I have never seen one on a lawn in person, only the pictures of them when I googled to make sure I knew what a porch goose was. I think it is a fun thing to see and I would love it if my neighbors had them. But I don’t think they would be allowed here in this community.
We get a community newsletter twice a month and the latest one came today. There was an article about doing away with the warning letters that the office has been giving to homes that are not following the community rules. I guess some members want to go straight to a fine, which I personally don’t think should happen. Especially since this is a community of elderly people that might take longer to get things accomplished.
I learned that there have been letters given for messy yards that are not being maintained properly, leaving your trash can in front of your garage, and displaying any political signs in your front yard. I knew thatI hadn’t seen any, but I didn’t know they are not allowed.
So if we cannot have a sign, I kind of think we cannot have a porch goose dressed up either. Well, maybe if it is only sitting on someone’s actual porch it would be ok. I know my front porch cannot be seen from the street very well. It is elevated and there is a wooden railing. Plus there are a couple of bushes that are tall enough to kind of hide the bottom area of the porch. No one would know I had a goose unless they walked right up to the porch itself. I may ask at the office the next time I am in there.

I don't like resin sculptures (or Christmas ornaments,) so I think the concrete one is cute but the average one, not so much

I’ve never seen one and won’t be getting one, but I’d love to have a neighbor who asked me to dress theirs up. I love making clothes for dolls.

Oh my, we were married in 1987 and geese decor was popular. My first kitchen was country blue with accents of soft pink with geese everywhere. I thought it was soooo cute! I wish I would have thought to take pictures. Never had a porch goose and don't think that's ever going to happen for me. On my commute to work, however, there is a beater pick up truck parked in a neighborhood that has a skeleton that stands up in the truck bed that gets dressed up year 'round in holiday clothing. LOL!

Some amazing soul gifted me one for my classroom porch. I’m turning 50 this year so I have been getting a lot of “old lady” gifts left for me.
I can’t tell you the joy it has brought my entire school.
Gucille Ball is very loved. I need to get more clothes for her. The kids are always asking what she will wear next, but at $20ish a pop, they are going to have to suffer 🤣

I have to tell you about one little guy in our building. He thinks Gucille is real. He is special needs and just can’t seem to grasp she is not alive.
Visits to see Gucille really calms him when he is upset. He told me she was a good listener and always smiles at him 🥰

My former next door neighbor has one. It's not for me, but she loves it. I'll have to tell her she's trendy again!

We have turkeys. They are real. They trash the place. Fake birds are much better behaved.
We do have a "porch" goose in the back yard by a little dry creek. He is with a turtle and a three piece alligator. We have a lot of trees in the back yard, so when I actually see them, they make me smile.

We’ve never had one but our neighbors at the lake do. They don’t dress it up though, it just sits on a post in the front yard. My nephew and his wife just inherited a pair of them from her grandma, including a whole seasonal wardrobe of outfits for both. Their kids just love them!
