Hi peas!
I recently moved my scrap room from my garage (with fluorescent lighting) into my DD's old bedroom (empty nesting rocks!) I love my new space but I am struggling with the lighting, especially in the evening. I have a couple of OTT lights but I think I also want/need to update the overhead lighting.
Have you had any luck changing out the light bulbs in a light fixture to daylight bulbs? Is there a particular light fixture you have had good luck with?
Thanks for your help!

I have daylight bulbs in the ceiling fan in my craft room. That's the ONLY place in the house that I like daylight bulbs.

I purchased an "architect" lamp (lots on amazon for examples) to clamp onto my desk but provide light from "overhead" because my old space had no overhead fixtures. It's wonderful - a game changer for me. Even tho my new space features nice overhead LED lights spaced around the room, my architect lamp is still the best lighting!

Yes to both of the above suggestions. Several years ago I posted a link for the desk lamp my engineer DH got me. I can't find the link now but it was from Amazon and I want to say around $50-60 maybe more. It is an ott light on steroids. It is super wide which is so nice, can be dimmed and can change the light warmth. Definitely find an architect light and chance to daylight bulbs!

I put daylight LED bulbs in the ceiling of my craft room. Best thing ever! Eliminated the need for extra ott lights. I still use one on my desk.

AHA! That's the name I was looking for - that was what drew me into the world of "architect lamps" - I could NOT afford the Phive, but honestly, my knock-off version works really well and you can change both the warmth settings and the brightness.

My island where I scrap is directly under the room ceiling fixture. It had one of the typical saucer type fixtures with 3 60 watt bulbs. I had it replaced with an island straight chandelier that has 4 100 watt bulbs that point down. That made a huge difference.

I originally did daylight bulbs in my old room but updated overhead fixture in my new room to a fluorescent that I can change the temperature of the lighting with a remote and the brightness in addition to my OTT lamps.

My scrap room in our new house has recessed lighting with daylight type bulbs - much brighter than my old room with only one [not-very-bright] overhead. I was using 2 architect lights that clamped onto my work table in the old room, and this room has so much brighter lighting that I may need to only use one of them now. (Mine are also a knock-off brand, not phive.) I'll save the other for use by my sewing machine.
I am still in the process of setting up my new scrap room so time will tell, but so far I think the one architect clamp light will be all I'll need. It has a brightness setting and can switch to different warmth modes - I typically use the daylight mode.
