I have a pasta roller that was given to me as a gift. It is one piece and does the three things the KA set does. I have used my daughter’s KA set and I think it works better than what I have, but you have to change out the pieces as you are using it. I really do like what I have, so if someone were looking for something less expensive, mine came from Amazon and probably cost about $75.

I've been wanting that pastry beater. I'm so disappointed to see it's only $5 off.

I have the glass bowl and it's so damn heavy once it's loaded up with batter. I'm looking at the copper bowl. And the fresh prep attachments would be useful.

I want the sifter/scale attachment SO BAD but just can't justify spending the money right now. I got it shortly after it came out. I used Kohl's cash to get it at Kohl's. Had just done winter shopping for the kids and I and only had to pay a little from my bank account. I love that attachment. My baking has really improved using scale measurements over traditional.

I bought the sifter/scale a couple of months ago and I can't wait to use it for my holiday baking!! If anyone is wondering, I have the food prep attachments and it makes it really easy to shred mozzarella cheese. It's such a soft cheese and annoying to shred by hand or with a regular food processor. Thanks for the heads up about the sale!

Once I started shredding my own cheese, it's hard to go back to buying bags of shredded cheese. The anti-clumping stuff really changes the flavor and texture.

So nice to buy the big block and shred my own and freeze in smaller portions. The cheese tastes so much better than the pre-shredded cheese from the store!

I will go look through the metal bowls --- do you know about the ceramic bowls? The striped white one also caught my eye. I wont be using it a ton - maybe 6x a year? So it wont be an everyday use thing for me.

This might be a silly question, but does freezing the self shredded cheese change the texture or anything?

I think about the same weight as the glass bowls and not all have handles. I use the handle to get the bowl twisted on and off as well as to hold as I scrape out the batter.

I shred, lay flat on a cookie sheet in the freezer (gallon ziplock if I don't have room for a cookie sheet), and flash freeze. Once frozen I place 1 cup cheese in food saver bags. If you food saver while not frozen it clumps together. I keep the frozen cheese in the freezer and take out 1 cup at a time. I take out in the afternoon and place in fridge and it is ready for dinner.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep an eye on Kohls. My baking as improved since using a scale vs. 1 cup flour, etc measurements. I'm in the process of transitioning all my recipes. The consistency can't be beat.

And if I was being honest, I really just liked the way the white bowl looked. But I really don't want heavy.

The glass bowls are prone to breaking too. at least it happened to two of my friends who had one and it has happened on several cooking shows.

Has anyone tried the ice cream attachment? I'm most tempted by that one, even though it's what I need the least!

Has anyone tried the ice cream attachment? I'm most tempted by that one, even though it's what I need the least! I had it but gave it to a friend. I used it for sherbet, ice cream, and margaritas. Once I became allergic to egg, lactose, and alcohol, I didn't use it. My best advice is to store it out of the freezer. I kept it in a cabinet and the night before I knew I'd use it, I'd pop it in the freezer. I would also let it sit for an entire day to come to room temp before washing. Other wise it will crack

I had enough freezer space that I used to just keep it in the freezer so it was ready anytime. We moved and I haven't pulled it out so it's still packed away at the moment.
I have a small kitchen so having attachments to the Kitchen Aid rather than having to store another appliance is really useful to me.

I'm debating on moving from the tilt head to a bowl lift. I'm conflicted because I have several bowls, lids and attachments (not the appliances but multiple of the paddles) that would all be obsolete if I transitioned. 😔
My OG tilt head I got 20+ yrs ago for my wedding. I bake over a thousand cookies every holiday and last year I over stressed the motor and it died shortly after. I was gifted a hand-me-down one (yellow-orange which is not my color) but I realized is a lower motor power and I'm afraid of killing it too with my big batches of cookie dough.
Do I get a more powerful tilt head or go for the bigger and even more powerful bowl lift even though none of my extras will work with it.

I prefer the tilt head over the bowl lift. I got it for larger batches and stickier things like royal icing. It's the noise that drives me crazy and I find it easier to add ingredients to the tilt head than bowl lift. It is nice though to have 2 going at the same time. I got my 6qt at Costco. Back then they were $249. I am not sure if KA stopped making the 6 qt pros because you can only find them at Costco or refurbished. They have the 7 qt though with 500 watts over 325 Watts with the 5qt.
