My stepmom is thinking about cutting down on how many gifts they buy for Christmas now that there are so many in the family. Other than drawing names or doing a gift exchange where each person brings a gift for someone and then you can open or steal, are there any other creative ideas for gift exchanges? Or other suggestions when in this situation? It's a blended family so altogether she and her husband have 10 kids (8 of whom are married) and 23 grandkids. She doesn't know how much she wants to cut down because she is worried that there won't be anything to do. I said I would plan some adult and kids games.

Honestly, cut down on who you give to. Many years ago, our family established a no gifts for anyone over 18 years. No one missed getting gifts as we are all at the point where we buy what we want. We've done at least two different games: -Pantry bingo - everyone brings stuff from their pantry wrapped. Sometimes it's really old and yucky, sometimes it's great. I have an older set of bingo cards and we play bingo. The winner(s) pick from the pile of items everyone brought. -Saran Wrap ball game - I shopped at the dollar store and filled the ball with items and added lottery tickets. link
