Didn't they die in the 80s or 90s? Why?

I never owned one but I liked them. A house several blocks away had one and it had the cutest, funniest outfits.

I liked them too back then - I was in a real "country" decor phase - shadow boxes with all the little knick knack fillers, country signs, florals, all the things lol. I guess all things old are coming back lol.

I thought that about paisley and platform shoes.
Live long enough and it all comes back around.

I don't know but they are cute and I'm kind of glad they are making a comeback. There was a family that lived near my parents (YEARS ago) that had two they dressed for different holidays (implying one male and one female) and then they had a baby goose. Every time I would visit, I'd want to drive by and see how they were dressed. Once we drove by and the male and female were dressed and all black and the female had a black veil and was holding a sign that said "Someone stole my baby...please return it" and the mail held a sign that said "no questions asked". I don't ever think it was returned but they did end up with about 7 baby geese that I think people gave them (but those didn't get outfits, just the "parents")

My mom used to make stuffed ones back in the day. I don't know if they were put on a porch but they sold like hotcakes! She also did mice.

Guilty as charged! I've had this goose for 35+ years and have scarves for Spring, Patriotic, Fall and Winter. He's a fixture on our porch wherever we've lived.

My dad loved a neighbors back in the '90s. Maybe he needs a porch goose for Christmas.

I never had a porch goose, but when I got married in 1986, I registered for a set of every day dishes that had a checkered border with geese around the edges. Also, a set of canisters with geese on them. I am pretty sure I had some dish towels and wall art as well. LOL

i think it's exactly that- they were popular in the 90s, and everything 90s is cool again.

Now I'm quite sure I'm going to ask for a porch goose for Christmas. I have heard of them of course but never owned one.

I think people enjoy having something 'fun' to do in life and dressing up their ducks seems to do the trick for them.

peabay ~summer~ - Here you go! Just dying to have your own lawn goose I'm sure! As you can see they sold patterns so that you could make entire wardrobes for them. Not something I got into, but I used to see them around. Maybe it was just a thing in the South?

Porch geese have never been a thing anywhere I've lived, but I do remember them from the Heck's porch in The Middle.
We do have a neighbor that has a group of skeletons he started decorating during Covid and 4+ years later is still at it. They fit in this time of year for Halloween, then will transition in pilgrims, santa & elves, NYE partiers, Valentine lovers, Easter, etc. His tightest challenge is giving both May the 4th and Cinco de Mayo enough time for locals to get photos.

I sold some geese blow molds years ago..... Maybe 2016. They were dressed up as Santa. Maybe that's why they sold?
