My 28 year old DD likes to occasionally add hot chocolate mix to her coffee for a special treat. I've given my kids Moonstruck Hot Cocoa for Christmas in 2022 and Sees Candy Hot Cocoa for Christmas 2023. They were okay but not very special. I've also tried a few individually sold cocoa packets from Target and Kohls but don't remember the brand names.
I don't think I've tried Godiva or Ghiradelli brands. Would like to buy the canister type so that you can spoon out only what you need.
Do you have a favorite brand you can recommend or a recipe that you think is special? Thanks.

Stephen's Gourmet Hot Cocoa Mix I love the Chocolate Mint Truffle, the Raspberry and the White Chocolate flavours. They are all very good the Dark Chocolate with Peppermint is my SIL's favourite flavour and the Cinnamon Apple Cider is hands down the best sore throat remedy ever! I haven't tried the Mexican or Salted Caramel flavours they are fairly new. I've been using it for 20+ years and I know I used to find it at Costco but I'm only about 50 miles from their factory now so I stop in when I go to see my cousin.

I read about Penzeys cocoa mix here and it is my favorite. Doesn't taste powdered at all.

Mike & Jens is a somewhat local brand and it’s really good. They sell on Amazon.

Do you have a favorite brand you can recommend or a recipe that you think is special? Thanks. I know that even the cheapest Nestle mix tastes 10 times better if you make it with milk instead of water. I have enjoyed the Starbucks mix and the Ghirardelli - both made using hot milk, instead of water. I was just looking at Hot Chocolate ideas yesterday, because the Hotel Chocolat add popped up on my social media (lord, is it ever going to now!) ... They have a machine that 'velvetizes' their hot chocolate. Their hot chocolate mix is flakes and you ad that with milk to their device and it is supposed to be the most amazing hot chocolate. But at about $150 for the machine, that I do not have room to put away, I am hesitant. It looks basically like a milk frother. So now I have wondered down the path of just getting a better milk frother and buying their hot chocolate. Anyone ever use Hotel Chocolat products? Hotel Chocolat

Williams Sonoma is excellent…it’s actual shaved chocolate to mix into hot milk. I get some every year for Christmas and love it.

Ghirardelli’s is good but once I tried Starbucks I couldn’t go back. It isn’t as sweet and is my favorite. I got a few canisters years ago at Costco around Christmas. I’ve also made the scratch version using Hershey unsweetened cocoa and it’s good to but it’s been years.
