Is it OK to use the Kraft macaroni and cheese (from the box) or must it be homemade?
I grew up eating the Kraft product and the other mac and cheese just seem too white to me.

My kids and grandkids like Kraft just fine. My late DH drove me crazy, because he'd eyeball the milk and it would be runny.
I have to make it homemade, as I am non-dairy. I use Alton Brown's recipe, but sub oat milk and goat/sheep's milk cheese.
I wish I could be snarky about it, but I got nothin', LOL.

I had to vote Oprah because while I’m not a total “only homemade” mac and cheese aficionado, I just can’t with the Kraft and the orange powdered cheese. Even my kid won’t eat that stuff! But we can and do sometimes make Velveeta shells and cheese out of a box.

Box, I add cheese and butter...
Homemade, terrific, wonderful, but most will do for a quick fix..

I checked the box for must be homemade, but TBH, I think this year my family is getting Bob Evans for Thanksgiving. It's really good and I'm tired after making Thanksgiving dinner mostly by myself for 27 years.
We may also use Bob's mashed potatoes.
If one of my grown kids wants to step up and make the mac and cheese, they are welcome to do so. They both can cook well enough for that.
ETA: I thought this was specific to Thanksgiving. We rarely eat mac and cheese at any other time.

I love homemade Mac and cheese. I love Kraft Mac and cheese. I love most Mac and cheeses. I have a box Cabot Mac and cheese to try (I am a Cabot cheese person as my go to everyday cheese) For the most part I don’t like anything else in my Mac and Cheese except Mac and Cheese, except bread crumbs or something crunchy on a baked Mac and Cheese. Maybe I will accept adding bacon but…
I am not sure which option to pick as my vote? Oprah maybe? 😆

My answer isn't there, it's "none of the above"... unless that's what the "Oprah" option is?
I never make it myself because I hate to cook. And I don't like the boxed kind. My very favorite is the two-pack of Panera brand mac and cheese from Costco. yum!

For the most part, I prefer homemade but sometimes Kraft mac & cheese just hits.

I just buy the individual servings only and don't care what brand For me the individual servings don’t do it. I think it is that the macaroni has a different texture than making a box of it on the stovetop. So if I am doing a Kraft, I need to make it from the box. Weirdly I am fine with microwaving the leftovers of my box made but do not like the microwavable cups. I do have issues at times. 😆 ETA - maybe it is the premade cheese sauce as I am not a fan of really any other than the original Kraft. I really don’t like the shaped pasta ones. I can’t seem to cook those pasta shapes correctly. Hahaha.

We might eat Mac & cheese once a year, maybe. If we do then Kraft is ok. For this years Mac and Cheese offering, I made a pan of homemade Mac and Cheese and while it was ok, it wasn't OMG good. If I am eating it in a restaurant, the only way I will order it is with lobster or crab.

I'm a Kraft girl and not afraid to admit it. Me too! I don't like cheese, so real mac and cheese isn't that great to me. However, the powdered goodness of fake cheese is the best and allows me to enjoy mac and cheese.

Freshly made here. I know Kraft is hugely popular locally, I’ve never tried it and won’t.

I like both but they aren't the same experience at all. It is similar to liking hamburgers vs. liking McDonald's hamburgers. I like both but they should hardly be called the same thing.
I like macaroni and cheese baked like my mother used to do. You basically sliced it instead of scooped it. She put a few slices of tomato on top and browned it a bit. Man, I loved that stuff. I can eat the goopy, creamy kind but I crave baked mac & cheese.
When my dad was little (he is 85 now) his mom put slices of Velveeta on top and they burned a bit. He still remembers that mac & cheese fondly and when he makes it himself he puts Velveeta on and burns the top.
I do like Kraft, though.

I make a really good homemade, but Trader Joe's white cheddar or Annie's white cheddar are also awesome, so I voted Oprah.

I love Kraft Mac N Cheese! But I'm also into Cracker Barrel Mac N Cheese. It's more like homemade in that you bake it after. But they supply the ingredients. I remember making homemade with my mom. Back then we had government cheese. This was when I was really young. Then we used Velveeta cheese. So good!

When I grew up, lunch on Saturday was Kraft macaroni and cheese and tuna sandwiches.
Kraft for me.

Bob Evans or Stouffers are my choice. I like homemade but I don’t want to take the time to make it.

Definitely homemade.
I grew up on Kraft Mac and cheese. Not sure if Jay has ever had it. Though, I would make the Pasta Roni shell version when he was younger. When I found the homemade version, I never made it from the box again.
Unfortunately, I have become gluten intolerant. Haven’t had the heart to try making GF version of the homemade Mac & cheese.

I picked “Oprah” because it depends…
Quick meal/snack = Kraft boxed stuff
Nicer, fancy meal = homemade velveeta & shells

No boxed mac n cheese. One time my friend and I went to her house for lunch (from work) and she made us Kraft Mac n Cheese. Ughhh! I did not say anything, but that was awful. My mom did not use very much boxed or canned food, so not everything sits well with me.

I grew up on Kraft until my BFF introduced me to Velvetta. I never looked back, though DH still ate Kraft.
If I'm making it for any run of the mill dinner, boxed is fine. If it was being taken to a holiday dinner then I'd do from scratch. Though, I don't know anyone who has mac and cheese at a holiday dinner.

Oprah.
I love mac and cheese. Scratch, box (but doctored up) etc. What I don't like is when it's too dry or soup like. Or smoked gouda cheese. Other than that, I pretty much love it all. I've only had one that was so bad I couldn't eat it. I work for a University and a cafe in a nearby building serves mac and cheese. Everyone agrees it's horrible. Mushy, no flavor, almost a slight cardboard taste. Maybe they don't even serve it anymore. I certainly haven't ordered it but that one time.

I have never bought boxed mac and cheese. when I did eat it (it is off the menu now) I always made homemade. we almost never had pasta growing up.. my dad was allergic to wheat.. so it was a rare thing. Tillamook cheddar is the go to cheese

If I am making it for dinner especially if I am having guests, it must be homemade.
If it is lunch or I am just feeling like mac and cheese with limited time, it is blue box Kraft.

Growing up my mom never bought KD (we call it KD in Canada not Kraft Dinner or mac and cheese). We cooked macaroni and put Cheese Whiz on it. So I never cared for KD. Now I'm gluten free and don't eat much dairy so I haven't had any version of mac and cheese in a long time

I like homemade best but also enjoy a doctored up box of Kraft.
