Sometimes a woman just wants to enjoy her scrapbook goodies privately. lolz You would think I would be happy getting my 2 orders early but I was expecting them Monday when I am home alone. My family is actually encouraging about my scrapbooking, it's me who is embarrassed because my supplies already runneth over. Oh well, some retail therapy felt good and I am excited to see what I ordered. Just thought you may be able to relate a bit.

I've never understood, having to "hide" or "sneak" purchases of any kind in. If the budget permits it, everyone should be able to spend their fun money, discretionary funds, etc... on whatever they want, without having to explain the purchase.

Oh well, some retail therapy felt good and I am excited to see what I ordered. Just thought you may be able to relate a bit. Sooooo....yesterday when my 49 and Market order arrived, I quitely went outside, and took it to the side of the house, and opened my package and put the box and all the packing into the recycling right there. Then innocently came back inside with my items. No box. I don't have to hide my purchases, but DH (and DS too) will tease me relentlessly about having a paper stack taller than my head as well as getting a mysterious 12x12 box in the mail. If they see it they will say things like, "Oooooo...wonder what could be in a 12x12 box??" I relate for sure!

If they see it they will say things like, "Oooooo...wonder what could be in a 12x12 box??" You were just being responsible by recycling. My sister-in-law and I used to go to crop nights at the lss together and my brother would tease us and say we were in a cult and get my husband and daughter laughing. So they probably will say something silly like I had to get my scrapbook fix ordering something. But Mr. Night Owl doesn't actually complain about my purchases, he golfs so he understands spending money on a hobby and he's the type if it makes me happy then he is happy.

I boldly carried both my 49 and DD boxes in as my husband was opening his own delivery boxes. I said, Well, well, well…and we both started cracking up.

Night Owl - I totally get it. I love getting my stuff but I can feel self conscious about the big deliveries at times even though I have all of the support in the world for it. It just feels conspicuous to me.

I can definitely relate!
My DH encourages me. He denies me nothing. But sometimes I feel guilty, anyway.

I cluster-shop too, so it feels like I get 3 big boxes in a row, but my DH is 100% supportive/encouraging. He has a collection/game hobby that also means he shops regularly for himself, but they are small and hideable...but equally expensive. So I think that's why he encourages me The worst is customs: I tend to shop online from the US, and 50% of the time we have to pay the tax before picking the box up at the local post-office. DH usually does it for me while I'm at work, and thus he knows exactly what is going on.

I like to get my packages off the porch, make some tea, and have a little party while I open scrap stuff. That is greatly hampered by my DH getting alerts that anything has been left on the porch the instant it lands there, or asking if I ordered something because he got a notification as soon as it ships, or just being in the vicinity when I open my treasure...
He actually orders more crap than I do (board games and fishing stuff) so I don't know why I feel guilty when he asks what is in the mail.

One thing I love about digital scrapping - well, two things actually - nobody can ever see when I've bought something, and nobody can see my already enormous stash growing bigger!

Night Owl , My DH called it a cult, too! My DD sent me a photo from her Ring doorbell of both the Amazon driver and UPS driver delivering to her doorstep at the same time. She asked me if I thought she had a problem? I wonder how often that happens. Often, I bet!

He doesn't mind, he says it makes him happy when I buy stuff for myself, but I still hate it. I always try to downplay it by saying "it was on sale" or "it was almost sold out" or whatever, I have no idea why. My husband does it, too, when he orders vinyl records or band T-shirts or whatever he's currently into. Finally, the last time it happened, I said "let's not explain ourselves anymore. Next time one of us gets a package let's just receive it without guilt or explanation". It's worked ever since, no explaining, less guilt!

I ordered a large order of lots of items last week from Amazon. A lot of it was 49 and Market, but also a tumbler, sheets, backpack, travel stuff, bird food, camera stuff... They decided to send the stuff all week. All week I tell you. I tried to combine orders, but it was coming from all over the place. Every day a box would come and I would grab it since I am the official mail collector. I snagged them all. Today there was a box on the porch and I was like, "Damn! I missed one!" My husband and I were pulling out of the garage and he said to wait and grabbed it. He'd ordered some breakfast bars and was incredulous that they arrived this am since he had just ordered them yesterday afternoon. He said they were much cheaper online and it was so convenient that they were delivered. Yes, yes you are correct. I just smiled.
ETA: I love it when USPS decides to deliver a smaller package in the mailbox. It is like a freebie!
