IMO - One of the greatest lead-in to a song was his “If it sounds country, man, that's what it is. It's a country song.” about Me and Bobby McGee. 🥰

My goodness. What a weekend of loss. I also heard that a long time soap opera actor from my hometown died this weekend too.

He was a staple in my house growing up with my parents and my sister plays his music almost everytime we visit.
May he rest in peace.

Now this one hurts. I remember my sister taking me to “A Star is Born” in junior high. I loved Kris Kristoffersen ever since.

Oh,I think I wore the grooves right off my copy of The Silver Tongued Devil as a teen. I’ve loved his music for over 50 years. It’s more like poetry. And the song Sunday Morning Coming Down can still make me cry almost every time.
Just Saturday night—-I’m not kidding, that song came up on our playlist while we were making dinner, and when it was over, I said to my son: “Kris is going to die soon. Any day now, I just know it, and I’ll be crushed. He looked so frail last time I saw him. “
And then the very next day we get the news.
I’m going to see Bonnie Raitt Wednesday. Now I’m hoping maybe she’ll sing something of Kris’, to remember him. That would be sweet.
