How to do this:

To delete attachments, you will need to be viewing the forum in desktop mode. It would be easier to do this on a tablet or laptop/desktop, on a phone it will be fiddly. If you are in mobile view, scroll to the very bottom of the page and at the right hand edge you should see a "Desktop" link.
Once you're in desktop mode, the best way to find your attachments is to use the full search from the menu at top of the page (between the Gallery and Members links).
In the "with all the words" box under "What to search" enter "attachment"
In the "by at least one of the members" box under "Who to search" enter your own username (not display name). It should show bring up your miniprofile (name, avatar, rank) to select. Choose yourself!
Under "How to search", select "Display result as posts"
There is a limit to the number of search results it will bring up, so if you have a lot you might also want to limit by date in the "When to search" section. Perhaps do a few months at a time.
This will also bring up any posts where you have used/quoted the word attachment but you can of course just skim past those!
To delete the attachments, I suggest right-clicking on the "Edit" button on each post you want to delete from, and opening in a new tab, so that you don't have to keep redoing the search. Hit the "Edit attachments" button towards the top right (above the smiley buttons) and then choose "Delete" against each attachment. Hit "Done" and then scroll to the bottom of the edit box and click "Save changes"
It is a bit laborious but far quicker than me doing it for everyone - the alternative is I delete it all indiscriminately, but I'd prefer to avoid that.
If you know you've never added any attachments, you don't need to do anything!
