I wanted a sublimation printer and got a Sawgrass SG500 about a year ago. It’s only about as big as a regular desktop printer. While I really LOVE the idea of it, like the fact that setup and using it is easy without a lot of fiddling around with printer profiles, etc. and the fact that I get flawless prints from it, I really haven’t used it enough to justify the expense. The printer itself was about $600 and I’ve already spent another $600 on ink for it even though I’ve barely used it (it runs a self cleaning program every so often to keep the print heads clean which just burns up the expensive ink without producing anything). I even bought a cheap convection oven to do mugs and other stuff and haven’t even tried that because the blanks are so expensive I can’t justify buying stuff just to test things out only to have them get screwed up. At this point I kind of regret the purchase because I just don’t use it enough. I make a lot of shirts and other projects with HTV but that’s so much easier because you can put it on any type of fabric. Sublimation only works great on polyester which DH and DD don’t prefer, plus those shirts are twice as expensive and harder to find good quality ones that feel nice. I bought an Epson eco tank and converted it to a sublimation only printer (by putting sublimation ink in it). It was about $200 not including ink. My problem is the mugs I made everyone are starting to wear, after eight months of use, and all in the same way. I think I need a new mug source... After several very unfortunate episodes with previous Epson printers, I have sworn them off for life. Never, ever again will I own one. And their customer service sucks. I’m not sorry I bought the Sawgrass, I just wish I used it more than I do. FWIW, I pressed some random lamination film onto white permanent vinyl and subbed on that to make some permanent stickers for our paddle boat. It has sat outside in the sun, rain and snow for over a year and is only now starting to fade. I’m pretty impressed that they lasted that long under those conditions. I made a similar sticker for my car that has been on the same length of time but it’s parked in a garage and it still looks as bright and pretty as the day I put it on.

That’s good feedback, thank you. I’m sorry you’re not loving it but knowing that helps me feel better about not buying it! The Sawgrass is a really nice printer and mine worked perfectly right out of the box. I avoided getting an Epson because even though it and the third party inks are much cheaper a LOT of the people in the sublimation groups online have had trouble getting the print profiles right for sublimation ink. Plus, after several bad run ins with Epson in the past I’ve sworn off ever buying another one again, so there’s that. I think if you’re not going to literally use it every single week, it just doesn’t pay for itself like I thought it would. Quite honestly, I wish the white toner DTF printers weren’t so expensive! I probably would use one of those ALL the time because you can press those designs on any type of fabric, and on any color. Oh a dtf printer would be a dream!!!

Not practical, but more "wishy": A long-weekend spa vacation. Yoga and massages every day. A facial. Meditation. Delicious good-for-you food. I’m with you sister! Yoga and a massage every day would be so indulgent! I took today off - first up is barre this morning. A new treat I do about once a month now is a blow out….

The Costco set is like 32 pieces and has lots of pink in it... which is my favorite color! Doesn't really match my kitchen but that is okay.. it will live inside the cabinets anyways. I am hoping to pick it up this weekend. Fingers crossed. I have an irrational desire for that set of Tupperware too even though I have no use for it and no space for it. Woot.com had a similar set of the pastel containers at a very reasonable price and it took everything in me not to order it. I totally get it.... I still WANT them... I will look at the woot.com (never heard of it and see what they have)

An item from my Amazon list that has been on there for well over a year just came in today. It is a 6' x 30" electric adjustable height desk. When the new craft room is ready - probably next week - it goes right in the middle. I can't wait! I would love one of those! Can I ask how big and heavy was the packaging? Not the poster, but I had one sent to my home from work (so an okay/heavy duty one that is also 6’ by 30” and electric adjustable and mine came on a pallet and it was heavy. I was able to get inside my door but it was just kind of twisting it, lifting it up over the thresh and then just pushing it in. I know someone who got one and was in an upstairs Apartment. She had to unpack it and bring things in and up piece meal.

My current want is from a stupid Facebook ad. It's a photo scanner and it looks really cool. I think it's Epson. Not even sure about that. I have my photos and my mom's so it would be great to have. The ad is Shaq and his mom. Would he lie to me? But it says it's on sale for the lowest price ever so I pulled it up. Yeah, it's on sale for $499. That seemed a little steep to me so I will dream on.

I will look at the woot.com (never heard of it and see what they have) Woot is like the bargain basement of Amazon, and going there is like totally going down a rabbit hole, LOL. Pretty sure they don’t still have them, their inventory changes almost constantly and I saw them a while ago. If your Costco still has them I’d pick them up there. I still see the 32 piece set online at Costco.com but they will cost more having them shipped to you vs. picking them up yourself in store.

I have had my Epson V-600 photo scanner for years. It works beautifully. It's not cheap, but I have used it a lot. I haven't tried scanning slides yet. It's on my to-do list, since my parents moved to a care facility. My dad would not let me take the slides before that.

I have heard Indonesia is fabulous for diving but had not heard of Lembeh. darcy...Lembeh is very different than most of the diving in Indonesia. It is known as a muck diving capital...so you don't go there if your goal is to see big things like mantas and sharks. But muck diving, while it sounds gross and boring, is anything BUT! So many little critters: nudibranchs, shrimps, octopuses, pipefish, squid, frogfishes the size of your baby fingernail or as big as a plate...it's like a treasure hunt on every dive! I actually want to book this trip for myself; the Passport to Paradise. Have a look! Murex Passport to Paradise

But this one is just a small scanner that does photos. You just feed them through and supposedly it's very fast. But for $499 (on sale- normally it's $599) I'll be sticking with the V-600. I haven't done slides yet either.

An air fryer, never had one, not sure what to actually look for. Need for ease of cooking. I prefer the kind with trays over the kind with a basket (mine has both options and after trying the basket a couple of times, I only ever use the trays) May I ask why? I am going to replace mine soon, like within a couple of weeks. Bought a new one last year after our original died and we hate it! It's supposed to be a combo AF/toaster and it doesn't do either one well. It has a door you have to open and then a basket you have to pull out with a potholder because it's hot, or you have to switch it out and put in the toasting rack, meaning something is always on the counter. I was looking at one at Sam's Club with the basket with the handle on the outside and going back to a regular toaster. But I would love to hear opinions on the kind you have with a tray!

you do have to use a potholder on the trays. I feel like they hold more (mine has 2 trays with the option to purchase a 3rd) . I didn't like that some things (tator tots) seemed to fall apart in the basket. But mainly the trays seem to work better for the things I use the air fyer for - cooking sausages, hotdogs, chicken tenders, onion rings and reheating leftovers - especially pizza, fried fish, and quesadillas

We use ours for reheating the same foods as you and also for cooking frozen stuff. I think my teen son would starve if we didn't have an airfryer, LOL

We will replace the area rug in the family room in about 6 months. We are waiting as we recently got a new puppy, so we are waiting a bit til some of the puppy behaviors are more settled (but super happy he was so easily potty trained--YAY!).

There are two quilting kits I want from Fat Quarters Shop and I haven’t sat down to quilt in 6 weeks. I think I have to do math for it and it’s too difficult. That doesn’t stop me from wanting them.

I couldn't even find a search button.. is that right??

I prefer the kind with trays over the kind with a basket (mine has both options and after trying the basket a couple of times, I only ever use the trays) Are they easier to clean? Alternative opinion just to confuse you. I don’t like the tray ones, I have mine away and went back to a drawer. I find the drawer style so much easier to clean.
