Any peas have and love or hate furniture from La-z-Boy? We are looking at a sectional (Collins) and two leather recliners (Scarlett).

We have 2 recliners and a sofa that is also a recliner. Our kitchen table is as well. It’s all comfortable for a couple of hours. My dad’s chair is electric and I am not sure he would get another one.

I have a cloth manual recliner. LOVE IT!
If you know the model and color name of what you want to buy, see if Wayfair has it. I saved $500+ and got free shipping.

We just replaced our Lazy Boy sectional of 20 years with a new Collins sectional this summer. The original one saw heavy use as it was/is the center of family gathering. The seat cushions were beginning to show real wear and they were getting flat in spots. It had shaped cushions that couldn’t be continually rotated. I think 20 years for a heavily used sectional is a good run.
The Collins seat cushions are all square except for the chaise, so they should stay more even. We did a high end fabric again, so I expect it will last a long time. We also opted for a matching ottoman to create a second chaise or flexible seating. We love the new sectional!
We don’t like recliners, so I have no experience with them. We did purchase a coffee table with our original sectional. It was expensive in comparison to other options and didn’t hold up as well as expected for the price. The finish wore quickly and the drawer rail split within a few years of purchase.

@bssnyder that’s great news. Did you opt for their extended warranty?

@bsnyder that’s great news. Did you opt for their extended warranty? Nope. We never go for the extended warranty. As recliners go, that’s not a bad one. ☺️

My mother has had her Lazy Boy sofa and recliner for years. Very well made. She also has another recliner in her bedroom tht doesn't get as much use, but seems to be very stury. All are comfortable to sit in/on.

As recliners go, that’s not a bad one. ☺️ We also looked deeply into the Love Sac sactional, but the LB was about 1/3 less expensive (still pricy)and we knew we liked how well it held up. So back to LB we went.

Love our Lazy boys!
We inherited green leather recliners from MIL and FIL 20 years ago. They were used a few years before by them. We used them until they were worn thru and then passed them on to someone who put them in their garage. Replaced them with a Barca lounger love seat recliner 2 years ago. Used the Barca until it fell apart (lesser quality for sure!) and my oldest moved it to her room- really should have gone to the dump. We found a lazy boy love seat in the exact same green leather at a yard sale ($75) over the summer and it’s now in use. Love it! I’d buy another in a heartbeat.

I have a cloth manual recliner. LOVE IT! I have two. The Raleigh model and the Charlotte. One of those has been discontinued but they are the same except the legs. One is now 13 years old. I just cleaned the upholstery and plan to use it a couple of more years before reupholstering. The other is 3 years old and DH and I both love them.

We have their leather recliners, love seat, table/chairs, buffet, end tables, counter chairs, desk, file cabinets. We love them. I love the style of what we purchased.
We had previously had their leather recliners for 22 years. We are very happy with them.
Our main area of living is Lazy Boy!

We have 2 leather recliners, and 2 full size leather sofas. They are going on at least 10 years old and still look new. We love LaZBoy furniture. It is worth the cost! We have had fabric recliners from them in the past and those have lasted forever too!

I guess I am the lone voice of dissent. I bought a sofa and loveseat 2 years ago, that I am still paying off. It is supposed to be leather and there is already some decent issues with the "leather" that shouldn't be happening if it is truly is leather. The mechanics of it are good and it is comfortable though.

We have two of their recliners with legs, similar to the one you posted, but ours has the tufted buttons on the back. We have their super stain resistant fabric and they have held up very well. I think they're about 6 years old and get daily use from DH and me, no roughhousing kids or anything.
We also purchased the Laurel sofa and I'm not as happy with that. It only gets use when we have guests and the back cushions sag down whenever anyone sits on it. I am able to pull them up and fluff them back into shape, but I wish they were made from a sturdier foam so I wouldn't need to do so. Fabric is their regular stock variety and it is in great shape.

We were sold on a set (not La-z-Boy), promised it was just as good or even better than full hide leather. WRONG. It's basically made from ground up leather scraps glued to a fabric backing. It flaked horribly after a few years. DS needed something for college, so I tried painting glue on it to hold it together. That worked for a few weeks. He ended up covering it with duct tape and blankets!

