Good morning.
Today I'm going to work on my office decorating. I got the stuff I needed and now I have to do the work. I need to get the junk off of my desk, so that it looks nice. A plastic box of Zig Writers is not decorative. So, that's my morning. This afternoon I have my voice lesson, but I haven't practiced my new aria, because of my cold.
What are you doing today?
Dinner will be Chinese noodle soup.
What's on your menu?
leannec, did you see your new fella yesterday?
How is everyone doing?
What is your plan for the week?
I don't have anything planned, but I do hope to see my mom friends at some point. Apart from that, I've been practice knitting and I might start the big lego everyone bought me last month. It's Hogwarts Castle. I cannot wait to build it.
Enjoy a happy, fulfilling, productive and fun week, ahead!

Happy Monday!
I've got a busy week of birthday festivities for family. Yesterday we had a big lunch for one sister for her birthday. Tonight, it's my BIL's birthday so we're going to dinner at a local Italian place. Tomorrow, is my mom's birthday and I think we're taking her to Red Lobster. Family gets in town from Seattle this weekend and we're having a progressive brunch crawl for all of the October birthdays. Not many meals will probably be at home this month but it should be fun.
Today, I'm just working on socials so it's my happy place.
Hope you all have a great day!

I've got a little cold. It's just enough to be annoying (like disrupting my sleep, I'm tired) but not enough to take a full blown day off. I'm lucky that I don't have any meetings today. Nothing until 1pm tomorrow. Also, the September accounting period will finally close tonight so until that happens, I'm light on work right now. So at least I can take it easy. Organizing your craft room sounds good to me scrapmaven. When you're done, come do mine, wontcha? LOL! Seriously my craft/sewing/office rooms need some help. Tearisci you are so busy. It would be rough for me to have that many nights/weekends out. But I am a bit jealous over how close your family is. You are lucky in that respect. I'm making a Thai red lentil chili tonight. It's Southern meets Asian yumminess. I'm going to go all fancy and call it fusion. Let's hope the recipe is good.

Dinner is stir fry vegetables with steamed basmati rice, cauliflower rice, and rice noodles.
Going to watch the Chiefs game. Hoping we go 5-0.
Going to batch make some GF waffles and pancakes for DD while I cook some vegetables broth. Using today as a freezer prep day since it will be too hot to go outside.
We will finally see mid 90s to mid 80s. The heat wave is "over" as of tomorrow 🙄 I want me 70s and 60s. Over shorts.

jeremysgirl, I'm sorry to hear that you have a cold. Can you wrap up in a blankie while you're working? I hope that it's a minor cold and that you feel much better, very fast. I would happily do your craft room organization. It's a weird phenomenon, but I can go to your house and organize a room. Yet, in my house it's rocket science to organize a room. Take good, loving care of yourself.

IT's been in the 70s here which is a lot warmer than normal. I'm over it. Today is high of 65. It was low 50s last night and I left all my windows open. I'm all about fall.

Sorry you're not feeling well. I hate that in-between where you're not sick enough not to work but still not feeling 100%. This is going to be a very busy month and I've got mixed feelings about it. I usually like to spend the first part of the week at home hermitting and then I'm more social toward the end of the week, but I don't think that's going to happen much this month. I need to find time to get an oil change and get my car cleaned out this week too. Not sure when I'm going to get everything done. Luckily, I did my major cleaning this weekend so that the house is ready.

My bank account will appreciate lower temps. Edison bills this summer and early fall for everyone have been outrageous. 😭 Oh and I had a random bad reaction last night after having homemade honey butter on safe bread. I haven't had honey in awhile so I'm not sure if it was a new food allergy or possible allergen reaction as honey can contain allergens that are local. Either way my eyes almost swelled shut and I have hives. Thankfully the 2 Benadryl calmed it down and I didn't need my epi pens. Good gosh. I swear at some point I will be for.ula fed myself. Sigh

Can you wrap up in a blankie while you're working? Here's what's funny. I have been in and out of my bedroom all morning wanting to get my favorite blanket to wrap up in. But...I don't want to disturb the kitty laying on it. So I haven't attempted to take it. LOL!

