My brother's birthday is the 15th of December so that is when we decorated. Now I start about the 1st of December. I'd start earlier but I've a party just before Thanksgiving and my trees take up too much floor space. Outside tree will probably go up Thanksgiving weekend -hopefully before the ground freezes here.

I now use my old tree as an outdoor tree, and I use my mint flocked tree as my indoor tree. I went back to the shop where I bought my mint tree on the weekend, and saw that this year they have pink flocked and pale blue flocked trees. I can't tell you how tempted I was to buy a pink and blue one, but DSO would KILL me!! Imagine how pretty my lounge room would look with mint, pink, and blue trees all in a row!

I have a 4’ vintage aluminum tree and love it. My dd found it about 10 years ago. If I could find a larger one reasonable I would be all over it ❤️💕

My grandma had one for my entire childhood and now my aunt has it. If it’s in good shape, I’m gonna bring that baby home.

Tree #2 is finished. I don’t want to get excited, because they are the two smallest ones. 😜

I think we are going to start next weekend. I have a Christmas tree in every room…including bathrooms.

An IKEA Vinterfint wood wall tree came home with us a month or so ago and I've been debating how to use it. First step will be painting it black. Ooh, I hope you’ll post pics of this!

I love Christmas decorating, but I just cannot do it before Thanksgiving. The closest I will come is putting the tree up on Thanksgiving, after our dinner guests leave. In 2020, it did go up before Thanksgiving because that was such a crap year with the pandemic starting.

Not until after Thanksgiving. I do need a new an artificial tree. Anyone have one they love? Balsam Hill. You can order a sampler box of all the different branches (when I did it, it was $20), and then when you buy your tree, that is credited back. They arent cheap, but it is the best tree we have ever had- ours is a flip tree. I have 2 Balsam Hill trees. I love them!

We get a real tree so it won't go up until at least thanksgiving weekend. However, your post reminds me that I need to get to work. I crocheted all the ornaments for this year's tree. However I need to do the angel topper. I thought it would be fun to have an all crochet tree this year. (I probably should have crocheted a tree skirt. Maybe I still can...if I start it Jeremy's going to kill me.😉) Oh, you SHOULD do the tree skirt! My mom had a really kitschy, kind of garish one that a sweet homebound hair client of hers made one year for us decades ago. It’s super cheap acrylic yarn in too-bright colors with things like a Santa, snowman, reindeer, etc. on it. Mom used it every year. I took it home with me when she moved to the nursing home and we used it here for many years. Last year I thought maybe we would do something else and my kid completely objected saying, “We HAVE to use it! It’s TRADITION!” LOL. So there you go. 🤣

Off to order the Balsam Hill sampler box. What a great idea, thank you!
Our current artificial is a noble fir style, which we like. I think it’s very natural looking. But, it’s shorter than we want.
Has anyone used one of the rattan tree skirt/collars instead of a tree skirt? Do you like it/love it/hate it?

We were supposed to meet at 1:00 so I could see it but she messaged me at 12:50 and said she had to leave town til tomorrow and I could put a deposit down if I really wanted to see it. Hmmm. No thanks. I will take my chances once you come back.

I like them because they look a bit more finished to me than a tree skirt, which looks great when there are presents around the tree, but most of mine don’t.
