Awesome cards, joblackford. I especially like the muted primaries. Great challenge! And it will be a challenge cuz I have already packed up my stuff for the crop and plan to be all Christmas cards all the time... Hmmm... I have some purply gnomes packed. So I need a yellowy orange and greeny teal? Should be able to find something...

Linda you're rocking these card challenges! Your witch's cauldron 🎃 !! I love the tones of your rainbow card for the first challenge and the black and white pumpkins with the soft, almost eucalyptus green is so cool. Who would've thought a fall card with no orange would make such an impact.

So I need a yellowy orange and greeny teal? Should be able to find something... I tried to include a sort of Christmas-ish idea for you knowing you were working on holiday cards! But then I realized that aqua, pink, and gold are not much represented in North American Christmas collections, or not without a good shot of green and red as well. Anyway, I know you'll come up with something fun

Linda That's SO cute and comical with the witch legs sticking up and the Halloween colors. joblackford Thank you for the triad challenge. Your monster is cute and your gravestone very spooky. Your holiday card is well done - I like the blue and white with just a touch of red and yellow. My colors might not be perfectly distributed but they are kind of distributed around the wheel, in a pastel way. This is a two-fer with the ribbon as well.

joblackford , another great challenge and a great variety of examples. This shouldn’t be as hard as it seems to be for me. Maybe I’m just tired, or I obviously just choose my colors without thinking much about it. Linda , your witch’s cauldron is super cute, and I love the matting behind the phrase and the cauldron. jjpeapea , that is a lovely Christmas card, and very nice color triad. Edited to add: I could have sworn that I posted my card here last night, but I was tired, so it might have gone to the wrong thread. I used blue, lavendar, and a golden yellow for my triad.

scrapnnana and grammadee I love that you both used lavender in your color combos but with totally different looks. Blue lavender and golden yellow reminds me of summer 🐝 I had that Paper Rose collection on my wishlist but ended up buying a couple of different collections instead. It’s so pretty. I hope ypu’re having fun with it. The cards are great. Love the torn details, especially the 2nd one.

This one is for your orange and blue challenge. The picture on the front was taken from our cruise ship on our last night. It will be sent to my sister. What looks like gray is really blue water and sky IMG_20241027_214550496_HDR by CLAUDIA LOVELESS, on Flickr

Found a paper pad in my stash with a triad color scheme, more or less. Was going to make a small set, but ended up using scraps to make one: I only made one because I remembered how much I hate working with this paper pad. Pulled out a couple of heart prints I think will be good for valentines and plunked the rest into the "donate" box....

gramma and scrappyrabbit thanks for adding so many wonderful cards to the thread. If you did them in response to the challenge then they count in my book! I love all of the unexpected color combinations on your Halloween cards scrappyrabbit. The neon green window on the rainbow is my favorite, but they are all so fun. Are these the cards your little bunny helped with? The cousins will love them. gramma using that lovely photo for the blue and orange prompt was a great idea. I love your black and white diagonal striped cards. That’s an idea I will be tucking away to use up some scraps I have. Your condolences card is lovely too.

That’s a wonderfully cheerful card Shakti and I’m always happy to help people declutter! No point in keeping paper that you don’t enjoy.

Final CARDtober challenge: easy peasy - use your favorite color on a card That could be a color you love to wear or a color you love to craft with or just what you answer when someone refuses to accept "I love all the colors!" and makes you pick a favorite. I also love all the colors but if I have to pick one I usually say indigo blue. So here's my final sample using a very deep indigo blue background. CARDtober 31 by jo.blackford, on Flickr Feel free to make any kind of card you like, include as much or as little of your chosen color as you like, and remember there's no favorite-color-police. No one is going to contradict you if you have a different favorite color today than when someone asks you another day

Thanks for a final super fun challenge, joblackford! I have many favourites for different reasons, but as I have mentioned many times, the colour I use most in scrapbooking and card making is BLUE. And shade of blue from teal to indigo. Hoping to finish my three outstanding CARDtober challenges on Friday. And with this one, I may be able to combine them...

Thank you for all the colorful fun this CARDtober joblackford! I would say it's a toss up as to whether blue or green is my favorite -- I use both a LOT in my crafting. But for the sake of this challenge, I'm saying green: I completely intended this as another holiday card, but even I can see that it looks more like a sympathy card. Not sure where I'll go with it....

Shakti, that card is amazing. Love how it looks like you are viewing that peaceful scene through a window. Did you create that background?

I wish, grammadee! Actually, both the frame and the scene are from the same double-sided 8x6 piece from Honeybee's Adventure Awaits (or something like that) paper pad. The plain green was the reverse.

Thank you for the super open color challenge. Here is my two-fer. I was already planning a stocking card with texture, so I thought I would use my favorite shade of blue/green - a nice saturated turquoise or aqua.

This one completes three challenges and was incredibly fun to create to finish off CARDtober! I don't always get to scrap in the purple world as I have boys and a non-traditional girl . . . BUT purple is my favorite color EVEN if the color police aren't checking. Just ask my DH! 26n29n31OctAngel by Neva Cole, on Flickr The ribbon is a scrap that just happened to match my favorite color purple. Darice Snowflake Flurry Embossing folder. SB Art Nouveau border die and 3D Angel Ornament. Taylored Expressions Christmas Strips sentiment heat embossing in Delicata Nocturne and clear embossing powder. All mounted on a cut-to-size cardstock base that is duo toned with the lighter color on the inside. Silver and purple cardstock with some fussy cutting to create the 3D Angel. I really love this card!

Oops, didn't get this posted but this is #24 Triad (as well as #25) I made a different card at first but didn't like it enough to even photograph it!
The papers are side A and B from an old Basic Grey collection, not sure which one! Prima flowers, misc brads, Spellbinders die (cut a long time ago!) and Altenew Elegant saying stamp and die set. Memento Danube Blue ink.

grammadee , I never would have thought to use those colors on Christmas cards, but your cards are stunning! scrappyrabbit your Halloween cards are so fun and cute. Shakti , I think that already commented on the colorful card you made in a different CARDtober Challenge, but your peace card is absolutely beautiful. gramma angel97701 , I already commented on your purple card in a different thread, but I love that you used scraps. Your faith and hope card for the #24 challenge is very sweet. joblackford , thanks for an easy last challenge. While I can’t see the indigo blue well in the image, your Boo to You card is so fun. My favorite color is royal blue, although I love any shade of blue. I also love pinks and purples. Sadly, manufacturers don’t do a lot of royal blue. The card stock that I used for my card was the closest that I could get. I hand made my flowers with Heartfelt Creations dies and the matching flower shaping mold. Then I watercolored the blossoms and added the prills in the centers. The watercolors have a shimmer, which actually showed in this photo. Sadly, I didn’t have a good royal blue in my watercolors, but I think I will use my watercolors more than inking for shading them in the future, so thank you, angel97701 for helping me to learn to like them.

I think I will use my watercolors more than inking for shading them in the future I don't pull mine out as often as I should either, but I completely agree that watercolor seems like a much simpler way to work with die cuts compared to ink blending!

Think my life is going to be more settled for the next week or so. I fully intend to come back to all seven CARDtober threads to leave love for all the eye candy. This morning, during mom's on line crop, I managed to complete three cards. The one on the right is all in different shades of BLUEs. The foil looks black here, but it is teal.