Geez on the reaction pantsonfire. Just what you needed. I've been hanging in there, but I'll tell you I've been a nervous wreck to eat anything that isn't vegan. So I'm avoiding eggs and dairy. I'm nervous it's one of those things.

Good evening Today is our last day in Venice - tomorrow we head to Merano in the South Tyrol for a few days at a spa hotel. First thing I’m doing when I get there is booking a massage for my aching legs and back. Today we went to the Gallerie dell’Accademia - a wonderful art gallery, mainly filled with works from early Venetian artists. Titian, Tintoretto and Canaletto are just some of the incredible artist from here and we saw some magnificent pieces. We had lunch in a cafe just outside when we were done - we split a prosciutto and mushroom pizza. We wandered back to our accommodation, going past a restaurant to book for tonight’s dinner. We were there Saturday and had their steak special and it was so good we’re going back for their whole baked fish tonight. After dropping off our souvenir shopping, we then went out again for the one experience we hadn’t yet done - a gondola ride. I know it’s cheesy and ultra-touristy, but it was a fun and relaxing half hour. I’ll try to post a few pictures tomorrow when we are settled in our new hotel.

We have friends (DH's friend since 5th grade and his wife) arriving tomorrow to spend the night so I decided to skip AquaFit this morning. Too much to do. The guys will play golf tomorrow then Wednesday we'll attend a gathering of their high school golf team. I enjoy seeing a few of the people but they've been telling the same stories for 40 years. Connie and I wish the guys would go without us. Dinner tonight might be pork chops.

leannec, did you see your new fella yesterday? I did! He came over after work ... he was in the neighbourhood ... We just talked for a couple of hours ... so nice! Oh, and he rubbed and tickled my feet ... heaven! I expected to work today but it didn't happen ... So no plans during the day ... My teacher friend wants to go to Costco with me so I'm picking him up from his school this afternoon and we're going there ... I need a few things ... Making my list now! No idea on dinner right now ... maybe perogies!

sueg , a gondola ride is a must! Sounds like you're having a very fun vacation. jeremysgirl , when the cat is on the blanket, snoozing away then the cat wins. How can you wake up that adorable, furry friend?
leannec, nice that things are going well w/your new guy.
@cadoodelbug, at least you'll have Connie to talk to at the reunion. Good meme today. Enjoy your visit.
Our stray is sitting by our tomato beds, just hanging out. Dh thinks she looks bigger today. I'll have to go check. My 2 kitties seem nonplussed by her. They no longer go apecat when they see her through the window.

sueg there is no way I'd go to Venice and skip the gondola ride. Not cheesy. Not cheesy but we skipped it. Busy day My dd has so much sickness all day and asked me to drive her to her OB appointment. First I had to drop off my jack o lanterns, pick up online groceries, studio- instead of preparing yesterday I worked on 2 watercolors. I know I have something tonight but I can’t remember what it is 😵💫 tmarschall I’ve used all the chicken in my freezer and got rid of the freezer burned stuff. After cleaning it up more than half is my dh’s smoothie supplies. Undecided on dinner at this point.

Happy Monday! scrapmaven my scrap room is out of control. I need a good solid day in there with no interruptions to work on it. Tearisci sounds like a fun week of celebrating! hutchfan I am so sorry for your loss. jeremysgirl happy to hear you can take it easy to hopefully get rid of your cold. pantsonfire that sounds horrible. Hopefully it's not a new allergy. sueg I don't think a gondola ride is cheesy at all! Another gorgeous day here. I am soaking them up before it gets too cold for me. It has been a very productive day in the office so far. I've knocked a lot off my to do list. Dinner is undecided at this point.

