today was spa day.. we both had massages and worked out in their gym.. then I splurged and got a facial.. have never had one before.
and my dh got me weird al concert tickets for next summer!! I've seen him once before and it is a good show.
dinner tonight is chicken curry with rice, and salad and berries for dessert with a little sorbet. got golden raspberries from farmer's market.

jeremysgirl, my first thought reading your other thread was thank goodness you had the interview before this reaction. Hoping you can get into an allergist quickly. Hope you are busy enjoying each other right now scrapmaven and **GypsyGirl**! Hoping you get nothing but a little wind and rain from the storm, Linda. I made it to yoga, the pharmacy and Trader Joe's without a problem. Ate lunch and now dealing with a wall of fatigue and upset stomach so I hope to squeeze in a quick nap before taking the pup to the vet. The plan is Eggroll in a Bowl for dinner. Everything is prepped so someone else can make it if necessary.

Greetings from Boston! It was a very early morning this morning. I was up at 2:15 am to meet my friend at her house at 3:30 am. We flew to Chicago and then changed planes and flew to Boston. We are staying at a lovely AirBnB hosted by the cutest elderly lady who has given us the run of her house (and she lives here). We aren’t very close to downtown Boston so we won’t see much of the city. It’s too expensive to Uber very far. We embark tomorrow at 11:30 and then we are off!
Had a big lunch so probably just going to nibble on some snacks for supper.

I'll try to post some pictures later - I've been having trouble getting them to load lately. With Tapatalk? I've been having a terrible time with pictures. Thanks to cadoodlebug, I learned about postimages.org/I've never used "Tapatalk", but is that the app where if you post photos here, it takes up bandwidth? It may not be Tapatalk, but there's some app (?) where the board gets over-loaded, so peAps have said they have trouble posting.

I realized today that I post very early and end up changing my mind on what's for dinner when that time comes around. Like today, I said I was having leftover spaghetti and ended up ordering Tonkatsu from a local place. Morning me doesn't know what Evening me will feel like obviously!

This restaurant goes all out like I've never seen at Halloween and they had already put everything up so it was awesome. Maybe tomorrow I'll share some photos I took.

**sidenote on my precious nephew (the photo posted earlier) ---because I LOVE to brag about him! Not only was he a talented drummer, he also played trombone in his High School's marching band, and we loved going to the football games just to hear him play!!! ( I'm not a football fan, but I LOVE the excitement of the crowd and the music!) He was also very well-read, extremely intelligent and articulate, and made us laugh with very sophisticated wit. (which he totally inherited from my Dad). That precious toddler in the photo I posted is his niece...he was not a Daddy. I didn't want anyone to think he had sweet children that are grieving him.

cadoodlebug ....I'd LOVE to see photos from your luncheon! Halloween is my fave holiday in the last few years (NEVER thought I'd say that!) I used to LOVE Christmastime---all the music, the cheerfulness, the baking, and I decorated A LOT (inside and out). But in the past several years, I find the whole season a bit depressing. The main reason is all the materialism....I HATE it when people stress and obsess over GIFTS, being in debt, talk about how they hate HAVING to buy obligatory gifts for people they don't even like, etc. To me, it is not important. I'd never stress over buying a bunch of crap for people I don't care about...it's so pointless. ETA: LOL, probably no one is even reading this far, but I would love to hear if anyone feels the same way. I also hate HATE the constant online ads....the commercials....just to buy pointless stuff that no one wants !!!!! .....I need to STOP posting and go peel and cut a LOT of garlic !!!

It's really super easy to use it and honestly I post from my phone quite a bit. It is not the best way to post. Tapatalk has issues.

How wonderful that you get to catch up again scrapmaven and **GypsyGirl** - I would so love to be there too! SO said some roasted veggies too, but did not give an idea what that would mean...we don't roast veggies! LOL Girl, you need to remedy that! Roasted vegetables are THE BEST! I can't imagine life without them. I would be so excited if Jeremy went away for two weeks. LOL! I'm just kidding. That's exactly what I was thinking hahaha! And I'm not just kidding! scrappintoee I'm glad you posted that fabulous photo of your nephew. And I'm glad that you were able to catch up with his mum. I remember how upset you were that you weren't able to be there at the time. Dinner was rechauffe mac & cheese.

scrappert I roasted vegetables last night. I had yellow beets. I washed and dried and peeled. Cut into chunks and baked for 50 min. Green beans, asparagus, broccoli, carrots, etc you just sprinkle with salt and pepper and I douse it with olive oil and back for 15 min at 350°F. It’s that easy. Beets are denser than green beans and take much longer. Other vegetables roast quickly. Put foil on a cookie sheet or on the tray for your toaster oven.

I finally had some about a week ago and oh my goodness they were delicious. I will roast pretty much any vegetable. I put olive oil and fresh garlic, not the crap out of the jar and sea salt and then roast. Yummy

The ones last night were amazing. We have a jar of pickled in the fridge and I need to get some more.

My dad’s Baba used to make horseradish beets. They could be mild or they could be brutal were his exact words.

I love that you would go to hear the hs band. We have attended the hs football (and baseball and wrestling and formerly basketball) for Nick's grandsons. It has been so sad that the band is only about 6 or 8 kids. The school is so underresourced. The coaches for all the sports are pretty bad. But you know what? I bet you know the important thing is to show up for these kids. Just come. Clap. It means so much. I'm sad bc this was the last football season as the last grandson is a senior. And he ended up getting caught up in some drama with the coach and he and 5 other kids quit the team. Their senior year. I'm just really disappointed, in the situation and also for them. But I know he was always glad we came. I'm so sorry for your loss...a special, talented kind young man. I'm betting from what you've let us know if you that he knew how much he was loved. ❤️❤️
