I've missed the thread the last two days. I had to go into the office to work, and that really messes with my Peaing! It's just too fiddly to try and quote and tag on my phone. I was sitting next to my boss's boss yesterday, and we were talking about working from home. I told him that if I could find a job that pays the same and allowed me to work from home every day, instead of losing nearly three hours a day in travel time, I would be GONE in a flash. He was not amused. I hope that Linda is able to check in with photos of her trip, either here or on Facebook. The footage I am seeing on the news about Hurricane Milton, and previously Helene, is so scary. I hope everyone in its path is able to stay safe. Best of luck to you jeremysgirl with this new job opportunity. Do you need your Pea friends to write you a glowing reference, telling them how awesome you are? I'm sure that would help secure you the job! leannec I am glad you're feeling better today. I read your post about Thanksgiving, and I can understand how hurt you must have been. I would be devastated in that situation. It sucks that those we love the most can also hurt us the most. I'll never forget how hurt my mum was when I didn't think to invite her to our house for DSO's birthday dinner one time, years ago. I've never seen her so upset. So now I invite her to everything, even when I know she will be unable to make it. Lovely photos sueg! What is the weather like? It looks a bit chilly. taylortroop that's awful! It happened to me recently, but slightly different circumstances. It was such a huge PITA having to notify everyone about the change in account for direct debits. Did you lose any money? I couldn't be bothered cooking when I got home from the office yesterday, and neither could DSO after working hard (physically hard) all day. He suggested pizza. Normally I'm not excited about pizza, but there is a place that does pizza on puff pastry, and I LOVE it. I got the Chipotle Chicken, which is chicken, bacon, cheese, jalapeños, and chipotle sauce on puff pastry. It is so good!

I'll be having black bean and butternut squash tacos for dinner tonight. Jeremy will have boring tacos with meat and cheese. Hahaha... My tacos are way more exciting. I've got the black beans cooking in my little crockpot right now so they will be ready at dinner time. This sounds interesting! Please let us know how they turn out.

AussieMeg: The charges amounted to $700.00 which I have not gotten back yet but have been assured that I will. I am to call back on Monday to complete the process.

I wouldn't be able to have your toppings though because I just can't handle anything spicy in my old age! Oh, and I'm one of those weirdos that doesn't like bacon ... ducks head!

He's much younger and just much more likeable and so easy to work with. The one before...well let's just say, no personality, military chaplain, misogynistic and racist but hard to prove. Others didn't see it but we in the office did. Also, it was an absolute hellish atmosphere to work in. I stuck in because it was my church before his and I wouldn't let him win. There were breakdowns, rants, a lot of why am I still here but I survived. There was a SA that happened that he was going to do nothing about except talk to the man. The 2nd time I told him you WILL do something or my DH and police will be here tomorrow. That outburst came back on me later as I was unprofessional and blew up on him. I could write a book.

jeremysgirl, looking over the cookbook, the jury is still out. It is an America's Test Kitchen so there is a lot of "how it works" but the print is small. I'm used to Nisha's large print. It is laid out in nice sections. We will see. As I'm new, it could be helpful. The Complete Plant Based cookbook if you want to give it a look see.

taylortroop, people who steal other people's identity or scam them should serve life sentences in prison. It's pure evil and can destroy lives. Thank goodness you found it, quickly and nipped this in the bud. leannec, I'm so happy to hear that you feel better. You do have wonderful dd's. You sound a tad smitten w/your new friend. I'm thinking happy thoughts for the two of you. Incidentally, I have stayed at both the Chateau Lake Louise and Banff Springs hotels. Very wonderful trip. We stayed at Harrison Hot Springs, as well. I'm spoiled. sueg, thank you for sharing those pretty photos. Enjoy your spa treaments. AussieMeg, pizza on a puff pastry sounds truly delicious and I don't miss pizza.

naby64.. I went to the personnel committee.. people who had known me for years and years. and basically was blown off. many "older" women left when he came.. as he was horrible and his daughter told my daughter she would go to hell cause she didn't go to youth group. my dd, not a believer, spent 3-4 yrs as assistant in kid's choir faithfully every week. I had to tell the pastor's dd to leave mine alone or else. took quite a while to join another church. it is tiny but I am welcomed always..as is everyone. same denomination.
thinking of you!!

