... But I LOVE blue and silver holiday color combinations, too. ... I love dark blue/navy and silver as a combo. Same; it's a beautiful color pair!

I didn't vote because it really depends on the collection for me. Christmas 2022 I used primarily Vicki Boutin and there was a lot of black. And gold felt just right with it. And I wouldn't have thought so, but it was true for me.

I really dislike gold foil so I prefer silver but would also prefer black foil, red foil, blue foil, green foil.. or just No Foil. I wish manufacturers didn't think of it like gold or silver only. Just because I don't like gold doesn't automatically mean I want or expect silver. It means I want "not gold" - which can also mean other colors or no metallic foil. Some colors do not go with silver and other colors do not go with gold. Like when AE tried to use silver in their beach kit for "the people who like silver". That's an example where No Foil is the preferred choice because silver does not look good with that palette of colors/that vibe. Another example is using gold with those cool toned colors in last year's OLW kit - bleh. Just use white ink and no foil! Gold does Not work with every color, it just ruins the product. Related- it feels like there is gold on everything released at Ali Edwards lately every product category has gold on it these days. I have bought very little from their physical releases this year because of this. I miss when black or white was the chosen neutral on things like word strips, tab stickers, transparencies or journal cards - they were a lot more versatile. It's almost like they decided to use yellow on every item. Or glitter on every item. Like imagine if every item in your home decor had some metallic foil on it? It would be so unbalanced. I really hope they back off to using foil like an accent again, e.g. adding to 10% of items or less. While I'm not/never been an AE customer, I also prefer metallics used sparingly or not at all!

I usually prefer gold but if I’m using blues I’ll go with silver. Is blue the only color (in general, not just holiday palettes) that you prefer with silver?

Only for holiday since I tend to stick with the classic colors red and green. Otherwise I’ll use silver with white, black, pink, or maybe purple.

Thanks for your participation in the poll & responses. I'm among the minority who prefers silver to gold in holiday collections, although I don't use metallics often (perhaps due to the pervasiveness of gold/lack of silver supplies available).

I like both silver and gold. It depends on the page and what I am pairing it with. For traditional red and green layouts, usually gold. If the layout is more whimsical or in a different colour scheme (which they often are) maybe silver or another metallic. I like silver with my winter photos.

Definitely more of a gold person than silver.
