I vote because ...... it's compulsory in Australia, and I'd get fined if I didn't! But seriously, I would vote anyway, even if it were not compulsory. People who don't vote should not complain if they're not happy with what the current government is doing. If they feel strongly enough to complain, they should feel strongly enough to get out and vote.

I vote because it’s my duty to vote I vote because I’m capable of voting I vote because I have empathy for others and I want to make things better. I vote because each vote can matter I vote because it is a right I don’t take for granted I vote because my grandmother couldn’t I vote because previous generations fought for my right to do so and I owe it to them to excercise my right to vote. I vote because it reminds me of my dad who took me to vote my first time
This year I’m voting with the hope I can regain rights I have lost.

My Dad taught us that we can't complain about anything the government does if we don't do our bit. We had previous generations sacrifice everything they had to come to America to live and be free. Many of those ancestors fought and died to have the rights we take for granted

Because IMO, voting is a civic duty.

The postcards I am writing come with a few different suggestions. Im using one of those with a few small tweaks:
{First name}- Please vote! Healthcare & maternal health, childcare, aging & disability care, fair pay, paid family & medical leave, and ending gun violence are so important this year!
Thank you! {My first name}

I believe that bodily autonomy is an essential unconditional liberty, if you don’t own yourself, you own nothing so you bet I am going to vote .

Could I piggy back onto this and ask what you would write if you're writing to college students? Something to engage the young GenZ-ers minds?

It’s my responsibility as a citizen. Also, I have no right to complain if I don’t vote, whether my candidate wins or loses.

I vote because it is a right I do not take lightly.
I also vote to honor my Great Grandmother spent a night in jail for marching for women's right to vote.

Could I piggy back onto this and ask what you would write if you're writing to college students? Something to engage the young GenZ-ers minds? Of course! Do you know for certain that you are writing to that age group? I think the moms of that age group would be best able to come up with good wording - making by asking their kids? I think there is a lot of despair among young adults, I've had people tell me that their kids don't save money, never expect to buy a house or have a planet here long enough for them to save up for, that they live for the moment. I'm thinking if I have anyone to ask... oh I do. Fab twin sisters who are 20. I'll be back.

I did speak with my (millennial) son a while ago. His suggestion is to acknowledge that while these candidates may be imperfect, to vote for the one who most aligns with your concerns for the future. With the escalation in Israel today, it makes the Israel/Gaza issues so much worse, and the GenZ-era have HUGE concerns about Palestinians (as many of us do as well).

Terrific MichyM ! Which org did you receive these postcards from? The website on the info is turnoutpac.org. Not sure if that’s actually who I requested them from, it’s been at least a month. I was not expecting to have anything more than names and addresses (and instructions of course). By the way, did you sit in on the webinar this evening?

However I vote because without voting I have no rights to complain about the government, no right to protest and show no responsibility to the next generation of the importance of taking part in the vote.

My middle ds, just graduated from college, received a letter today. It was about reproductive freedom.
My daughter in law recently found herself in a dangerous pregnancy. She was grateful to make personal decisions with her doctors and spouse - not the government. I vote so every family that wants it can have that freedom
