... I hope the brown trend doesn't keep carrying over into the next new releases... ... from this company or, worse, becomes an industry-wide trend!

These papers remind me of a company that left the business awhile back. I forget their name. I never bought their stuff then and am not buying this line. 49th and Market have definitely changed. I'm curious which defunct manufacturer you're referencing... Maybe Rusty Pickle?

Thanks for your responses. I'm not the target customer (ETA: & do not need pocket sleeves). Nothing is added to my wish list.

I'm happy to pass on this collection, although there are a few things about it that I really like. I seem to be in the minority in loving the colors on this one, but other than that, there just isn't anything here that I need. That said, I'd be curious to see pics of the inside of that binder and the stuff that comes packaged with it. If anyone gets one, I'd love to know if the inside hardware is as nice as the inside hardware on the six-ring binders they used to sell. I bought something like one zillion (possibly a slight exaggeration) of their old 6-ring binders. I LOVE the quality and look of them. The inside metal just looks so chic and sophisticated. But, I felt like I was way overspending on them and the page protectors, because of the way they bundled the page protectors. (I like the full-sized pockets, and I hardly use the page protectors with the 4x6" pockets, but those came bundled together. So I was constantly buying page protectors and then only using about half of them.) So I stopped buying them because of that, and also because each of the albums came bundled with stuff I also wasn't using. Each album came with flip pages and a pretty zippered pocket, but I'm using exactly zero of those -- so all that extra stuff was a total waste for me. It looks like the new album also comes bundled with stuff -- no pics of it, though, so it's hard to say if I'd use it or not. But at least the new albums apparently solve the page protector problem, so there's that. I'm glad I already have enough 49 and Market stuff to last me quite awhile. A couple of years ago, I over-bought at an ACOT Black Friday sale. Thank goodness!

I usually love 49 & Market but I'm not digging the new designer. Everything is so incredibly themed- there used to be a lot more generic embellishments - frames, tickets, film strips, leaves, etc., that you could use on any layout. I did like the Academia line, but it was also incredibly themed- I guess I just liked that theme. Also, after one of you pointed out the AI images on the garage one, it kind of squigs me out- very uncanny valley. That being said, I know I'll get some of the papers- there are a lot of nice b-sides and a couple good a-sides. I'll also probably get some kind of embellishment to go with it, but nothing jumps out at me at first glance. I think you nailed it with why I used to LOVE 49 & Market so much -- the fact that so many of the products are super pretty but unthemed or at least not overly themed, making them usable for practically any purpose. There were themes to some of them, too, but the themes were usable ones for me (forest, beach...)

Don't have a use for the paper or embellishments but I love the recipe cards, and the instaflaps/page protectors. And if my store brings in individual sheets I saw a woodgrain I like
