When all the issues started happening I thought I bricked my cameo. But once I reset it to a prior version it worked fine.
Now I am having an issue seeing my free files from Club Silhouette so I reached out to support.
First recommendation is to update the software. I am on 4.5.770 ssde
What versions are you using successfully? I have a cameo 3.
Thanks!

I'm using 4.4.945ssde from 2022. I've been thinking of upgrading, but I don't want to mess things up, since it's all working correctly. I'm using a Portrait 3. The current version is 4.5.815 dated Oct 21 2024. LINKYou can check/update the firmware for your machine. It may need to be update to work with the updated software.

I’m using an older version. Not super old, but older. I’m not at my computer right now to check. I have been working offline ever since their website change. My software wouldn’t update, and I didn’t trust their newer versions. Since I had to add each design individually, anyway (they don’t download and install automatically from their site anymore), I didn’t see the need to update my software.
By the way, even the “older version” of the software is too new to handle some of the really, really old designs. The really old designs that are still on their site appear to be a file that worked with the Wishblade and the older Silhouette machines. The new software isn’t compatible with the older designs. I found out when I bought a few older designs that would have been perfect for a swap I was doing. They won’t open in the software. A waste of credits.

One thing that I forgot to mention, every time I have contacted Silhouette, they always recommend that you update your software. Always. However, you absolutely need to back up your library to your own computer before updating. How do I know? With one update, I lost all of my files, and I had literally thousands due to having had a subscription that let me download $150 in files every month. For years. Back then, they had a chat and/or phone support, and they did help me get back my Silhouette purchased files, but not my own designs, and not designs that were non-Silhouette files. Fortunately, I had backed up most of those to my hard drive. Key word is most. I did lose at least a few. Lesson learned.
I know they supposedly have all your files on the Cloud, but during the changes earlier this year, files weren’t accessible from the Cloud for awhile. I disconnected my software from the internet. I went offline. I didn’t lose a single file, and I had access to all of them. I kept using my library all through that.
If you do decide to update, just back up everything to your own computer or to your own external hard drive first.

I have a ton of super old designs and I’ll be bummed if I can’t use them anymore
