I haven't ever eaten Walleye. I do love most types of fish though. What is it similar to, if anything? Can you buy walleye in the store or is it not sold commercially?

It's a very mild white fish and it's the king around here. It kind of tastes like perch. I like it breaded and fried or baked, or broiled... yum, I just LIKE it! ![](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) My good news for today is my brother went fishing again this morning. Praying for more walleye. ETA: No, it's not a trout. Walleye

Wow that's fantastic! Always a treat especially when you are the recipient. I haven't had that myself but prefer mild white fish so now I have a new one on my list to try. My dh is going deep sea fishing soon and the catch seems to be tuna...very excited and crossing my fingers he's successful.

Walleye is a white fish, mild, flaky fillets. Yes, big time king around here. We usually fillet them, chunk them, roll them in milk, and shore lunch breading and deep fry. SOOOOO good!!

I don't think I've ever had walleye. Me either but I've seen a lot of people talking about it lately...must be in season. Is it a whitefish?

Love it cooked on the grill! My only problem with it is when bones get left in the fillets. Enjoy the fresh catch!

Sounds yummy! All we seem to get around here are trout, not my favorite to eat unless it's smoked.
Now I want to go fishing...

It's been "in season" as long as I've lived here and that's almost 60 years ![](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Yes, it's a mild flakey whitefish.

That meal will be so tasty.
DS fishes on either Lake Eire or Lake Ontario
He has brought home Fresh Walleye and Fresh Perch, and they were yummy.