I play to stay in tonight and binge the new season of Love is Blind. It takes place in my old stomping grounds of DC so it will be fun to see if I recognize anywhere. OMG---WHAT?? I had no idea there was a new season, AND it's in my hometown? Can't wait !!! I am rewriting my cover letter or I should say, putting together a custom cover letter for this new job. I'm trying to keep my hopes in check and being all casual and cool about it. But honestly, it's the best job to come along in over a year now. I HOPE you get this new job! You deserve it !!! I can't wait for you to get away from your ineffectual boss and lazy co-worker. Honestly, I'm so used to bad news from this team that I stew for a few hours and then get on w/things. Ugh, I hated reading about your device needing adjustments again. Many (( hugs )). I'm glad you have a great team, but I'm sure the "doom and gloom" gets verrrry old. I am taking my Xanax today to not have another breakdown in public. I do thank you all for being here. And caring. Sorry for all you're going through! (( hugs )) Linda asked me to pop in here and let you know that the girls are safe and well prepared for Milton. Thank you for telling us! Talking to him last week about the challenge of maintaining healthy dog teeth, and the fact that brushing can only do so much if you can actually get it done regularly, it is flossing that needs to happen. The lightbulb went off and I'm going to task DH with inventing a flossing device and/or water pik for dogs Oh wow! The vets we've been going to for many years have never mentioned flossing !??! Since we all know dental health affects the whole body, I wish we'd known this! there is a place that does pizza on puff pastry, and I LOVE it. Yum! There was a SA that happened that he was going to do nothing about except talk to the man. The 2nd time I told him you WILL do something or my DH and police will be here tomorrow That's horrible---but what ended up happening? Did you sent the police or your DH? Is the man who SA'd someone in jail now? I have nothing to say today, so just wanted to send (( hugs )) to all who need 'em!

jeremysgirl ...speaking of the new job I HOPE you get..... With allllll the manipulative, passive-aggressive, etc. things your co-worker has done, it made me wonder- was she like that BEFORE her stroke? If she was NOT like this before, then I have more empathy for her. (in other words---is it possible she has no control over how badly she's doing her job now?) I wonder if your company hasn't fired her because of her stroke, and if it would be considered discrimination, and/or other laws I know nothing about.

I've been lurking here a bit, and I just want to tell all that are struggling that I am holding you in my warmest, safest thoughts. I wish I could come and give each of you a solid 20 second hug. jeremysgirl alerted me to the 20 second hug, and I freely give them out. I've been shocked at how receptive people are to it, and have had people ask for one more on the spot, or come back later and ask for one. They are awesome. BIG 20 SECOND HUGS FOR ALL! Malibou....you are so kind! Hope you come out of lurkdom and join in.

I'll read the thread later. We had fun at the BBQ/Golf team reunion. We had fun with our overnight guests ~ they left to go home after the BBQ.
Our good friends in Sarasota got a mandatory evacuation order and are at a hotel in West Palm Beach so I'm relieved for them.

scrappintoee no, still attending. The boss, as I refuse to call him a pastor, did call the man in to the office. I left. It was inappropriate touching and from that moment on, the man kept a wide berth from me. It was first blamed on him possibly having a stroke, I don't remember how the boss explained the second time. He was just an awful boss and pastor. If you didn't know what was going on in the office, you would have thought he was great. He retired July a year ago and the weight lifted from my shoulders was just incredible.

Oh wow! The vets we've been going to for many years have never mentioned flossing !??! Since we all know dental health affects the whole body, I wish we'd known this! Oh no, we were comparing the pups to humans and he said what we really need to do is get them to floss like people. Not that anyone does it. We were laughing at the idea anyone would have a hope of getting their pup to cooperate. Until DH's flossing/water pik contraption hits the market of course. Then vets and dog people everywhere will be using it. Since I'm back, I'll share a photo of the shrimp taco spread. We are watching the Padres/Dodgers game, hoping the Padres would take the series tonight but it is looking like a Game 5 will happen.

malibou, ((((HUGS))). Join us. We need a lot of hugs in this tribe. leannec, I don't like bacon. I'm also watching Love is Blind. How stupid can you be to do something like this? It's totally entertaining fluff. Though I just cringe when I watch Married at First Sight. I just finished season 6 of the Circle. I really enjoy that show. Total competition and the personalities make it fun. Hey, don't judge smut tv.
