Every year one of our largest retailers, John Lewis, puts out a Christmas commercial that tugs at the heartstrings. You will need kleenex next to you to watch this years. It's especially poignant for me as we lost my brother in August and his wife is all about seeing robins as a sign of departed ones. John Lewis (inspired) Commercial 2024
EDIT - it seems this is not the official one but one "inspired" by. Apologies. I will leave it up though incase those who have seen it want to see it again.

You got me. I always look forward to the UK Christmas ads. We don't do many in Australia, and certainly nowhere near as epic.

There's usually children in them so this seems a big departure.
I've changed my heading slightly incase some are triggered by the advert.

Hugs to you.
Every year I look up UK adverts because I think they put out so many really nice holiday ones.
ETA: Okay, I just watched it, and wow, this year's is lovely, and points out a real issue. But yeah, I'm crying.

That’s sweet.
I have heard of cardinals being a reminder of those who have died but hadn’t heard that about robins. I always think of my dad when I see a pheasant since he was a pheasant hunter (although I don’t remember him ever actually killing one. He just liked to walk around in nature I think).

Tears are streaming.
Last Dec we were in London. When I saw the John Lewis store I ran over to see the Venus Fly Trap commercial. Dh was mesmerized, he stood there for a good half an hour just watching it over and over while tears streamed. We then went and looked up loads of past Christmas ones. You Brits know how to pull heartstrings.