Happy Monday dinner friends! leannec Awww, new love!:-) Do you have plans to see him again? Hope so! scrapmaven you can come and organize my craft room and sewing room/office too. I'm mulling over trading the office/sewing room with our guest room. The guest room is slightly smaller but has a walk in closet and one window that doesn't go to the floor, it has more light early in the day and overlooks the greenbelt behind the house, the current office/sewing room has two floor length windows, the huge oak tree keeps it fairly dark, but is at the front of the house. decisions decisions! I've also taken over part of the upstairs family room with my card/scrapbooking stuff. I would like to somehow contain it all to one room. The reality is that I just have way too much stuff! DH headed to the ranch today, so I'm in clean the house mode, our housecleaner rotation has been pushed back by a week, I reached my threshold of puppy dirt. I'm actually enjoying cleaning and having the house to myself. Dinner will be whatever I feel like at that hour. Wishing everyone a wonderful Monday!

Happy Monday! My daughter STILL talks about the gondola ride in Venice. It was the absolute highlight of our first trip to Italy. It actually might be the only thing she remembers vividly-the gondolier put her on a little stool and told her it was the princess chair - I think she was 5ish.
No idea what's for dinner here - I have to go to the store. I also think we're on one of our last couple weeks of farm boxes, so I'll need to start buying veggies again. I am feeling fall and have a hankering for stew or soup, but I think we'll still be in the 80s here, so am going to hold off on that plan!

Fall has arrived and brought cooler temps today. It’s pants and long sleeve weather.
DH and I did a big grocery run today but I will still need to get a few things before cooking Thanksgiving dinner this weekend.
I checked out all the Little Libraries in my town last night and found some good reads. I rode my bike and took a bag full to exchange. It’s a great way to get rid of some that I’ve read and restock my library.
Supper tonight will be rotisserie chicken, macaroni salad, coleslaw and beans.

Let's see, anyone else have their 91 yr old co-worker fall and possibly break their hip at 9:15am, in the office? Did anyone finally get to voice some frustration to their boss and just sort of break down in tears because that is how your frustration manifests? Can anyone barely walk or move without a sudden jabbing pain in their back from some unknown cause? No? Just me? Well, that is how my Monday is progressing. Dinner plans? Well, if I have to think of them then they will be a Home Chef meal. So either chicken and dumpling soup or something with steak. I can't remember what it is at the moment. Maybe a stiff drink and nothing else. Can we say that out loud here? scrapmaven ohhhhh a desk organization project. I have a scrap room that is begging me to come back but it must be cleaned out and up first. I keep putting it off. Tearisci sounds like our birthday week at the end of May. Almost one after the other. However, we don't do all the get togethers. hutchfan I just can't get myself to like tortellini. Even in a soup. But it does sound good. I am sorry about your week and the events. jeremysgirl , you will definitely need to update us on the soup outcome. It sounds wonderful! pantsonfire I would love to do more stir frys. However, my choice of veggies and DH's choice of veggies don't work for SF. Well, mine do work but his... Have fun at the game! Now for a bit of good news. I had my 6 month check up last week with my PCP. I got my bloodwork letter on Friday. My total cholestrol was 183, down from 202. All the other numbers were down and in normal levels. I was told to stop taking my Lipitor. We would see what numbers look like next visit and use these as markers. There was also a small weight loss there. So I don't know what has changed other than I have been choosing to eat more chicken. Less red meat. In the past 3 weeks to a month, there has been a more plant based diet happening. The girl in the office said to keep up whatever I was doing as it was working. So in the effort to take back me, it seems my plan will stay with this. I didn't have exercise in there and will be adding back my rowing and now that Satan Summer is backing off, I can start to walk outside a bit. I need to do some of that with DH as he needs to strengthen some muscles.

Dinner was amazing last nigh. I was standing in the kitchen trying to do stuff (chop, peel, whatever) and the kids come and take over everything. It was awesome. They cleaned up, put the dishwasher on.
My dad brought out a good bottle of champagne from Champagne and they all loved it. It looked very pretty in their glasses.
