My DH bought me the Cricut Explore for Christmas and it's been love at first sight. For some reason I could never really get the hang of my Silhouette SD. Cuts didn't complete, circles were always crooked, I could never get the pressure right, paper curled whenever I tried to remove it from the mat...all user error, no doubt, but it really soured my experience and my desire to learn to use the machine.
By contrast, I had the Cricut out of its box and set up with the first cut made (and successfully removed from the mat!) within ten minutes. I've made several Christmas cut outs and ornaments (hey, you need to test it out somehow) and tonight I pulled together my first card using an imported SVG file. I love the way Cricut's Design Space works and the "Make it Now" feature is great for testing things out without having to worry about getting the sizes correct.
I think this might be true love...!
