I can do a layout in 1/2 hr or 2 weeks, it really depends on how far I go down a rabbit hole.
If I have an idea and it comes together the actual making of the page isn’t long. It’s the planning, the ideas, the back n forth & the deciding that takes time. Sometimes it’s the crafting that takes time like the time I tore and drew 4 zoo animals. Oddly my published page is one that took less than an hour. But sometimes I can just fiddle with stuff because to me it’s not just right yet.
I’ve gotten better lately. But I still fumble around with paper choices. As long as I’m having fun I’m not going to worry about it. If I’m stressing over the choices it’s time to walk away for a bit.

Maybe not 30 minutes...but if I have a clear idea, story and title planned it can be quick if I don't pfaff around. If I'm cropping with other people it's so much FASTER because I don't second guess: I make those decisions more quickly.

For regular pages, like traditional scrapbooking, it takes me an eternity. Hours of indecision. I’m quicker for small pages, like 6x8 and under - but there’s less options there, so I think that helps me.
I’m happy with my pace for pocket pages, which is why I use PL as the basis for my documenting. I can make progress well in that format and don’t fall into an overthinking trap.
You know how some layouts you are just really delighted with and others just don’t come together and are frustrating to finish? Well, with pocket pages I don’t care if it’s a layout I am not really happy with, i just turn the page and move onto the next week/story/whstever. But when it’s a “real” scrap page I really can’t just move on. I really dislike this aspect of myself. 🫣
