This thread is about Fluff. Literally. Marshmallow fluff, that is. Do you ever buy it, and for what purpose? I know some people use it for making things like fudge, but the only reason I have ever purchased it was to let my children experience Fluffernutter sandwiches. I ate a decent number of fluffernutters as a kid, because A.) my mom did use it to make fudge, and B.) my mom also liked the occasional fluffernutter. However, these days I find fluff to be way, way too sweet for me to enjoy, and I don't even use it in other recipes. But a few years back, I came across a restaurant that served fluffernutters and had to call my mom to tell her. So, any Fluff fans?

Yes! I love that stuff. I used to buy it to put on ice cream.
The perfect "fluff" thread! Now I am craving it.

Apparently, I buy it so I can put it in a cabinet for three years and never use it!
I keep wanting to make a copycat version of the Little Debbie oatmeal cream pies but every recipe Iโve found just uses regular old American buttercream as the filling, and Iโm sorry but that just ainโt right! There is definitely something marshmallow going on in that filling. I have a cookie recipe that comes close, but none of the filling recipes look right.
I think people are buying it these days to make an abomination that is called Fluffy Coke. I think you dip the rim of the glass in the fluff, then in sprinkles, then put more fluff in the glass and fill it up with Coke or the soda of your choice. I like sweet stuff as much as anyone, but that seems over the top even to me. Diabetes in a glass, IMO.

I went through a phase of selling it in the shop and the kids were mad for it. I have no idea what they did with it. I have a distant memory of someone melting it and stirring Rice Krispies in to make Krispie Cakes.

I haven't bought it in years, but I always bought it for fluffernutter purposes. I'm pretty sure it's all I ate for school lunches in elementary school.
DH is disgusted by it, so I don't really buy it too much anymore.

I would always buy it even before kids. I would just scoop it out of the jar and eat it off the spoon. I only had one kiddo that liked flutternutters. I don't think I have ever eaten one.

I mix it with strawberry cream cheese for a fruit dip.

I had a fudge recipe that called for that as an ingredient. That is the only time I have ever used it. I made it once.
With DH a diabetic and me eternally watching what I eat, I have only made fudge once. If someone gifts us fudge, I usually take it to the workplace or toss it.

Am I the only one who had to look up what a fluffernutter sandwich was? It looks and sounds good, so now I must go buy a jar of marshmallow fluff.
I can't believe I deprived my kids growing up. Shh, don't tell them, maybe they will never realize it.

I never heard of fluffernutters until I read about them here. When I was growing up, it was called marshmallow cream and was used for making Rice Krispie Treats. Iโve used it for that and other baked goods and have been known to dip a spoon in it.

I only buy it a Christmas to make Fluffernutter โcookiesโ, peanut butter on one Ritz cracker, Marshmallow fluff on another, put together & dip in chocolate. Itโs kind off a Christmas tradition in my family

You have to melt the fluff in the microwave just a bit to make it runny. This reminds me of a time when I went to Bridgemanโs with friends for ice cream. I ordered something like a turtle sundae and whatever they brought me was not that. It was some kind of weird ice cream flavor with a big glob of marshmallow cream on top, and the flavors didnโt even remotely go together. ๐คข The waitress left it on the table and said, โWhoever wants this can have it for free.โ Yeah, no. Nobody even touched it because it was such an odd combination! ๐คฃ ETA: I could see it being good with chocolate or even strawberry.

Itโs kind off a Christmas tradition in my family I am so making these. Ds will be over the moon! He was a big fluffernutter kid. He used to ask for what he called a Peanut Butter Club sandwich, 3pieces of bread, top bread with peanut butter then the next bread had Fluff and you made a sandwich, then you add jelly to the Fluff side of the sandwich and top with the last slice of bread with peanut butter on it.

I remember eating fluffernutter sandwiches as a kid, although mostly we had peanut butter and jelly. I'm not sure if I've ever bought marshmallow fluff because I don't really like marshmallows unless they're toasted and in between two graham crackers with some chocolate melting next to them.

I didn't realize you could use it for Rice Krispie treats. Man, if they still set up the same, then that sounds so much easier than trying to deal with melted marshmallow goop instead!

Yes, itโs definitely a Northeast/New England thing! The company that makes it is in Mass. I grew up on fluffernutter sandwiches, and we always had a scoop of fluff in our hot cocoa in the winter. It was the best!

I use it for a peanut butter cup s'more recipe I make. It is delicious, but I hate take it out of the container and spreading it. It is a very rich dessert, but so good in small doses!

I was born in the city where Fluff is made. I have consumed many fluffernutters in my life and still enjoy one on occasion. If you think the sandwich is too sweet you need more peanut butter! I also use it fudge that I make every year at Christmas.

I don't think I have ever purchased Marshmallow Fluff for any reason. I've never made fudge, either, but I don't recall any recipe I've seen having it as an ingredient.

We don't make fudge here, but my DD25 will eat a fluffernutter and banana sandwich occasionally. I like to keep a jar of marshmallow fluff on hand to make a fruit dip with 1 jar marshmallow fluff and one block of softened cream cheese blended together....MMM..so good!

It gets scooped on top of hot cocoa in our house. DH likes to take a scoop and eat it with a scoop of peanut butter. He doesnโt bother turning into an actual sandwich. I have also used it to make fruit dip.
