Good morning. I have my last appointment. And then I'm heading to see **GypsyGirl**. I just wheeled my big suitcase to the front t desk for shipment. I'm heading home tmw. What is everyone up to today? What's for dinner? Sending healing thoughts to our tribe mates who need them. May today bring happiness and healing to all.

You're up early scrapmaven ! Hope you have a good time with GypsyGirl! Post a pic if you get a chance! I've got a fairly busy day today. I've got to run errands at lunch to pick up my wine order and drop the dog off for grooming and pick up some food for him. I'm doing some cross-training today to learn how to set up some directories. I've done parts of it but never the whole thing so it'll be good to learn. It's something my co-worker takes care of but he's out on PTO so they get assigned to a floater on our team. She's going to be out on Friday so I'll be covering them for them both. I'm not sure what dinner will be tonight. I've been hungry for quiche so I may make that or if I'm feeling lazy, I will have leftover spaghetti. Hope you all have a great day!

scrapmaven and **GypsyGirl** enjoy your time together ! I'm off today but things are up in the air of what I'm going to do. Our street has been broken down for a couple of weeks and last night we got an e-mail that it might get oiled today or tomorrow and then asphalt it the next day after the oiling. Once we know for sure what day it's going to be oiled we will have to stay in a hotel for a couple of days since we can't drive on it and our street will be closed. No idea what's for dinner, but for now I am enjoying my cup of coffee.

You lucky duck! Well after an eventful morning, I am going to say that I don't have clue how this day is going to go. I don't know if I'll work all day or finally sleep a bit this afternoon. I am, however, going to make dinner tonight. I'm running right back to my plant based diet. I'll make the stuffed green peppers tonight. Thank you all for the good wishes on my interview. I really do feel like I was authenically me. So I feel good about the interview. If they choose me, great. If not, there will be other opportunities.

Have a great time together scrapmaven and **GypsyGirl**! I read the thread yesterday but somehow forgot to post! I am going for groceries later because I didn't go the other day and my fridge is empty ... I will pick up something there for dinner ... no idea what I want of course.

I want to see **GypsyGirl**! We (mom, brother, sister) are meeting an out-of-town cousin and her husband for dinner tonight. Some kind of hippie Berkeley organic food or something. Hoping I don’t get COVID … they both have a “cold.” The gentleman friend gets home from Ireland on Friday after two weeks away, and I will see him this weekend. So that’s the excitement around here. I am pretty pathetic these days. Happy, but pathetic.

Today is get my rear end in gear and get the newsletter ready for mailout. I hate when I do this to myself. I wait until the day before mailing to even start working on it. Which makes a big push for me but it always gets done. No dinner plans for me tonight. I have choir and this is my long day. I stay here in the office until choir time at 6:30. Then home at 8. I really don't like eating after that point. So, yogurt and granola for breakfast and leftovers for lunch. linda you reminded me I need to check in with my SIL in Tampa and see what plans they are making. They also have a place on Anna Maria. I haven't looked to see if that area is impacted. It seems it is more the Big Bend and north of the Tampa area. Stay safe. Tearisci I love quiche! I forget about it until suddenly one day I am craving it. With a salad on the side. Yum! scrapmaven safe travels! Oh and I did apologize to H after I got home. I was less than thrilled with him on the phone when I finally talked to him yesterday. He accepted the apology and also accepted his part in the issue.

The gentleman friend gets home from Ireland on Friday after two weeks away, and I will see him this weekend. So that’s the excitement around here. This is exciting. I would be so excited if Jeremy went away for two weeks. LOL! I'm just kidding. I still get excited about my gentleman friend too.

This is my second time meeting with them. scrapmaven, have fun with your meetup with **GypsyGirl** ! jeremysgirl , I read your other post. Hope you get some answers down the road about what has caused your flareup. Hopefully it's just food allergies. Dinner might be Teriyaki chicken.

jeremysgirl - a sick day sounds like a good idea for you today. Best wishes for the possible new job! lucyg - fingers crossed it really IS a cold. So many people don't bother testing anymore. Yay for weekend plans with your gentleman friend. naby64 - good luck with the newsletter. Helene does appear to be headed more big bend/peninsula area than further south but they'll probably get rain and storm surge down there from it. Thanks for the well wishes - we're pretty inland so hopefully won't be bad here.

