I am just finishing up my bi-weekly chemo and everything has gone well. DS brought me and I’ll take him wherever he wants for a late lunch once we escape here. That will probably count as dinner, too. tmarschall, I’m always up for a freezer clean-out challenge.

tmarschall I need a freezer clean out. Such good news about your dh **GypsyGirl**I love October. It’s my favorite month. Hopefully it’s fall temps at home this weekend when I’m home. Went back to the farm from dinner last night to see it during the day. It would be a perfect destination wedding site. We also went to a winery nearby. Also a beautiful destination wedding site. Dd3 is not even engaged but I’m just filing info away. www.casarondena.com/lospoblanos.com/. The food was delicious at the farm. Tonight is a dinner at the conference site. No idea what they’re serving. Dh doesn’t pass that info on. 🙄 I’m dying for humidity My skin is so dry and my nose keeps bleeding.

Okay, I finally made it back to the thread! Spent most of the afternoon with DH and got home about 4 pm. Started a new needlepoint ornament (Jif peanut butter) while I watched the news. Dinner was fried okra fresh from our little garden! There was just enough for one so I figured why not! Fried okra is a serious contender for my favorite veggie. Planning to do some quilt blocks tonight while I listen to the VP debate. Won't change my mind on who I'll vote for but there isn't much else on that interests me. lucyg - So glad to hear that your chemo treatments went well. Do you have much longer? scrapmaven - Hope your roof estimate went well. The best advice I have for the day they do it is to wear noise cancelling headphones all day and crank your music up! I've been having to do that in recent weeks because so many of my neighbors have had to replace their roofs after Hurricane Beryl. Quite a few of them needed it anyway to be honest.

Okay teddyw and lucyg, and anyone else...let's talk tomorrow about a little challenge. I think I'm going to start by going thru it and list what's in there, then maybe figure out a plan to make meals out of the mess. I'm so glad your chemo went well, my friend. ❤️

teddyw .....that place is gorgeous! I love that you're already considering it for your dd who isn't engaged yet @gyspygirl......So happy your DH is getting better every day! bc2ca ....oooh, that apple looks delicious! DH, Beatrice, and I have apples every night. Our faves lately are Fujis---very firm and perfect sweetness. I usually dip mine in peanut butter....YUM! There are a few new (to us) types of beautiful-looking apples at Aldi that we'd like to try. I just buy 1 or 2 at first, in case they're too soft (bleeccch!) or taste weird. **edited to add** I cannot WAIT to go to Trader Joe's to see all the Fall stuff! I'm sure they have LOTS of apple varieties, too! I've read people compare Aldi and Trader Joe's many times; and it turns out, the two stores are related. I just wish TJs wasn't such a long drive. leannec ...thanks for sharing the deets of your speed dating. "Country music guy" sounds promising. @tcmarschall....Yes, I remember HeartCat. A few times, some people were rude to her, which was so mean. I attended a Zoom support group for pet grief this evening. The therapist who runs the group is paw-some! As you can imagine, some of the hoomans' experiences with pet loss are just heartbreaking. BUT, I like that the therapist asked us to share FUNNY / HAPPY stories and photos. I was doing fine for the first hour, until the therapist said a few things that made me cry. I think therapy/ sharing with others/ crying are all great things, but I am seriously SO. TIRED. of crying! If it's not the doggies, it's my nephew, my Dad, etc. But I'm SO thankful for all the help that's available!

My baby is so unwell. He has had diarrhea all day long. I made him a chicken breast to eat. He is having anaesthesia tomorrow to get his ear cleaned out. The vet said she would decide tomorrow.
Today was a lot of drama. I channeled my inner Compwalla at a guy yelling into his phone at a mental health hospital . I lost my shit on him for yelling. He was all wtf? I told him THIS IS A HOSPITAL. GO OUTSIDE. Omg I needed to recover after that. I am calling out bad men’s behaviour. There were 2 little old ladies trying to have a conversation. I am not sorry.
Dinner is Tums. I have a wicked stomachache.

scrapmaven.....I HOPE this is not your experience, but we had our roof replaced a few weeks ago, and they had to come for several days. Omg, the NOISE! Some of their work wasn't quite right, so they returned 4 more times. I was bummed for DH, because he had replaced all the wood and painted the dormers on the second story a few years ago. These new guys re-did them, but not as nicely as DH had. I always marvel not just at the beautiful work DH does, but his SKILL level !!! I always struggled with math, so when I see him doing all this complicated math before he builds things, I'm in awe of how smart some people are! He's built a deck outside of the kitchen, a cute little deck (with stairs) around our (above-ground) pool, 2 sheds, beautiful landscaping with stones, and he also built the COOLEST doggie-door / stairs area for Meaty and Sophie. These are all hobbies for him, and he LOVES it.

@deltadawn....oh nooo! I hope your doggie gets better! lucyg......I'm SO glad your chemo is going well. It always surprizes me when you say you're fine, because everything I've read says chemo is very difficult. Since I've never known anyone IRL who's been through what you have, I only know from reading. Wayy back when I was working in the NICU, if our census was low, we had to float to other floors. They sent me to the oncology floor several times, but I was there so rarely, I didn't learn much about it.

I was very relieved to find out the roof will only take 2 days. I thought it would be a week long process. We don't have to replace the wood underneath and that's gonna make it go quickly. lucyg, I hope that you're feeling well after chemo. I have a friend who is starting chemo on Thursday. Like you, she has a great attitude. leannec, It sucks that you didn't meet anyone worth pursuing. How cringey that your met a guy from a dating site. tmarschall, do you want to start a challenge tmw? That's a great idea.

I love that you're already considering it for your dd who isn't engaged yet I'll tell you a secret ... I watch videos about wedding things and follow this amazing wedding expert on Facebook/Youtube ... I'm obsessed with dresses! My 25 year old dd has been with her boyfriend for almost 10 years ... we want a ring!!! They will be buying a house next year so a wedding won't happen right away but the planning would be fun! "Country music guy" sounds promising. Unfortunately, he didn't pick me so we won't meet again ... no biggie! Good for you! People like that make my blood boil! Jerk!

leannec.... I LOVVVVe looking at wedding gowns, too. I used to watch the show "Say Yes To The Dress." I also discovered that HBO has another old show I used to watch; "Four Weddings", which I ended up bingeing yesterday. You would probably love this show! Each episode shows 4 weddings, and the really unique/ non-traditional ones are SO fun to watch. One of my fave parts is when they show/explain allll the details of the dress and veil. I fast-forward through some parts, but NEVER the dresses! I also love to draw wedding gowns. In junior high school, there was a boy I was a liiiiittle bit obsessed over. I still have some of my drawings of our wedding. Annnnd, I wrote out my "married" name with many different styles of script.

leannec .....I've posted you-tube vids here before where UK peAple can't view them, so I wonder if you can see them in Canada? Was searching for a clip to show you, and found out they have a Canadian version! This is not the best quality, but there are so many perfect quality vids on youtube.( I also realize you may not be interested in this at ALL but just in case...). (but you can also watch all the (American, at least) seasons on HBO Max, and/or probably other streamers) And thanks to you-tube, now I find out there are Canadian AND UK versions. Which ones will I watch first?

leannec and scrappintoee I love those shows too. Perfect for binging. Dd2 has a friend who went to Kleinfelds to get her dress.
