Anyone else counting down the days till the film is out ,
I have seen the show 3 times and will be seeing it again next year & was over the moon when it was announced that there would be a film version ( am a total OZ geek ).
I am really hoping that as the film is in two parts that they don't leave a big gap between the two films as that would be annoying as heck .

ME!!! I was listening to the Broadway soundtrack this morning. I couldn't get my eye makeup done due to listening to Defying Gravity. DD and I went to see it and I think she has seen it again on stage. I think we are going together. I also got the Lego set of Welcome to Emerald City. I have put Elphaba together. I haven't started working on the rest yet.

SO excited for this! I saw the play in Las Vegas years ago and loved every minute of it. We were able to get advance screening tickets for Nov. 18th through Amazon Prime/Fandango. I hope it’s every bit as good as the play.

My choir leader has booked a cinema screen for us all to go and see it together. There were 80 of us at the last count, and we'll be able to sing with abandon! 😁 She’s also doing a Wicked workshop in early January for any of us who want to learn more. (Open to the public too Zippy! 😉)

I'm looking forward to it. I have never seen the stage production but have wanted to. DD and I are planning on seeing it when she is home for Thanksgiving break.

Thanks for the post as I was totally clueless - I've seen it twice - it's such a great show!

My (34YO) son saw an early preview about a month ago. To be clear, he sees a LOT of film, TV, and stage for his work, so his opinion can be a bit jaded. He was so blown away that he texted me about it as he left the theater. ETA: to be clear, he is very "whatever" about the show on Broadway. Though he loved it when he was 15.
I am VERY excited for this.

I have never seen the play, but hated the book. I am curious, but also as a true Frank L. Baum fan not sure what I will think.

I am always concerned when they do this with beloved musicals, but I read some great reviews from previews and am definitely heck yes, excited!

I am very excited. I have seen it multiple times, as have 3 of my kids, but I told my entire family that we are seeing it on my birthday this year. We’ve had our tickets for a month now.
My husband and remaining child are less than thrilled, but they are all being good sports about it. 💚💚💚

DD bought tickets for us to go together opening weekend. She knows I love all things Oz, and i was definitely touched that she planned ahead with this invite for a girls night. So looking forward to it!

I believe Wicked 2 is set to come out in a year (Nov 2025). So not too much of a gap.
I'm excited! I can't wait to see it. My DD, niece, and I are going on the 23rd.

I really didn't know what Wicked was all about, so I googled it. The story line sounds fun! However, I'm not into musicals and the Target commercial confirms I would not enjoy the show. That ad drives me up the wall like the fingernals scraping on a chalkborad.

Love Wicked! Some of my family even saw it when Kristin Chenowith and Idina Menzel were on Broadway. We have seen it multiple times when it has come through our state. The soundtrack is amazing and really special to us as my late sister loved it. For Good is one of the best songs ever!

For Good is one of the best songs ever! I told my brother years ago that when I die, I want my 7 siblings to sing this song at my funeral. He told me probably not, but they could sing “No One Mourns the Wicked” instead. 😂😂

I'm already disappointed that I won't see my favorite part of the movie since it's in two parts. I'm undecided as to whether or not I want to see it on the big screen. It's my fave Broadway musical, and I want to take DD2, but I am worried she won't be blown away if she doesn't get to see the entire musical at once.

DH and I rarely go to the theater anymore but we’ll get tickets for this ASAP 😊.
