I'll start by saying I am not a Christmas person at all. Halloween all of the way for me. I like the spirit of Christmas but the aesthetic just isn't for me.
That being said, I do scrap Christmas pictures and buy some Christmas collections.
What images attract you? What images do you not use?
For me, if it has a deer on it, I'm in. I'm deer crazy. I love them in real life (I see them on my walks sometimes) but I also love deer images in Christmas products. I also don't object to snowmen. Snowmen, in whatever style the scrapbook line is, are usually cute.
But Santa Claus? No, no, no! He is creepy. Skeletons are creepy and fun. Santa is creepy in "stalks you, enters your house illegally, and has children sit on his lap" kind of way. Very occasionally I'll use the Victorian St. Nick images but very rarely do I plop a Santa on my layout. I can think of one layout that was about my mom's Santa figure collection (Why Mom, why?), and nothing else.
Does anyone else have preferences for Christmas stuff?

I'm the same as you...all in on Halloween and dreading Christmas. I've never been a fan. As for icons/images I do like the vintage look. Things I remember from when I was young (a LONG time ago ).

I am in a Christmas lights paper collecting phase, I can't get enough. I also like paper with evergreen trees (not necessarily decorated) on it.
Santa, it depends on the image...

I adore Christmas trees (they're living scrapbooks!) and not only have a live one for the family but also have a pastel ombre fake one for my office + collect tabletop trees so I love scrapbook stuff with Christmas trees, too. I also love snowflakes and gold/glitter. Since I'm digital, I use a different kit for each page/spread so it's mostly the theme or photos from each page/spread that dictates what I use.
My kids are too big for Santa but he's never been a huge part of our holiday so I don't care either way about him. I'm not into vintage-looking decor or images. My mom is a huge gnome nut so I don't use those in my own scrapping. I'm never one to use animal icons unless there are actually animals in my photos.

I like pine tree imagery a lot, decorated Christmas trees are fine, depending, but I always love a plain tree. I like candy canes and holly with berries as motifs.
I like Santa. I don’t care for presents as a motif, and all the winter stuff like snowflakes and snowmen and snow covered houses don’t really work for me. I hate snow and (thankfully!) live in a fairly mild California climate.

I'm a sucker for small wood critters. Especially wood critters with a wooly hat or a scarf. If they're holding a mug of steaming hot cocoa or coffee, all the better!
I may have in the past bought a Christmas collection's ephemera pack or chipboard Thicker sheet just because of that one critter... More than once.

I'm not a theme scrapper but often gravitate to (undecorated) trees, sparkles, & bokeh patterns for holiday layouts.

Nutcrackers, holiday baking, gingerbread people, and Santas are my faves. I'm not big into the Christmas tree farm scene or snowmen.I go back and forth between classic colors and different takes such as pink and white.

I am definitely a Christmas person. I love just about everything except creepy Victorian/vintage santas and dolls. I'm not a big fan of angels either. Snowflakes, deer, pine trees, penguins, and polar bears are my favorite winter/Christmas images.

I like St Nicholas/Father Christmas more than Santa but if it has to be Santa - I want a classic Jolly Ol' St Nick style not a some stylized or creepy one.
I want images I can use on my pages - and I'm a bit literal so while I love snowmen and snowflakes...I live in Florida so no. Presents, advent wreaths/candles, Christmas trees, Christmas cookies (and not just gingerbread), stockings, deer are great but rarely for my Christmas pages, cardinals (but again rarely for Christmas)....
I would like generic icons - hearts, stars, arrows, cameras, filmstrips, etc...in Christmas colours. I prefer evergreen/cranberry but red/green works also. Not a huge lime green/pink/blue Christmas person

I love cute Christmas themed critters. I was in love with the ones from CV's Christmas line a few years ago that had little holly springs near their ears, I love the critters in Crate's line this year. I just love cute festive animals.
I tend to shy away from anything vintage, or overly winter/cold Christmas themed, so no snowflakes or snowmen or sledding or people bundled up in my albums.

As a southern hemisphere gal where it never snows no snowmen /flakes/frosty/cocoa/warm wishes /hats and gloves AT ALL I need to buy ICE on Christmas Day to keep drinks cold!! For me Christmas is about salads and seafood and swimming and trying to keep cool in the often 35 C degree heat So - I use poinsettias and holly and that’s about it !I do like a good Santa or reindeer as long as they are not “creepy” Also being rural I don’t do foxes or rabbits as these are vermin which cause a lot of destruction where I live so……

artbabe about your Mom's Santa collection. I guess I like the woodland creatures that are often shown in Christmas collections and Christmas trees with all the beautiful lights. Sleds, stockings, pets sleeping under the Christmas tree... I have an old Christmas collection from Renae Lindgren that I need to use - I love it, it's bright, has pretty Christmas lights, it's just cheery. Maybe this year.

Yes - stars, I’m a sucker for stars (but not the wonky ones AE tends to use), evergreen trees, greens/Holly/garlands.
Ok in moderation - ornaments, woodland crittters.
Absolutely not - nutcrackers (horrifying), most Santas, nativity, gingerbread, and turns out I don’t love doves/birds.

