I watched it and enjoyed it. It almost seemed like they had no idea what they were in for when they were dropped off. It was pretty intense.

I'm amazed at the number of people who don't seem physically fit trying to scale that mountain. I question who they sent home but I'm not there to know what's going on. But, I suspect they might regret the choice. I think that was a sneak peek so I'm not sure when it actually starts. Maybe after the Big Brother finale.

I'm just salty that we have to wait for TAR but this will be a good substitution.

we thought there was a lot of whining.. and so many had no idea what they were doing. at all. dh and I are very outdoorsy.. and that first hill was tough.. but they did not much to make it an easier climb.
it was fun to make fun of them. but why they think they could do this when way out of shape.. who knows.

I honestly think they had no idea what they would be doing. From the way some were dressed to the way they handled the challenge, I think they were clueless.

I started it and will finish it tonight. 14 days to finish seems like a tight deadline.

I wonder what kind of waivers they had to sign LOL. I mean, this is pretty dangerous stuff for some of these folks with their physical condition. Were there any health pre-checks? I can't imagine there were because no doctor in his right mind would approve some of these people to climb a mountain!

I was surprised at the voting format. Everyone knows how everyone else voted, so it will be interesting how that impacts the formation of alliances. I have always enjoyed the secret nature of the voting on Survivor. I've never watched Big Brother--are their votes secret or open?

I read somewhere that the contestants signed up for an outdoor adventure show but were not given details. They had no idea they would be mountain climbing!

I just caught the last 30 minutes but my immediate thought was Survivor on steroids. I know nothing about the show. However, I will say I have climbed over a mountain. Even with my training, it was a kick butt moment. So if they were in shape, throwing in a mountain climb is just a whole 'nother ball of wax. (in my mind of outdoor knowledge)
I don't really know enough about anyone to know whether they voted off the right person. Just the clips I saw, I was annoyed by them. But I am easily annoyed these days.

14 miles to go 100 miles is not bad.. when I was 20-25, I could have done that trek in 10-12 days.. even the mountain climbing. but not at 50 and few could.
we used to hike 10 miles before lunch.. and even with 4000 elevation gains and losses.. but you really need to be in shape and with skill. climbing with rope and crampons (needed on that snow) can be really slow and if you don't know what you are doing, really hazardous.
we will see.
