Our dear weekday leader, scrapmaven , is winging her way west today so I am starting the thread for her. We can’t wait to hear about her meet-up with **GypsyGirl** ! Safe travels! Lots of fun stuff in yesterday’s thread ~ I enjoyed all the ideas for grilled vegetables. I usually include zucchini, red onions and mushrooms after marinating in Italian dressing. DH hates beets but maybe I could add some cubed yellow ones and he won’t know what they are. So how is everyone feeling today? What are you plans as we inch closer to the weekend? The President’s Cup (golf between the US and The International Team aka the rest-of-the-world) starts today so DH will be glued to the TV all weekend. Dinner might be tri-tip roast. At the request of jeremysgirl and scrappintoee here are a few of the Halloween decorations from the restaurant where the luncheon was yesterday. By the time they finish decorating, it is like walking into a museum. They are much better in person. What's on your menu?

We can’t wait to hear about her meet-up with **GypsyGirl** ! Safe travels! What happens in Houston stays in Houston! We had a fantastic visit. So great that we ended chatting for about 5 hours! She was in great spirits and her visit really boosted my spirits. Have to run now, busy day, but I'll check in again this evening.

That sounds like a great time **GypsyGirl**! That restaurant is so cool cadoodlebug! I am probably going to switch my decor over from Summer to Fall today ... I do mainly pumpkins but not Halloween ... not really a fan of Halloween (ducks and hides from jeremysgirl and scrappintoee!) Dinner is undecided at this time!

Hi all, I am recovering from a really bad night and morning today.
After I posted here last night, I started felling really bad - dizzy and nauseous. It was almost like I was feeling drunk, even though I only had one beer at Oktoberfest and that was at lunch. I ended up not eating dinner and drinking a lot of water before going to bed early. I decided to sleep in the guest room as that didn’t involve stairs. There was one point where I almost called the non- emergency medical after hours service. I didn’t get much sleep, and woke up feeling really seedy - still dizzy and sick to the stomach. I was almost glad when my cleaner called to say she was sick, so I didn’t have to move.
I am feeling a bit better now and have managed to eat some toast and drink more water and tea. I will eat dinner in a while - probably pizza from the freezer as I didn’t trust my balance to walk to the shops.
I hope everyone else out there is having a better day than I am. The only upside was getting a fair bit of knitting done.

Hi all, Having a (simple) procedure this afternoon that requires anesthesia so I can't eat this am and I am hangry! Hoping I am feeling up to it later bc Nick has offered to take me out for a nice lunch/early dinner which I am fantasizing about as I drink my sad black coffee. Boo. So I have no idea what's for dinner, but hopefully it is good. Thai or pasta sound good right now, but so does the stale bagel sitting on the counter because I can't have it, haha. Otherwise, a beautiful fall morning here today...sunny, blue skies, 60 or so degrees right now. Perfect weather! It may warm up later but I'm insisting on breaking out all my fall clothes bc they are my favorite. I'm more into fall than Halloween, too leannec. I've had my indoor and outdoor decorations for a couple weeks already.

I'm going to just pretend you didn't say that. OK? We can still be friends. tmarschall good luck with your procedure. My stuffed peppers were so good last night. I had enough filling to make two more so that will be dinner tonight. They were holding more interviews today. I expect them to make decisions on this job quickly. So let's keep our fingers crossed I hear something soon. Other than that, it'll be a slow afternoon. I finished a report this morning.

cadoodlebug cute pictures! tmarschall good luck today! I am prepping for a class I am teaching tonight. Going to run to the nursing home this afternoon to see MIL. She is going to have to move to another facility. She escaped the facility again so she needs to be someplace that is more locked down. FIL is really upset. Alzheimer's sucks... Looks like today will be our last beautiful day for awhile. We are on the very northern edge of the remnants of Helene. Going to be wet, wet, wet after today. Thankful rain is all we will get from it. I will pick something up for dinner after class tonight.

Happy Thursday dinner friends!
Wow, what a busy few days! I have popped onto the thread, ready a few posts before being distracted by something else. Work has been very busy, Q4 has arrived! I'm currently listening in in on my 5th call today and have 4 more scheduled. I'm leading the majority of them, but a couple I am just listening in on.
I have several comments I would like to make, but since time is short, here is a blanket Good vibes and thoughts to all. :-)
DH is at the ranch so I might have dinner with a friend/neighbor that I have dinner with sometimes. We usually tend to have Korean, but haven't discussed where we want to go if it works out today.
wishing everyone a great day!