I love Santa, snowmen, trees, houses, strings of lights. I also like vintage cars with trees on them.
While I do like ornaments, they are harder to use as a full sheet so I prefer it as a card insert or diecut.

Deer for me too! I love them and have a huge (restoration hardware) deer head in my living room that I decorate every year.
I also love snow shoes, undecorated evergreen tress, vintage Christmas imagery, christmas plaid paper.

Love Christmas. I don’t typically have a favorite icon, it’s more about the style and colors of said icon. Like I love trees- but they need to be the right trees. Assuming things are the way I like, I partially like presents, trees, floral, candy cane, gingerbread people, stockings, snowflakes, ornaments… More than icons, I love Christmas patterns/pagterned paper. Dots, plaids, text especially, stripes, love it.

For me, if it has a deer on it, I'm in. I'm deer crazy. I love them in real life (I see them on my walks sometimes) but I also love deer images in Christmas products. Ha, I am the complete opposite! Deer are not native to Australia, they are considered a pest / invasive animal. Their impact is quite devastating to native flora and fauna, and have to be controlled by either containment or shooting. (How's that for a jolly thought? Sorry!) Hence I would never use a deer icon on a layout. As Christmas is in summer here, I have no use for snowmen - most of my Summer Christmas kits have sandmen instead of snowmen. They're just as cute as snowmen! I love any icon that has a summer feel to it: sandmen, Santa in board shorts and sunglasses, decorated palm trees, cocktails, beach icons. Definitely no snowflakes or other snow / cold weather icons. And no vintage. And no traditional colours. OMG this all makes me sound so fussy and annoying!

Absolutely not - nutcrackers (horrifying), Definitely horrifying. Also, I sold tickets for the city live theaters for 5 years and the people who bought Nutcracker tickets were the worst. They didn't know anything about ballet and had unreasonable demands. Not 100% of them, but enough that Christmas season was dreaded. Oh, they are overrun in Ohio, too, so deer hunting is popular. I don't care- I always find it breathtaking when I run into them on my Metropark walks. They are just so beautiful. Also being rural I don’t do foxes or rabbits as these are vermin which cause a lot of destruction where I live so…… Oh my gosh, I love rabbits. One day when I was coming home from work I found a domesticated one on my lawn. I fostered him for 3 months until the local rescue could take him. He was so sweet- I've loved rabbits every since. I run into lots of rabbits on my walks, too- that is always delightful.

I like tradition red and green. No pink, blue or gold. I like trees, lights, presents, cookies, hot cocoa, ornaments, stockings, shopping bags, candy canes, gingerbread houses, wreaths, reindeer, Santa, snowman.
Not a fan of >> wood panel station wagon with a tree strapped on top, farm truck with a tree in the back, icicles, elves with weird faces, trees with snow on them.

Every week a friend and I go for a walk up a (small) mountain, and when we are walking up the last little part of the hill, and catch a glimpse of the first kangaroo, it's just amazing! Apparently there are feral deer in that state park. We were commenting the other day that we've never actually seen one. They carry out regular culling there, because of the damage they are doing. But if I were see to one in the wild in the US, I would be thrilled!

I grew up with upside down summer Christmas and all its contradictions. NZ seemed to be in denial about not being Britain for a long time so all the Christmas iconography I remember from childhood was very wintery. I like most of it even if it doesn’t fit my reality (no cardinals in the PNW).
I live in Christmas Tree Land now, and enjoy evergreen and Old World Yule types of imagery, holly, nature and snowy stuff. Love poinsettias.
I’m a bit picky about Santas. They can tend creepy pretty easily. I prefer more Father Christmas, old fashioned European ones, but I rarely use Santa images in crafting. I don’t own any Santa stamps or dies even though I make hundreds of Xmas cards each year!
For cardmaking I can work with most images but I find small ornaments harder to use than they should be, and candy canes and stockings are awkward shapes to use even though I like them otherwise.

I tend toward the classic stuff. I like reindeer (my favorite), wrapped packages, decorated trees, ornaments, gingerbread people, Santa, candy canes, and poinsettias. Since it doesn’t snow where I live I don’t use snowflakes, snow people, etc.

I like mostly trees and bulbs. I’m not a fan of Santa images, either.
I’m lot a fan of most Halloween stuff because the most we do for that day is have a bowl of candy in the driveway while we hang out in our bedroom with the pups and watch a movie. Nothing really to scrap.
I pretty much only scrap pics of the four of us in our matching pj’s, and the dogs looking at their stockings. LOL

I love holly & berries, candles, simple gift or ornament motifs, wreaths, simple trees, or evergreen boughs. With the exception of simple nativity scenes for church related pages, I am less enthusiastic about anything living/personified--angels, snowmen, elves, nutcrackers, Santa & Mrs. Claus, reindeer, etc. I do like deer & snowmen for winter pages, though.
