I've written 20 letters via Vote Forward and have 60 more awaiting my words. I want to write the most persuasive and succinct 2-3 sentences. Would love to hear your thoughts in how to complete the sentence:
I vote because ......
NO naming of candidates/party allowed.
I'll share the message I wrote in the first 20 letters a little later, along with some alternate ideas.
Thanks!!!

It's my privilege and responsibility as a citizen.
Also because I care about the future of my community.

This is so timely, I will be watching closely. My 200 postcards arrived Saturday. They are supposed to go postal on October 15. My friends who will be writing with me and I could definitely use some inspiration!

I vote because it's an honor to be able to do so, many countries don't have any say over their political leaders and I am grateful that my country does.

Voting in this country is a right but it is also a duty because all levels of our government are determined by how “We the People” vote.

I vote because we, as citizens of the United States, are privileged to choose our representatives in free and fair elections. People all over the world are still fighting for that same basic right. I vote because it is the best way to make my priorities known.

So many great suggestions. Here's what I wrote in the 20 letters I completed earlier: ... I want my kids, my community and EVERYONE to have a better life. I believe that voting is the most powerful and peaceful way to make that happen. I hope you will join me in this election and CHOOSE to be a VOTER. - - - - - Some ideas I saw online today: When we vote, we take back our power to choose, to speak up, to stand with those who support us and each other. In the voting booth, we are all equal. ----- Keep 'em coming friends! peasquared jeremysgirl lucyg scrapmaven onelasttime bc2ca Sorry, I'm rushing and I know I haven't tagged all of you who are politically involved.

because it's the least I can do to honor those that marched, fought and died for the right to vote. This is what I would try to say (and probably not so eloquently) if I wrote my own answer.

Our country was established on the right to vote against taxes without representation.

Because my daughters deserve to live in a free society that values them as human beings. I must be having a day... this thread is making me tear up.
Your reason is the same as mine.
I vote because I want our country to be a better place for my daughter, and for all the women in the US. I want little girls to know they matter and they deserve to have a voice and a place in leadership.

I def. want to incorporate this message in my 2 or 3 sentences. Would you send it to the women AND men on your mailing list? I'm thinking I will...

I love all the answers everyone has given already. My response falls along the lines of “I want a better community for my children and all the children.” But honestly, I agree with everyone else, too.

To honor the women before me who fought to have the right to vote. I am going to use that as is for the cards I send to people with traditionally "women's" names. Thank you!

I’ve been writing letters too. My answer is
I vote because I cannot take for granted something that so many have fought for. I vote for the future that the next generations deserve. I vote because as a cancer patient my life literally depends on having access to healthcare.
Some of yours are better!