We love our La-Z-Boy furniture! We had some for years and I (stupidly) got bored with it and replaced it with some other (cheaper) brand and I hated the new stuff. Last year we went back to La-Z-Boy and bought a new sofa and two recliners. So much happier now and it looks great and is good quality and very comfortable.

I had a Lazy Boy sectional for 20 years and mostly loved it. For the last couple of years, the back cushions were really deflated, but I had a dog constantly lay on top of them. Although it didn’t officially have slip covers, the covers did zip off the cushions and I washed them frequently, and they always looked nice after.

Our first LB recliner lasted almost 20 years. It had all metal parts, and was real leather.

DH likes a big puffy recliner so we ordered a new Morrison power rocker recliner. I rarely recline so I ordered one for me that has the wooden handle to recline. The handle is so hard to pull I cannot recline if I want to. I regret not spending the extra $$$ to get the power version for myself. But don't tell DH I said that:).

This is the recliner…it’s very un-recliner-y. I'm a big fan of smaller profile recliners, but FWIW, make sure everyone that will use the recline function is comfortable in the chair. DD and I have short legs and there is something about where our legs hits the gap between the seat cushion and the leg/foot rest that can be very uncomfortable for us. Sticking a lumbar pillow in that space does help.

We put them in our fan cave with WVU seat covers on them so you can’t see the flaking. But yes, it was disappointing that it happened.

I’ll be sure to keep a close eye on our recliner was as the warranty comes up. We also paid for them with our Amex which doubles the manufacturer warranty. We didn’t opt for the extended warranty. Too many negative reviews. Dh read thru the terms and said he didn’t feel it was worth it.

Have had a few LB leather reclining sofas, all vert comfortable. The first one from about 35 years ago was good and solid, lasted a long time.
The newer ones from about 8 years ago are definitely not as well made. One recliner mechanism broke, of course out of warranty. Also, the finish on the leather has worn off and the seams in some areas have given out. Have two sofas and they are both deteriorating at the same rate. Will be replacing in the near future with another brand.

We got a couch and two armchairs about 25 years ago that are still alive and kicking in the condo we bought near my kids' university. Well, actually, the couch has one leg that broke off and can't be repaired, so it's sitting on some blocks ... but the cushions are still fluffy and everything else has held its shape! It really doesn't owe us anything at this point--it had a good 15 years in the living room, another 5 or 6 in the basement, and now is going on year 5 in a university 'pad'.
At the same time we purchased the set for our living room, we also bought a reclining couch and chair-and-a-half for our family room. Those didn't hold up nearly as well--cushions all got flat looking, recliner hardware on the couch wore out. I think they both lasted about 10 years or so.
The other LB piece that we've had was an oversized reclining chair. Hated it. It had the power recline and somehow you could never find the 'perfect' position--plus the back was a low one, so when you did recline all the way, your head (depending on your height!) wasn't comfortably on the cushion. We only used that one for a few years before we moved it into the basement and replaced it with an Eames chair knock off.

IIRC, we looked at them but they did not fit my very short body. I am just 5 ft. tall (short?) and the pillow for the head hit me wrong and made my head be pushed forward.
We purchased from Basset about 3 years ago and like it OK. DH has a recliner and I sit on the sofa that has 2 reclining ends.
Ours is manual and now I wish we had the power feature.

I LOVE the style of this chair. VERY unreclinery to be sure! We need to reconfigure the furniture in our family room and a couple of these might have a place in there, though a sectional with chaise would be terrific.... We have had 2 LaZBoy recliner sofas and both held up and functioned well. The first one had a cloth fabric in a print I loved at the time It faded a great deal in the sun from the large window nearby and the fabric eventually became very worn. Too thin to begin with, but I loved it for quite some time. The recliner mechanics were always great. Our second one is probably 15 years old and is wearing very well. Also cloth, but a soft fabric in solid medium gray. Very happy with it.
