for Chris Stapleton's concert here in Melbourne for DSO and a mate of his, but they sold out really quickly. By the time I finally got through online, the only tickets left were about $400 each! (And I'd never heard of him.)

I would love to see Little Big Town ... On the Pontoon is one of my fav summer songs and Girl Crush is just one of the best songs ever!

I hate country music in general and concerts in particular, but I decided for some reason I needed to see him and went to the Greenville SC show. He was great. He's not the twangy singer type of country, and I really like his voice.

Paris is a very nice hotel. The location is great! T-Mobile is still very walkable but you will want to taxi to Allegiant.
Ole Red is fun but they don't take reservations and with the rodeo going on the wait to get in will be long. When I was there at the end of August it was over an hour wait for 6 of us. Two weeks later a group of us was able to get in in about 20 minutes.

I would stay in the main part of the strip, so you can walk or monorail up and down the strip. Treasure Island should be affordable and it's clean. Park MGM is behind the MGM which is a fun area w/an m&m and coca cola store.
@luxor has my favorite Vegas show, The Blue Man Group. The hotel itself has intresting elevators. They remind me of Wonkavators and if you're prone to motion sickness not the greatest idea. Excalibur is usually cheap, but it's also very old and run down. I stayed at NYNY once and it was fine, but it's old. Check out Paris, too. Paris is sometimes on the cheaper side and a nicer place to stay.
