I have the Ring doorbell which rarely gets used other than by delivery drivers. I have never once spoken to anyone with it, though you can, obviously.
I also have a Ring floodlight cam on my garage that looks over the driveway and front yard. It has exceptional video and picks up audio too. It sees and knows all. It is hard wired into the garage lights.
It's motion detecting and the lights come on and camera and audio start recording when triggered. It has come in handy a couple times when we needed that footage! We were reported for a HOA violation that we could prove was false. And then had an altercation with the same asshole who didn't know he was being recorded --sure changed his tune when he was told we had audio and video.
When we bought that one it was bundled with a simpler camera that has video only and uses a rechargeable battery, that I use on the back door.
I also have another in my laundry room to monitor the cats when I'm gone (their food and litter box is in there), which plugs into an outlet and records video but no audio.

I have an older Ring wired doorbell at home and it works great. At the cabin we have motion light camera up top and a stick up cam down by the lake. I use the alarm on the one by the lake to scare the geese off the lawn! It works great. Just make sure you have good wi-fi and you'll love it! I catch quite a bit of wildlife on our cameras. A deer walking down my driveway, stray cats, the little boy who uses our dock to fish.

I just have the regular outdoor ring cam - battery operated rechargeable. The battery lasts a couple months or so. I think it is like $4 a month for Ring to keep the videos, otherwise it is only live view.
It is super handy, we have it in our driveway pointed at one of our back doors.

We have three outdoor cameras and I love them. We are both sick so I can see if the mailman came, packages have been delivered but most importantly, my husband has Alzheimer’s and they give him independence. I can check on him without going outside to check which annoys him.
Luckily we haven’t had to use them for crime.
I also enjoy seeing what animals roam our yard at night.

We have a few of the Ring Doorbell 2’s (I think that’s the model we have) that we got last year cheap from Woot. They work perfectly fine for our needs since we already had Arlo systems at home and at the lake cabin for security. DH thinks it’s funny to use the prerecorded messages on the doorbells to freak out unsuspecting people (mostly DD). We might have to look into the stick up ones to keep the deer from eating all my flowers in the rain garden at the cabin. Nothing seems to deter them!
