Linda, the snowflake cards are cute, but the lighthouse card with the blue and white background is especially pretty! Here is mine. I used Coredinations Whitewash green paper. I embossed, then sanded it, but it wasn’t enough of a difference, so then I inked it. I added an AI print and cut, which I mounted on foam tape.

Linda very pretty texture cards. I love your icy colors and the ways you've used the techniques scrapnnana your images are so adorable and your jungle background really sets them off. Glad you worked to highlight it. And using AI to make it cute - clever! grammadee Thank you for the texture challenge! Super cute camera shaker in such cheerful colors. Here is my two-fer with a sanded background. I couldn't find my sanding block so I had to steal some of my husband's sanding paper. Shh!!

jjpeapea , your cards are lovely! And I see nothing wrong with snitching sandpaper from your DH’s stash. I hadn’t thought of doing that, or I probably would have done the same. I had trouble finding my sanding block, so I used a sandpaper style nail file. We use whatever works, right?

On the right is my embossed background with ink over it. Kind of smudgy.

Not sure how well it shows, but I used my score board to frame above and below the sentiment. That would have been the challenge for the 15th, I think:

Welcome to the last Texture Tuesday of October. CARDtober #29: TEXTURE FREE FOR ALL! Your task is to add any type of texture you like to your card. If you dry emboss? Wonderful! Want to heat emboss for puffiness or shine? Super! Use textured materials? Go for it! Use something tried and true, or try something new, but add some texture in some way to your card! Here is my card. I have a couple of items with actual texture you can see and touch--the burlap ribbon, and the lifted butterfly wings. I also have some faux depth and texture with my layered stenciling, and one of the media I used was actually a kind of grit paste. CARDtober #29 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Thanks for playing along all month, and I hope you have fun playing with your supplies and tools for this one!

It’s hard to see but the white circle behind the hello has an embossed wood grain texture. Pretty Paper by jo.blackford, on Flickr I didn’t make this cat piece with the embossed background - I got it in a swap - but I used it on a card! I was happy to see a lot of the other cards I made with Halloween swap items (shared on the loving leftovers thread) had lots of texture too Oct share by jo.blackford, on Flickr

My two-fer texture card has an embossing folder background, some scoring tool woodgrain, and some glitter stockings.

#22 Using up scraps in a "scrap card kit" including the textured
Papers are probably MME patterned papers. Darice Crackle EF then sanded with the white core paper. Studio G sentiment stamped in Delicata Dark Brown Shimmer.

This one completes three challenges and was incredibly fun to create to finish off CARDtober! Texture with ribbon, pressure embossing on vellum and a 3D Angel.
The ribbon is a scrap that just happened to match my favorite color purple. Darice Snowflake Flurry Embossing folder. SB Art Nouveau border die and 3D Angel Ornament. Taylored Expressions Christmas Strips sentiment heat embossing in Delicata Nocturne and clear embossing powder. All mounted on a cut-to-size cardstock base that is duo toned with the lighter color on the inside. Silver and purple cardstock with some fussy cutting to create the 3D Angel.
I really love this card!

Shakti , your Christmas cards for these last challenges are lovely. grammadee , thanks for your challenges, and for organizing CARDtober every year. You’ve done so many great cards, and this last one was very impressive with all the textures. Linda , your sympathy card is very sweet. I am sure whoever receive it will love it. gramma , your birthday card, thank you card, friendship card, and Santa card are delightful. joblackford , your “Hello” cards look great, and that peeking cat is really cute on your Halloween card. What a fun item to receive in a swap. jjpeapea , I love the woodgrain, and your glittery stockings do look like they are ready for Santa to fill. angel97701 , I love all the scraps you used for the thank you card, and your angel card is beautiful. My card for this last texture challenge is below. I used layers first. I fussy cut out the woman, the flowers and sentiment, then I added tiny Nuvo drops overtop the small yellow dots in the purple patterned paper, and I added tiny gems to the centers of the flowers. You can feel the textures if you run your fingers over the card, but they are not as obvious in the photo. I had intended to add a very textured ribbon behind the fussy cuts, but I glued the fussy cuts down first without thinking, and by the time I realized that I had messed up, there was no way to still add it. That was the downside of using liquid glue, and I just couldn’t bring myself to do all that detailed cutting again.

I used a cover plate die for texture, because we hadn’t done that yet:

Crossposted to Mondays and Wednesdays threads, I used corrugated cardboard on one card, then decided to try scoring the brown panel on another card for challenge #15. I tried it horizontal but decided to go vertical, and then realized I'd used the wrong side of the scrap - the branding strip was showing! So I turned it over and scored in between the score lines I'd already done and that helped it lay flatter too. I don't know if you can see it but it's on the top left card Nov share by jo.blackford, on Flickr

Here is my "stepped up" embossing, an inked embossing folder, darker red on red cardstock, 3D embossed. I realized after I put this card together that I could also add some shimmery Solar Paste on the raised surfaces, but I didn't want to mess this clean and simple card up by smearing gold stuff in places I didn't want it, so I let it be. I'll try that on another card though CARDtober by jo.blackford, on Flickr

Thanks so much for playing along with my challenges! I felt pretty farm team, attempting to challenge all of you expert card makers. Thanks so much for taking on my texture challenges and showing us all the different ways each technique can be used! I fell so far behind in commenting over the last couple of weeks. So many cool cards! I think I was caught up to the bottom of page two of this thread, so I am going to look more closely at the cards shared on page three... scrapnnana, that sanded Core-dinations cs is really cool, especially with the colour over top. I love all the textures you added to that last card. I love popped up layers giving a 3-D effect and the tiny stars and dots finish it off nicely. jjpeapea, that little bit of sanding adds a rustic feel to your pretty bird & floral cards. Those hanging stockings are festive and just darling! I have a Christmas stocking cb sticker I want to use, but was thinking I needed a whole fireplace to go with them. But here you go showing me all I need is a strip of woodgrain to mimic a mantle, and I'm good to go. Look for a lift of this card in your future LOL. gramma, your scarecrow card was really cute! Love that scarecrow! And the twine crossing below the greeting adds some fun texture. That exuberant birthday cake with all the embossed circles and foil confetti curls is SO FUN! The scoring on that black woodgrain really takes it up a notch. Love the soft colours on your friend card, and the embossing enforces that soft feel to that card. Had already told you how much I love that soft Santa beard. Shakti, that ornament card with the embossed background and glitter elements is GORGEOUS! Perfect for a special person. And I love that faded blue sky with the pretty focal snowflake. Providing a subtle scored border directly on the sentiment piece is a nice idea. I may try that. Have been doing some larger scored frames, but not that. And using that cover plate on red is also something I had not done. Provides a lovely Christmassy background for your happy green leaves. Linda, your sympathy card is super elegant in its simplicity, and the white on white embossing is a huge part of that. I am always amazed, joblackford, by how you can use all your supplies, even the bits and pieces, to create fun cards. Love that you embossed the sentiment circle, and that that curious black cat found a home! All the different textures on those "Hi" cards add interest. Love all the different ways you oriented the background pieces, too. Every one of those four is unique, even with the same focal image and papers. And kudo's on not giving up when you realized your mistake! And that deeply embossed poinsettia card is gorgeous. I can see mixing it up with some shimmer, but I really love the simple elegance of it as it is. angel97701, your cards this month have all been so intricate and special. Love all the different textures and materials on your thank you card. And the filligree frame lustre ribbon and metallic silver wings are all right on brand for you. Loving all your textured cards, justjac, and left comments in the Gallery. So many fun ways to use these challenges.
