Just got the newest one on Friday, felt like I had the flu all night, and all day Saturday, still feeling really crummy today.
My lymph nodes on my left side (the side/arm I got the shot in) are all swollen, tender, and painful. Neck, armpit, groin lymph nodes.
I have had a fever of 102 on and off since Friday night (consistently all day Saturday).
Sharp headache, causing nausea.
Whole body super achy.
Every covid vaccine comes with worse side effects for me. I'll still get them, but man, I sure wish I didn't feel like crap after them.
Anyone else have negative reactions?

Which vaccine did you get? I had the updated Pfizer one and my only issue was a sore arm, just like all the others. I had a flu shot in the other arm the same day. Sorry you feel so lousy! I’m not looking forward to getting my second shingles shot, I hear that one’s a doozy.

That sounds no fun at all. Sorry it hit you like that. I haven’t had any post-vaccine symptoms except a little tenderness in my arm.

I’m not looking forward to getting my second shingles shot, I hear that one’s a doozy. I got my flu shot and Covid shot on the same day with no issues other than a sore arm. Same thing with the second shingles shot. I didn't have any problems so hopefully it will be the same for you. |

I got both vaccines (flu and COVID) on the same day and the only issue was being sore at the vax site for a few days. My COVID vax was the Pfizer.
I'm sorry you're feeling bad. I know people who have sworn off getting any new vaxes because of the after sickeness.

That is how I was after every vaccine except for the last. 3 Pfizer then the rest Moderna. I unfortunately had an allergic reaction to Pfizer on shot 3 and then possible one to shot 3 of moderna. The flu shot I got last week caused diarrhea and body aches. I think my body is over vaccines. |

I actually had to have scans and an u/s on my left arm because the lymph nodes (2 of them) hadn't gone down after 2 months. Then I had to repeat everything again as it was over 3 months and they were still there. It took 4 months for them to go away then I had repeat tests to make sure they were indeed back to normal. I also had specific labs done

I expect I'll get Pfizer, as that's the most common one here in Germany. I expected the worst after everything I'd heard when I had my second shingles shot - even told the after school group I sub for that I wouldn't be available that day - and it was no problem except for a sore arm. |

I just got Covid and Flu vaccines and was maybe a bit tired and definitely had a sore arm. This was the first Covid vaccine that hasn’t made me sore all over like I was sick.

I received the Pfizer shot and felt cruddy for a few days after. I did not run a fever, but I had whole body aches and a general feeling of being unwell. Also, my arm took a good 5 days to feel better. My injection site got red, warm & hard to the touch, and really painful, with the red circle growing in size a few days before it started to shrink again. Apparently that's a very common side effect, but it was the first time I personally have experienced it. I did feel sick twice before with the COVID shots/boosters also. As you said, LavenderLayoutLady, I will certainly keep getting the shots, but I don't love the few days afterwards. |

I got the flu shot on the same day.
My covid booster was Moderna.
The arm with the flu shot ached.
I had low grade fever that night. Felt bad the next day and then it was over.

I had reactions like that to my first 3 or so Covid shots. this time I had the new Pfizer and not even a sore arm.

Ive only had mild reactions to the previous Covid (Moderna) vaccines. Getting the newest one soon. I'm sorry you had such a tough reaction. I wonder if you have an allergy of some kind?

We got the flu and covid (pfizer) vaccines on the same day. We always clear our schedules for 36 hours after Covid vaccines. Dh get full body aches and generally feels unwell. The past 2 years, I have just had a sore arm and have been a little tired- this year, I asked which was which- the flu vaccine hurt going in and if I recall correctly, that is the one that really welted up.

I don’t have time to be down for any length of time at all. I’m planning on doing my shingles vax over Christmas break. I’m done with Covid vaccines. I won’t get any more. I had the original 3 Is it the first shingles shot or just the second?

I haven't gotten the newest covid shot yet, but dd (19) did (I am guessing Pfizer since our HMO seems to use that one) and had a headache, DH had a headache and a fever.