Dinner was supposed to be nachos at our favorite barbecue place, however my nacho eating buddy is a NO GO and they serve them on a huge sheet pan ....so way more than I can eat by myself...(DH is not a fan) Plan B is up in the air. I may very well do the Costco bare chicken nuggets in the AF along with fries...still TBD
I worked last night so sleep deprived..so my brain is in a fog
Have a Good Day All😊

Good Morning!!! What a fun restaurant cadoodlebug!! I would go just to look at the Halloween decor!!! I put my stuff up before surgery knowing that I would be unable to do so after. I do a mix of fall and Halloween. Nothing scary because that freaks me out but I have cute little ghosts, bats, and jack-o’-lanterns. For lunch today I am getting an açaí bowl. They are so delicious!!! I’m still trying to regain my appetite. Yesterday I started my cross stitch project. Not much to see at the moment. I will work on that later this afternoon.

Hi friends!
Work has been keeping me busy this week, as it tends to do. However, we got the go-ahead from our CEO to sign a contract with a new vendor that will encompass registration (my lane), session planning (which I also have a hand in), our app, and CE hours for attendees. I am so excited because we've been cobbling our current system along in the well, almost exactly 6, years I've been part of our team. It's better than where it was when I started, but having everything in one place is going to be very, very helpful.
It will definitely be a learning curve, but one I am most certainly looking forward to. There are some other changes in store for our conference attendees this year, but I am hopeful they'll be received positively. Fingers crossed.
Have a great day, all. Sending well wishes to those who need them and hugs to all!

Woke up early and feeling great today, so I've been knocking off chores and ran a few errands after yoga. One of the "chores" was putting out some seasonal decor. I picked up some funky gourds at Trader Joe's yesterday and put together a centerpiece for the table among other things. We used to decorate both inside and out when the kids were younger but when they stopped being interested, I transitioned to just autumn stuff. I saw a number of signs for one of our congressional candidates on the way home. The first one that caught my eye was essentially at the fire hall, which kind of surprised me and I thought "ugh, is it that time already?". Our city has a bylaw that political signs can't be put in public places until 30 days before an election (and removed within 5 days after). When I got home I looked at the calendar, double checked the bylaw online and saw the number to complain. So I phoned and complained. My complaint is 100% nonpartisan. In a week or so there is going to be 1000s of signs lining every road and I can put up with it for 30 days, but not a day sooner than I need to. The city asked for specific locations of the signs and said someone would be out to remove them. Glad to hear your meet-up with scrapmaven was long and fun, **GypsyGirl**. Hope you are feeling better and it was just a quick bug working it's way through your system, sueg. I put together a spinach & feta strata yesterday that will be popped in the oven for dinner. My kids always resisted the idea of breakfast for dinner, but will happily eat something like this.

I need to say something that's difficult, but it's been bothering me a while. It's kind of similar to what leannec talked about recently when she posted lots of photos of her fun vacay w/her daugthers. Usually, when piks are posted, they at LEAST get a few comments... ESPECIALLY when it's a sweet child/baby! Mine rarely get any. ---February....Posted the SWEETEST piks of Beatrice's birthday---maybe got one comment. ---March....posted my sweet, newborn great niece---not one comment. I ended up deleting her photo, because...why leave it up? I decided to take a very long break after that, because being upset about no comments on a photo isn't healthy.---Yesterday, pik of my nephew that died, ( AussieMeg did comment--- thank you ! ) AND there's the cutest little girl sitting on his lap while he plays drums. No one asked did he leave children behind, was that adorable girl his daughther? ---yet, usually when small children/babies are posted, there are LOTS of comments. But I DO realize that I shouldn't be so invested or upset about people I may never meet in real life.
---It bothered me even more yesterday, because there were multiple posts about Tapatalk when it had already been explained several times. People took the time to write about that, but not comment on my nephew/ great niece. --I also ask NON-DINNER questions many times, because this is such a friendly group, I'd love to know your thoughts on LOTS of things. No one usually answers. Yet, there will be multiple comments on what kind of garlic everyone uses. ---Recently, jeremysgirl said that she doesn't enjoy it when there isn't a lot of interaction, and I agree. I also realize that either I accept that people don't have the time/interest to answer questions/ chat about more than dinner, or I should just stop posting (which, I have taken several long breaks because of that). BUT, as I said before, it seems people have time to post answers/comments about mundane things like Tapatalk. (( Hugs )) I am debating posting this, I'm embarrassed and may delete/edit. Please know that I'm not blaming anyone---I admit that this is MY problem! Since I've been home SOOO damn much the last several years, I don't like that I'm so invested in an electronic message board of peAple I probably won't ever meet.

