Wow, I typically really love everything 49 & Market puts out but Cottagecore is kinda 'meh' to me. The flip sleeves are nice but not something I think I'd use. Looked again and now am reconsidering. I might have a project that could use a few of these.

After looking at this more closely, I think I'd be happy with a few papers but I think I can skip the embellishments. I reserve the right to change my mind, when I see it in person though!

Too brown and rustic. It’s just not the same without Katie Pertiet.

I love the album and recipe cards. I have a crappy 3-ring binder with printed recipes that I could convert to an actual cookbook. Those items are in my cart for now.

I usually love 49 & Market but I'm not digging the new designer. Everything is so incredibly themed- there used to be a lot more generic embellishments - frames, tickets, film strips, leaves, etc., that you could use on any layout.
I did like the Academia line, but it was also incredibly themed- I guess I just liked that theme.
Also, after one of you pointed out the AI images on the garage one, it kind of squigs me out- very uncanny valley.
That being said, I know I'll get some of the papers- there are a lot of nice b-sides and a couple good a-sides. I'll also probably get some kind of embellishment to go with it, but nothing jumps out at me at first glance.

If this guy is going to be their only "designer" then my pocketbook will be safe for the rest of time. His style is just too one note. It's too much brown, and green, and cream, and brown! This is a kitchen/baking collection? yuck. I want some brighter, lighter colors. I don't mind distressed. I don't mind vintage. But, this is just not it. I was ok with Rust and Revs. It was cars, motorcycles, oil, grease, man stuff. So the brown and the dark coloring worked I guess. But, if every collection is going to be that way, then it'll be a hard pass for me. Which, that makes me sad. I loved almost every collection previously and I absolutely loved the quality of their papers! I guess instead of buying, I should spend more time using the stuff! LOL!

Not a fan of the new stuff. Too many AI vibes, and way too much brown.

Too brown, too themed, not enough "white space."
What I liked about 49 and Market was the watercolor, flexible themed papers and they seemed to have gone a different direction now. Good thing I have a large pile of their older stuff in my stash.

I like the flip pockets, especially the ability to buy a variety pack. I was excited to see Cottagecore, then bummed by the color palette and its similarities to other recent lines. It just wasn't at all what I was expecting from something with that name.
The last few of their lines just haven't spoken to me very much. At least I'm saving money.

These papers remind me of a company that left the business awhile back. I forget their name. I never bought their stuff then and am not buying this line. 49th and Market have definitely changed.

For the sake of 49 & Market I hope that either their customer/fan base isn't all feeling the same way many of us seem to be feeling--less enthused than we used to be, or that if they are, that 49 & Market pays attention to that and makes some changes.

Cottage Core is pretty but I have so many vintage style pp-s that I don't need any of it. Although I do like the laser cut kitchen elements. I would like to see the Pocket Sleeves in person before committing to them. Thanks PaperAngel.

There are a couple items that I like.
I am disappointed, that there is no separate package of words or regular frames(not filmstrip frames). There are a few words and frames in the embellishment packs, but their past collections usually had a separate word package and separate frame package all on it's own. There's also no filmstrip package (which I would occasionally purchase as well).

I like the idea of flip pages. I’m interested in those. But no thanks to the brown tones and meh embellishments. I’m guessing they’re going for a vintage look but it just isn’t working. Way too drab.

Cottage core is lovely especially the little tote But then I have a thing for storage items …🤣 Given how quickly the Project Tote Bag for each collection sells out at online retailers, it appears you're not alone! It does seem odd, however, that enamel dots are only available with the Tote Bag & not sold as a separate item.

I don't mind some of the more generic b-sides in cottagecore, but I do wish it had a little more colour in it. I might pick up one or two papers from this. The embellishments are mostly way too themed for my preference, I'm always looking for good cooking embellishments, but the full roast dinner is just not something I can ever see myself using.
I still have some of the old SS stick on photo sleeves that appear to be very similar to the pocket sleeves.

I think it is pretty and would probably pick up some of the paper. But I hope the brown trend doesn't keep carrying over into the next new releases...

I like the papers, but the embellishments are all too much of a theme. I might get one pack, but I'm hoping some of the embellishments from previous collections will go well with the papers.

... Everything is so incredibly themed- there used to be a lot more generic embellishments - frames, tickets, film strips, leaves, etc., that you could use on any layout. ... Sadly (as a non-theme scrapper), it seems the entire industry is becoming more themed with fewer versatile/non-themed embellishments. For example, most company's cardstock stickers & journaling-focused diecut/ephemera packs used to include generic labels, tabs, etc. in each collection's color palette, which have largely been replaced with themed icons/sentiments (repeated ad nauseam from patterned papers, cardstock/puffy sticker sheets, sticker books, chipboard, washi, various ephemera packs, stamps/dies, etc.).

... they seemed to have gone a different direction now ... As Chinagirl828 posted in this thread, Katie Pertiet cited 49 & Market "began changing direction & it was not aligning with me" as her reason for ending their licensing relationship this summer after 4 years of working with the company. (ETA: See her last announcement HERE.)