Good evening I have had a long but lovely day. I headed into town just before 10 for a hairdresser appointment. She has done a wonderful job of covering my scar - she fluffed up the front and made it so I no longer have a part on the side, so you can hardly see it at all. She feels that by my next appointment - mid-November - it will hardly be noticeable at all, with the way the hair is growing back. I'll be able to have color then too! After I left there, I walked to the Oktoberfest grounds. I had beer and food vouchers from DH's work visit earlier in the week, so I went to that tent and found a place to sit and ordered roast suckling pork with crackling and a dumpling, and a Maß of beer. I was at an unreserved table, so I just chatted with the people who were sitting around me - mainly singles and pairs. After that, I wandered the grounds, bought some souvenirs (my boys wanted this year's souvenir beer mugs), went on an old carousel (the sign said first on the Wiesn in 1924!) and then had a plate of my favourite dessert, Kaiserschmarrn, for afternoon tea, before catching the train back home.
It's just before 6pm now and I don't feel like I want or need anything more to eat. I bought a salad yesterday for dinner tonight, but I'm not sure I'll get to eat it.
I'll try to post some pictures later - I've been having trouble getting them to load lately.

I'm jealous that scrapmaven and **GypsyGirl** get to have a pea meetup. Have fun! jeremysgirl saw your other post. Hope you don't have any more problems until you see the allergist. I woke up with a sore throat. I had a bunch of errands to run, was going to get a pedi then meet DH at the nursing home to see his mother. I am now staying put in the house. Not what I wan to do but I know it's best. I am working on some fall cards. Took a walk. Think I will go sit on the back porch and read a little. No clue what is for dinner.

If not, there will be other opportunities. Good luck regarding your interview but as you said if unsuccessful there will be other opportunities and use this interview as a learning tool. It is an experience and if you haven’t interviewed in some time just to experience an interview just as a re-fresher is a good thing. Hopefully you won’t have to be on the look out and you are successful with this one.

scrapmaven.....Have fun with **GypsyGirl** !!! Linda.....Hoping you and your family stay safe! christine58.....thank you for the encouragment yesterday . We did end up going, and seeing my sister-in-law (who I've known since I was 12) was soooo nice! She is like a sister/best friend and I have missed her !!! It was also great seeing my sister, even though we have a very *complicated* relationship. Sister-in-Law is the Mom of the young nephew who died 2 years ago. I couldn't physically travel to be with the family, and it has always hurt to think about. It was soooo nice to reminisce/ cry/ laugh together !!!! He was very vocal about how much he loved everyone, and he was JUST. SO. FUNNY !!!! He was a very talented drummer, and DH and I loved going to some of his band's shows when we lived nearby.

We are going to have pub burgers on the grill with potato wedges. SO said some roasted veggies too, but did not give an idea what that would mean...we don't roast veggies! LOL I will cut up the peppers I have and put cream cheese in them to put on the grill.
I drove to the store to get the stuff, so that was nice.

When they cooked for us last night, sis-in-law made her famous meatballs and spag. sauce. Sis brought her homeade sourdough (YUM!), along with olive oil for dipping the bread. The oil had all kinds of yummy seasonings. They got the YUMMIEST local donuts, and put candles in them for DH and my birthdays. The bungalow they're renting in the "cool" part of town was SO cute and cozy !!! Tonight, sis-in-law and sis are coming here, and I'll make one of theirs and DH's and my fave dinners. Roasted potatoes and chicken with just Kosher salt, fresh garlic, a lot of oregano, and olive oil. I also made a German chocolate cake with a funny little sign that will make them laugh.

If you try roasting them, you'll probably love them! Get some extra-virgin olive oil, Kosher salt, and if you both like garlic--YUM! Also, once they're roasted and out of the oven, a bit of fresh lemon juice elevates the flavor. How are you feeling today? I can't get over what happened to you! (( hugs ))

scrappintoee I'm so glad you went. And I think it is so healing for you to be able to reminisce, laugh, and cry with them about your nephew. I know how much it bothered you that you couldn't go and sometimes I think that we need that kind of ritual for closure's sake. That's not to say that grief isn't ongoing. But somehow it bookmarks a chapter. I think that's part of the reason why we are so hurt when our animals pass, because there is no ritual to it. The community does not come out and shower you with love like when a human passes. Anyway, just my thoughts on loss and grief.

scrappintoee I am so glad you went. jeremysgirl. Any idea what caused the allergic reaction? Just got home from having lunch with a friend. She’s going through some tough times with serious serious anxiety. It’s a long story but I think she’s making baby steps each day. Her doctor put her on Lexapro, which is what I am also taking and I was able to walk her through some things over the past couple days. We had a really good lunch.

SO said some roasted veggies too, but did not give an idea what that would mean...we don't roast veggies! LOL Get yourselves a grill pan for roasting veggies! They are square with holes in the bottom ... you spray it and then throw in veggies like pepper slices, onion slices, mushrooms, grape tomatoes - whatever you like - add olive oil and salt and pepper and then grill them ... toss frequently.