(( hugs )) to anyone who needs 'em! cadoodlebug....thanks for posting the piks. As Linda & BirdhouseLady said, I like CUTE ghosts, pumpkins, and the creepiest thing I love are my skeletons. They are so whimsical and silly to me, and I pose them in chairs/ silly positions in our yard to make people laugh. Linda....Hoping you and your family are safe from the hurricane! tmarschall...Hope your procedure goes well, and it's been so nice to "see" you again. I miss photos of your adorable doggies and gorrrgeous cakes! I get the hANGry! Next week, I have an EGD (where they put a tube down your throat to visualize esophagus, stomach, and duodenum.) I assumed it'd be no food/drinks for 8 hours, but it's 12----eeek! **GypsyGirl**.....glad you and scrapmaven had a five-hour chat and that it lifted your spirits! Loved "what happens in Houston stays in Houston" As a lot of our long-timers know, scrapmaven is private about photos, so although I'd LOVE to see a pik of you two together, I never expected one.

scrappintoee... sometimes I read the whole thread and I can't comment on everyone's post cause I forget who did what and so on.. it is not that I don't read or ignore.. it is that it is all I can do sometimes to say what is for dinner.
so posting does not equal interest.. and I guess I don't count on a response to anything I say.. I just say it. I'm sorry for your loss.. it is so hard to lose anyone.. esp someone who is young.
please stick around or pop in every so often.. I love to read every single post, even if I am bad about commenting.

scrappintoee - (((Hugs))) I'm sorry that you feel hurt. I can't speak for everyone but I know I miss days altogether and other days I either pop in on my phone - and I find it hard to type much on my phone so if I post, it's brief - or I catch the thread early on (like I did today) and miss the later posters or late in the day (when we're on page 2) and there's just too much to respond to. I do remember seeing your photo of your nephew and I think you said, his niece? I'm sorry I didn't comment but I did pray for you and your family as you're remembering him and perhaps rekindling grief- I'm glad you were able to visit with family after not being able to be at his memorial. Sometimes I don't quite know what to say and don't say anything because I don't want to say something wrong or awkward (and I do think my previous sentence is awkward at best - sorry) Please - keep posting whatever you want to post. But yeah, sometimes you'll hit that sweet spot in the thread where you get a bunch of replies and other times, not so much. I doubt it's personal - anymore than it was for leannec. Just how the thread rolls somedays

Hey scrappintoee I was on my computer yesterday when I read your post. I cannot see pics on my computer. I didn't even realize it was there until I saw aussiemeg comment this morning. I just wanted to let you know. I have to get on my phone each day to see cadoodlebug meme and sometimes I don't even bother. Just depends. I don't know if other people can see them or not. But that's my thing. I also want to let everyone know I'm an early bird. I live in the eastern time zone and I am asleep by 9. I sometimes don't get online after 6 pm at all. Because I'm cooking/eating/cleaning up and preparing for bed. So for the west coasters, that might mean I don't see anything posted after 3 pm your time. I do like to talk. I come back every morning to see what I missed and read the dinner thread while I drink my morning coffee. But I want you and everyone else to know that I don't intentionally disregard anyone speaking to me. I don't want anyone to feel hurt.

cadoodlebug love love love the Wizard of Oz decoration. Favorite movie. jeremysgirl how's the hives and swelling? It's Thursday Night Football so Mexican is a must. Dh and I are having wet burritos and dd will have the chicken, black beans, her cauliflower rice, and chips. I just have to cook the two rices (basmati for dh and I), heat up the beans, and heat up the enchilada sauce (red). Everything else is prepped including the chicken.

bc2ca i find it so cute that you said the kids stopped being interested. Because the year that Esther died I did not want to decorate for Christmas. I just could not bring myself to do it. Jeremy made a halfhearted attempt to bring a fake tree out of the basement and put lights on it. But that's all we had that Christmas. We didn't host or anything but Chloe had been over during that time. Well last year I got a wild hair that I wanted a real tree and I wanted to do something completely different. I went all out with my little Charlie Brown tree. And Chloe came over and she was so happy to see that tree. She said the year before seeing the house empty and dark at Christmas time just really bummed her out. And here I thought nobody but me cared. I am a big kid when it comes to Halloween. Esther's birthday was the 30th. So we always went all out for her birthday. I had always liked Halloween but her birthday being so close was big incentive to go all out. I do it for me now. It brings me joy. But i still in a little pocket of my heart do it for Esther.

I really am not on 2peas as much anymore scrappintoee so I just don't post as much. And when I am on, my time is limited. So I hardly post or reply. I am hardly even on the dinner thread much anymore. Unless there is a direct thread I can help out with, I pretty much check in for a few minutes and leave. I think several of us are trying to prioritize other things over non electronic/social media sites for the betterment of our own health. That is where I am right now. 2peas has ebbed and flowed for quite awhile now and so think we are at a slow point again. I might not have babies or young kids but my days are busy and I am in a new season of life with ds being 18 and all that comes with. We care about each other and likes or comments don't show it. We just do. Gotta trust that

(( Hugs )) I am debating posting this, I'm embarrassed and may delete/edit. Don't delete your post! I'm terrible about responding to many things on the thread because I am a scatterbrain! I read everything though and see all photos! I wish there was a little place under them like on Facebook where we could comment and "like"! I think people here go off on a tangent of the day and that's just the way it is ... sometimes it is about something mundane ... Definitely don't stop posting!