We just got ours on Friday. We both had slightly sore arms into Saturday am but no other issues. The nurse at the health department always advises drinking lots of water on the day of the vaccine. I've always done that and had no issues. DH did not the first couple of years and had the flu like experience. Since drinking more liquids on vaccine day, he has had no serious issues.
This year we had Comimaty which is by Pfizer and BioNTech.

I'm sorry you have a such an awful reaction.
Like others, I had both Covid and flu vaccines on the same day 2 weeks ago and my only reaction was a tender spot at the injection site for about a week.
FWIW, this has been my only reaction to any vaccine and I had Covid twice. January 2021 (pre-vaccines) we were very sick and January 2023 I just had cold like symptoms.

I got the new Moderna and didn't feel any side effects at all. My dh just got his yesterday and also feels nothing. I think it's totally random about who gets side effects. I'm sorry yours wasn't as easy as dh's and mine.  |

I hope it's almost over for you. I think it mostly is. Fever stopped around two this afternoon. I feel a little cruddy, but not so bad that I couldn't clean out the fridge, do multiple loads of laundry, rake, cook dinner, and vacuum the downstairs. All the soreness is still there, arm and lymph nodes, but I don't feel as bad. The nurse at the health department always advises drinking lots of water on the day of the vaccine. That's good advice. I do drink lots of water everyday. |

I haven't gotten the new one, but every single shot has made me really sick, similar to your symptoms. But funny it doesn't linger like the real deal. Once it was over it was over. Took me about 24 hours and then I was fine.

I got my Covid and flu on Monday at 2:30. I typically get a little sick 24 to 48 hours after my Covid vax. A little nauseous, headache, sore arm and just crappy. Typically it a last half a day or so.
This time, almost exactly 12 hours after (2:40 am) I was sick. By afternoon the next day I was feeling better, not great but better. I had Moderna this time and last time, every other time I have had Pfizer. I have had a reaction with all of them.
Conversely, my brother typically always gets a fever, headache, chills and just feels over all bad when he gets his. It usually is anywhere up to 24 hours later. This time he is at 28 hours and just has a sore arm and is tired. So he is hoping he dodged a bullet.
Reactions seem to be all over the place, it just depends on your body and immune system I guess.

I get mine through my job which is a hospital/health network. Unfortunately they won’t allow us to get them in the same arm because if there is a reaction they want to know which one caused it. I had nothing with my flu arm. My. Covid arm was quite sore. My father got both of his in the same arm. He asked whoever was giving it to him what was the difference, and she said do you want two sore arms or one. 😆. He decided on one, but his arm was really sore, much worse than it typically is. So he said he would not do that again. 😄. He typically doesn’t have a reaction to the Covid other than tired and maybe a little bit of a sore arm. |

I got the flu vax and the Moderna last Tuesday around 2:30. My right arm, the flu vaccine, got sore first, within a couple hours, and then the left arm with the COVID vax got sore and by the evening it was pretty painful. My left arm was worse than the right all day Tuesday, but by evening it was not feeling as sore. Flu vax arm was less sore all day. The pain was there in a lingering way for a few more days, but actually not as bad as it usually is. I felt like the COVID shot was really sore for less time than in the past.

BUT the first didn't do anything to me either. I did the Tylenol thing then too. Also, drink LOTS of water. |

I planned the same- I got it my first day of summer break planning on feeling like ass- NOTHING! I was like- Really? I planned the second dose exactly 2 months later because I was going to back to school right after that and figured I'd feel like crap the weekend before PD days started. Again- NOTHING. Pleasantly surprised. I react BAD to the COVID vaccines and feel like I have COVID for like 3 days so I don't get those anymore. Hopefully you'll be good to go with the shingrix ones. I drank LOTS of water in the days before and after each and took Tylenol once I got back to the car with both. I also walked out doing the "chicken wing" and made sure to stretch the arm. |

My husband and I had no ill effects from our Covid shots other than sore arms. We got flu shots the same day. My 21 year old daughter felt very sick the day after she got hers - feverish, body aches, really tired. She has felt that way after every Covid shot.
