Inspired by recent holiday reveals/releases: If you have to choose only one, do you prefer gold or silver in holiday collections? TIA.

I prefer silver. Not really a fan of gold.
I love red and silver and blue and silver together.

Silver. I find gold has too many variations. I know that probably sounds weird. And in general, maybe as a result of those variations in gold, I find I Like silver with everything, whereas I don't love gold with all colours.

Gold all the way. I love the warmth of gold paired with my Christmas season photos.

silver primarily - unless we're talking a predominantly red collection, then gold

Gold because it warmer and feels more festive. Silver is cold- I would like it with snow photos.

Il'll be the outlier saying bronze. 🤪 Recently flipped through a December Daily project in which I'd used bronze foil and it feels so festive, so cosy.

I didn't vote PaperAngel. It depends on the shade of the gold and the other colors that are used in the collection. Sometimes silver looks just right with a collection so I can't make an intelligent choice.

I voted for gold!
But I LOVE blue and silver holiday color combinations, too.

I like both, Silver & Gold from Rudolph is a fav song. I've used each at different times in decorating. This year I am going for more greenery and white and will accent with silver. I did gold a couple years while it was trendy and ready for a change.

I really dislike gold foil so I prefer silver but would also prefer black foil, red foil, blue foil, green foil.. or just No Foil. I wish manufacturers didn't think of it like gold or silver only. Just because I don't like gold doesn't automatically mean I want or expect silver. It means I want "not gold" - which can also mean other colors or no metallic foil. Some colors do not go with silver and other colors do not go with gold. Like when AE tried to use silver in their beach kit for "the people who like silver". That's an example where No Foil is the preferred choice because silver does not look good with that palette of colors/that vibe. Another example is using gold with those cool toned colors in last year's OLW kit - bleh. Just use white ink and no foil! Gold does Not work with every color, it just ruins the product. Related- it feels like there is gold on everything released at Ali Edwards lately every product category has gold on it these days. I have bought very little from their physical releases this year because of this. I miss when black or white was the chosen neutral on things like word strips, tab stickers, transparencies or journal cards - they were a lot more versatile. It's almost like they decided to use yellow on every item. Or glitter on every item. Like imagine if every item in your home decor had some metallic foil on it? It would be so unbalanced. I really hope they back off to using foil like an accent again, e.g. adding to 10% of items or less.

And in general, maybe as a result of those variations in gold, I find I Like silver with everything, whereas I don't love gold with all colours. I totally agree! I love some golds, but others are too orange or yellow. Pale or champagne gold are lovely. I prefer a mix of silver and some gold. I generally will purchase silver items, but am very picky about the gold items I purchase.

I loved the year Ali had the black and bronze album and bronze accents. Just love that it was different. I would love to see years that are bronze or platinum gold just to mix things up!

Definitely silver, because it works better with the summery colours I prefer to use for Christmas layouts.
If I liked the traditional Christmas colours of red and green, I would probably prefer gold.

But I do appreciate the simplicity of her offerings, so I get your frustration if everything being released these days has a foil component. And I especially agree with your point that everything does not need foil. A lot of what I'm scrapping is old sailing photos, hiking photos and my husband's mountain biking photos. The badass mountain bikers my husband rides with just do not want to see gold foil, silver foil or any foil decorating the pages I make about their races / trips / trail days. I do love the look of foil, but I buy very little of it, because it just doesn't fit well with most of the projects I make.

I prefer silver, but/and I am scrapping Hanukkah; I love dark blue/navy and silver as a combo.

Both. I don't typically mix them in the same layout but I have both silver and gold all throughout my albums.

Christmas is one of the few contexts where I often prefer gold, assuming it’s a traditional red green color scheme. But I like silver in general, and like others would be happy to see other metallic colors too, or no foil at all.

I prefer gold, for Christmas and jewelry and all sorts of things. My husband loves silver and always wants me to put silver in my Christmas cards, it's a real problem in our marriage, haha.

I didn't select an answer because I like (and use!) both in my holiday crafting. Gold seems to be more prevalent than silver, but I don't mind mixing the two on a layout or in my December Daily album.

I prefer gold, but not the bright colored gold. I'm picky about my gold, lol. But I also love bronze.
